A proud native of Cincinnati, Dr. Alexander Donath has traveled extensively to hone his skills through first-hand experience with the

Fat transfer, or fat injection, is a cosmetic procedure which can soften or eliminate the appearance of wrinkles and folds in the face. During the
procedure, fat is removed from another area of the body like the abdomen and is then reinjected into the skin beneath the fold where it acts as a
skin volume filler. The result is a much more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. Fat transfer may also be used to add volume to the lips. Up to 70%
of the volume is virtually permanent!

Build Your College Resume by Contributing to
Heritage HOMEfront Publication!
ATTENTION Students!
Extracurricular activities while in middle school/high school
can make a difference between getting accepted to your first
choice school or being put on a waiting list. When it comes
down to candidate selection to top schools, test scores and
GPA’s are often so close that the largest point of differentiation
can be extracurricular activities with an additional focus placed
on community service. Whether the intent is to help build a
stronger college resume, gain experience writing for a publica-
tion or just for the fun of it, Heritage HOMEfront is open to
creative input from the young adults in the neighborhood who
would like to be involved. In assisting each month, students will
have the opportunity to write articles on the people, places and
events in Heritage Club as well as contribute creatively to future
issues of the publication.
The future direction of the publication is going to depend on
the ongoing contributions of the people in Heritage Club and
who better to contribute to its growth than the young adults liv-
ing in the community today!
To find out more information about how to get involved with Heritage
HOMEfront publication, email Evonne at articles@n2pub.com or call

our May book choice. Our readers found
this book beautifully written, rich in
descriptions and filled with memorable
characters. The story is set in New York
in the 1930's and centers on the story of a young, independent
woman by the name of Katey Kontent. The book follows her
adventures through an event-filled year that tests her character
and propels her into situations that bring her into contact with
people who change her forever. All the while, Katey remains
strong and true to herself.

When Murphy was a kitten,
he wondered if life would
get better. He was sick,
abandoned by college
roommates who were
supposed to take care of
him, and a little hopeless.
But his life was about to change for the better. Sally and
Mike McCarthy (who later became her husband) took this
adorable fuzzy friend in and cared for him.
NeighborhoodNews
Fast forward eighteen years later and Murphy is living the life of
luxury here in Heritage Club on Braid Lane. He couldn’t have a
better life. Murphy gets to go on walks with his owners (yes, he
likes to walk with them) and just has a lot of fun. In his younger
years, he liked to hunt other animals outdoors. But have no fear,
birds and bunnies, Murphy has since become a fellow animal-
lover and lets the birds and bunnies live in peace.
Murphy has had an exciting life. He was born and raised in
Michigan before moving to Atlanta for sixteen years with his
family. His days in Atlanta were full of adventure. Believe it or
not, Murphy used to be in charge of a cat gang. Fellow neigh-
borhood cats would come to Murphy’s backyard during the day
and return home at night. Murphy was very social and the cats
played together. Murphy was the life of the party!
But Murphy loves it here in Heritage Club too. He finds him-
self at home here with his owners Sally, Mike, and their young
daughter Kayla. They allow him the luxury of coming and going
as he pleases. He also likes to sleep wherever he chooses.
He also has a sophisticated palate and can’t seem to get enough
of grilled cheese or lunch meat – real food tastes scrumptious to
him in comparison with his cat food.

Meet Murphy:
As for his personality, he likes to go with the flow. He does have
a best friend, 23-month-old Kayla. She and Murphy are bud-
dies. How adorable is that?
In case you didn’t know, Sally and Mike McCarthy have been
living here for less than a year. They moved in right before
Christmas last year. They couldn’t be happier! Sally shares, “We
love Braid Lane. There are so many nice people.”They also find
Mason beautiful.
We wish Murphy a wonderful life on Braid Lane. We are so
glad that he is living a happy life right here in Heritage Club.

