• It is an institutional activity.
• It is chronologically graded,
hierarchically structured .

and fulltime and leads to
certification of diplomas &
degrees.
• It observes strict discipline.
9. • The system of education is pre
planned, direct and organized.
• The system requires qualified
teachers or trained personnel
to impart education.
10. • A pre designed curriculum is
followed and the outcome of
the teaching process is
formally tested and reported.
• There are specific agencies to
impart education.
11. • Prescribed curriculum and
contents are strictly followed.
• The overall curriculum is broken
down into smaller portions of
sub goals and systems and are
implemented with an organized
course contents and time table.
12. NON FORMAL EDUCATION
• It is flexible and learner
oriented.
• It is diversified in content and
method.
13. • Non authoritarian and built
on learner participation.
• It mobilizes local resources
and enriches human and
environment.
14. • Non formal education is given
outside the formal system.
• It is consciously deliberately
planned, organized and
systematically implemented.
15. INFORMAL EDUCATION
• Is a life long process.
• The individual learns through
daily experiences and through
the exposure to the
environment at home, at work,
at play, etc.

incidental and spontaneous.
• There are no specific agencies
to impart the education.
17. • There are no prescribed time
table or curriculum and no
formal ends or goals or
objectives.
18. • This system does not need to
have qualified or trained
teachers and no examinations
according to the curriculum.
