practical. I headed up a division of a publishing house and had
resumes coming in all the time.The ones that had German...,
Arabic, Chinese, etc (any of the languages considered "hard")

but the student who takes one of these languages has
demonstrated that he/she is probably an independent thinker
(since all his/her friends take Spanish), thinks outside of the box
