2. MYX® Meets The OC
The First Asian American Music Channel Celebrated Their Expansion Into Orange County and Palos Verdes
With Celebrity Host Frankie J (Sony BMG), a performance by local dance group, Groovaholics, and music by DJ Rampage
MYX® - a nationally distributed television channel focusing on the influential Asian American youth community
and a broader audience hungry for music fusion – now available in Orange County and Palos Verdes through
Cox Communications’ Digital Cable service.
Thursday night, the only music lifestyle channel that embraces the entire Asian American community through
music, culture and entertainment was joined by celebrities and tastemakers in celebration of MYX®’s launch into
Orange County and Palos Verdes. Guests enjoyed high-energy performances by the R&B singer Frankie J
(Sony BMG) and local dance group, Groovaholics, and music spun by Omarion’s Tour DJ, DJ Rampage along
with two other local DJs.
The event was held at the plush Shark Club featuring a 2000 gallon Shark Tank and two dance floors. MYX® VJ
hosts Olivia Speranza and James Lontayao kept the party going with special giveaways courtesy of MYX® and
interviews with the hottest crowd to hit the OC for the “My MYX®” and “MYX® on the Move” programs.
Special guest, Yakult, a probiotic health drink, set-up shop outside the venue for over 300 guests to taste before
entering the party. Frankie J even walked out with a handful of Yakult to take home with him to San Diego! Also
in attendance was Power 106, URB Magazine, and Philippine Mabuhay News, among others.
