        Two Key Branches of Ethics
• Descriptive ethics involves describing,
  characterizing and studying morality
  – “What is”
• Normative ethics involves supplying and
  justifying moral systems
  – “What should be”

    involves a comparison of a decision or
     practice to prevailing societal norms
