This document summarizes a presentation about innovative learning and teaching using digital technologies. It discusses the SAMR model for technology integration and provides examples of how teachers can augment or modify classroom activities using tools like Minecraft, SketchUp, and digital storytelling apps. The presentation encourages teachers to think about how they can apply the SAMR levels to their own lesson planning and assessing students in more digital ways, such as having students contact an expert via video chat or make an interactive game to demonstrate their understanding.

Gr.2 Science - Earth and space
1. demonstrate an understanding of the structure of
the solar system
2. demonstrate an understanding that life on Earth is
dependent on its position in the solar system
3. demonstrate an understanding of the relationship
between the parts of the solar system
4. demonstrate an understanding of how time, tide,
seasons are affected by the location and movement
of Earth

Activity:
Get in pairs and
develop some
assessment tasks for
the science unit in line
with the SAMR model.
12. Gr.2 Science - Earth and Space
1. demonstrate an understanding of
the structure of the solar system
2. demonstrate an understanding
that life on Earth is dependent on
its position in the solar system
3. demonstrate an understanding of
the relationship between the
parts of the solar system
4. demonstrate an understanding of
how time, tide, seasons are
affected by the location and
movement of Earth
13. Gr.2 Science - Earth and space
Learn about the Earth’s role through a
video or podcast by Bill Nye, Neil De
Grasse Tyson, Brain Pop etc.
Using Minecraft, Sketch Up, etc. students will design a
digital model of a new solar system that can also
support life. They need to explain how everything in their
solar system fits together and interacts with one another.
Students contact an astrophysicist to ask
them questions about the Earth’s place in
the solar system through ie. Skype.
Tellagami app - students use to do
a presentation of their factual
understanding of their planet.

Read free ebooks on iPads. Highlight text
to show how the text is interpreted and
reinterpreted.
Instead of final essay, make a game to reflect and
transmit their understanding. The game should be
interactive and make meaning for somebody else.
Create their own narrative and create a comic strip
to show analysis of a story of a feeling interesting
and powerful clear argument of a logic.
Make a Wordle to tell the body of writing and short
stories. Map the argument of reasoning. Instead of
just describing characters of story, now link the
relationship of characters in a mind map.
