• Variant Configuration advantages
Business Background
• In RMG sector, a business agreement signed with the buyer usually
contains following key information:
• Style Details
• Quantities over a period of time
• FOB (Buyer’s Offer for per unit Piece of Garments)
• A Contract/Outline Document is created with Quantities , tentative delivery dates,
and other terms and conditions.
• A Tech Pack with details of manufacturing information arrives
• Samples are manufactured as per the Tech Pack for buyer’s approval
• Buyer places the order for a certain quantity to be delivered on a specific
date, CSD(Customer Shipment Date)
• Style specific materials are procured, common materials usually available.
• Production Lines are allocated for a style with a target for Cutting , Sewing ,
and Finishing and
• Cutting operation starts once fabric becomes available, real production
starts.
Introducing the RMG prototype
• This prototype is focused on the RMG manufacturing where fabrics
for the garments are procured externally and through various
manufacturing processes like Cutting, Sewing and Finishing, the final
product is produced.

Introducing the RMG prototype
• The prototype focuses on the basic manufacturing of the garments
with variant configuration. That will include sales order creation with
specific style, size and color combination and also costing based on
the combination.
• The demo will show how the pricing is changed based on the size and
color of the finished garments.
• The manufacturing will be based on the given order (style, size and
color) and after the production, the finished garments will be booked
for the specific order item.

Master data
• The main stages of the production are cutting, sewing and finishing
and so we have CUT PANEL and SEWING MATERIAL as SFG and
COMPLETE GARMENTS as FG.
• Super BOM and routing for the cut panel, sewing material and
complete garments are created and production versions are
generated as well.
• 3 main characteristics are created and they are STYLE, SIZE and
COLOR. A RMG class was created containing all the mentioned
characteristics and assigned to the complete garments.
• Variant pricing conditions are maintained for the size and color
combinations.
Shantanu Barua | Eitekh ERP LTD.
Sales order creation
• A sales order is created for a characteristics combination and as soon
as the sales order is generated relevant variant pricing will be picked.
SO number: 6300000041

Sales order creation
• For each sales order line item, separate costing will be done based on
the selected characteristics.
Shantanu Barua | Eitekh ERP LTD.
MRP run
• After the MRP run, the required planned orders will be generated and
from the planned orders, we can process the production orders.
Shantanu Barua | Eitekh ERP LTD.
Production Process
• Production orders will be automatically linked to the sales order and
carry the characteristics. The manufactured SFGs will be booked to
the specific sales order.
Shantanu Barua | Eitekh ERP LTD.
Production Process
• After the production process, the finished goods stock will be
available under the sales order and delivery can be possible.
Shantanu Barua | Eitekh ERP LTD.
Why variant configuration?
1. Variant configuration can exponentially decrease the master data
maintenance and improve efficiency.
2. Variant configuration keeps the process clean and clearly links the
whole process from sales to production or inventory management.
3. There is no separate month start costing required as each sales
order item is costed by the system and system provides easy sales
order analysis that can be tracked after each steps.
4. Variant configuration allows users to link components like BOM
item or sales order conditions to the characteristics like size, so that
the system works kind of in an automated way.
