The module was used during the 3-hour workshop conducted on 5th of March 2015 with the State of Terengganu Secretariat Office (SUK Terengganu). English Simulation Programme Phase II is a collaborative program between The faculty of Languages and Communication UniSZA and the State of Terengganu Secretariat Office. The second phase was concluded on 10th of September with the presentation of the report to the SUK.

5. To bring movement to your speech, use the physical
space you have available and WALK IT. For example, if
you’re presenting three points, talk about a point when
you’re at at FIRST POSITION, then move out 2 or 3 steps
and talk about Point B; This way, a movement that
includes space will accompany your SPEECH. (Use of
Space/ stage)
6. VARY OUR GESTURES through out the presentation. Open
gestures, Small gestures, gestures that involves our
HEAD, ARMS & HANDS, gestures that involves only hands,

Winston Churchill was the prime minister of England during World War
II. He once said that he thought there was a block of ice in his stomach
each time he made a speech. Julio Iglesias, the famous Spanish singer,
has revealed in interviews that he is nervous about his pronunciation
when speaking English. Jane Fonda, the well-known American actress,
has admitted to having a tremendous fear when facing an audience. And
last but not least, Olivia Newton-John, the famous Australian singer and
actress, has admitted to shaking and crying before a performance.
TRANSITION: As you can see, you are in good company with famous
people who have had stage fright. Now let's investigate what you can do
to overcome this common problem.
The good news is that there are some ways to help you relax and reduce
the amount of stage fright you feel. There are some temporary solutions
and some permanent solutions.
A very good temporary or short-term solution to stage fright is to be
thoroughly prepared for a presentation. Practice your speech or
performance many times. This will help you feel more confident. It is a
good idea to take your time before you begin to speak. Gently place your
notes on the speaker's stand. Be sure to look at your audience before
you begin. When you see them looking at you with interest and giving
you encouraging nods, you will feel much better. Take several deep
breaths before you begin. This will also help calm your nerves a little.
A more permanent or long-term solution is to remember that stage fright
is perfectly normal. Almost everyone experiences stage fright, and you
are not alone in feeling this way. Look for opportunities to practice in

front of groups. Get as much experience as possible. The more
experience you get, the less nervous you will begin to feel. A final long-
term solution is to talk about stage fright with friends. Talking about your
fears with others can be very helpful.