Heritage Club Residents Had a
Terrific Time at Uno’s!
DISCLAIMER: The business reviewed in this section provided products and/or ser-
vices free of charge in exchange for this review.
For our May Restaurant Review, residents of Heritage Club
gathered together to sample the selections at one of the finest
pizza places in town: Uno’s! We are fortunate to have this eatery
right here in West Chester. But maybe I shouldn’t call it a pizza
place so fast. I mean, Uno’s has so many options on their menu
that it may be doing them a disservice. We got to experience the
diversity of their menu for ourselves and let’s just say that we were
delighted with their dishes! One resident said,“People are not
aware that the menu is so diverse and delicious!’
We started the night off with four different appetizers. We
munched on Chips & Guacamole and the Grilled Cheese Stix
(which were well-liked), and the Shrimp & Crab Fun-DOO – a
cream blend of shrimp, crab, and parmesan topped with tomatoes.
This was excellent! We also sampled Pizza Skins, a deep-dish
crust with red bliss mashed potatoes. To make it even better, they
were topped with bacon, cheddar, and sour cream. Delish!
Then there were the salads too. They were fresh, crisp, and
colorful. They tasted just as good as they looked. We indulged
in Uno’s Chopped Honey Crisp Chicken Salad with chicken
tenders, mixed greens, vermicelli, bacon, bell peppers, toma-
toes, cheddar, and honey mustard. This was a great combina-
tion. But we equally enjoyed the Warm Walnut-Crusted Goat
Cheese Salad too with baked goat cheese atop field greens
with blueberries and blueberry pomegranate dressing. For
entrees, we had seven different choices. With Chicken Mila-
nese, Chicken Spinoccoli Pasta, Deep Dish Macaroni & 3
Cheese, Lobster & Shrimp Scampi, Lemon Basil Salmon,
Citrus BBQ Salmon, and Brewmaster’s Grill NY Strip with
Shrimp Skewers, we were like kids in a candy store. All of
these delectable dishes made our mouths water!
One of the highlights of the night was definitely the Brew-
master’s Grill NY Strip which was served with tangy Uno’s
Wowza Sauce, infused with Samuel Adams Boston Lager. One
resident commented that it had a great sauce. It was worth
every bite. Of course, who doesn’t like a good NY strip, right?
The shrimp skewers that came with it just made it that much
better. It really made us realize that we should stop thinking of
But we didn’t end there. We also enjoyed two excellent desserts:
Uno’s Deep Dish Sundae and the Bread Pudding with Salty Car-
amel Sauce. Both were excellent choices and would easily satisfy
any sweet tooth.
In case you haven’t guessed, we were stuffed with all of the deli-
cious dishes that Uno’s served us.That’s why a lot of us took
home some of our food too. That way we could enjoy it for the
days to come.
In case you didn’t have the opportunity to join us, be sure to
go and pay the friendly folks at Uno’s a visit.Their options will
amaze you from their extensive menu. You can find something for
everyone at this fine restaurant: health-conscious people, seafood
lovers, and even the salad eaters out there. Be sure to check out
their menu offerings online at www.unos.com. Or better yet, why
don’t you just stop in! They would love to serve you!
Uno’s as just a “pizza place,” and encouraged us to really appre-
ciate the rich diversity of our menu.
We also liked the Chicken Spinoccoli. In case you are trying to
decipher this dish,it was a rolled chicken breast filled with mozza-
rella, feta, broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, garlic and basil with penne in
a creamy pesto and chunky tomato sauce. It had a fantastic taste.
The Lemon Basil Salmon was also a hit with the residents. It
was very moist and flavorful, just the way it should be.We also
enjoyed the Citrus BBQ Salmon too with hints of pineapple,
orange, molasses, and tomato. This had a great taste.Who would
have known that salmon could taste this good?
Of course, we were also served sides with our entrees. We
enjoyed a Skinless Bake – red bliss mashed potatoes baked
with cheddar, bacon, and topped with sour cream, which was
perfectly baked. This was complemented by Roasted Seasonal
Veggies and Smashed Cauliflower (another popular dish at
our table).

DRISHTIQ Yoga:
Come Experience Its Fun and Flexibility Firsthand!
Are you stressed out? Could you use
an oasis from the hustle and bustle
from everyday life? Do you long for
increased flexibility? Or maybe you would
just like to practice your sun salutations
and downward dogs. If so, look no further
than DRISHTIQ Yoga, conveniently
located on 6209 Snider Rd in Unit D.
Amy Vetter, owner and instructor at
DRISHTIQ Yoga, lives here with her
family in Heritage Club. Originally from
Cincinnati, they moved to South Florida
14 years ago and moved back here during
2012 to be closer to family. She launched
the opening of DRISHTIQ Yoga this
year on March 8th and Amy could not
be happier. In case you didn’t know, Amy
was certified in 200 Hour Yogafox Vin-
yasa School of Yoga in Delray Beach, FL
and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-
200) and absolutely loves it!
DRISHTIQ Yoga is an oasis from the
stressors of everyday life. Light sconces
line the walls. Different colored lights are
used on the ceiling, which change colors
periodically and add to the ambiance of
the studio. Serenity, tranquility, and an
inner sense of peace are evident here. The
studio has everything you need for hot
yoga (heaters) and unheated yoga.There
are even ceiling tiles with words (like
peace and strength) inscribed in them,
which is helpful for focusing upon dur-
ing your yoga practice. They have props to
help you go deeper into your poses such
as blankets, bolsters, blocks, and straps.
What’s more is that they have classes for
everyone. They have classes for those with
limited mobility, such as Chair Yoga, Pre-
natal Yoga, and even Family Yoga, where
children 5–11 can come with their par-
ents and learn fun yoga moves. But there’s
so much more! They have a popular Yin
class where you can hold poses anywhere
from 5–7 minutes, with the assistance of
props, increasing flexibility while decreas-
ing tension in the body. DRISHTIQ
Yoga also has everything else you would
expect from a yoga studio, such as Morn-
ing Flow, Hatha Flow, Alignment Flow,
and Modified Ashtanga. For those that
are looking for more physically challeng-
ing classes, heated classes are offered such
as Warm Vinyasa Flow, Hot Vinyasa
Flow, Yoga Unplugged, Hot Power Yoga,
and Rise & Sweat! In their heated classes,
the temperature is heated to 95 degrees,
enabling participants to stretch with ease
and increase their flexibility.
DRISHTIQ Yoga wants everyone to be
able to participate in yoga in some form
or another. A special Community Class
is offered every Sunday at 9:30 AM for
$5. Non-members are invited to join this
class accompanied by Live Music per-
formed by different studio house musi-
cians each week.To balance your yoga
practice during the week, they also offer
a Run Club + Stretch class and a Mat
Pilates class too. So you can be sure that
you will find a class with your name on it!
DRISHTIQ Yoga also has a Book Club
on the last Friday of the month that is
free for Members and by donation for Non-members on dif-
ferent topics in yoga, health and wellness. They have thought of
everything, haven’t they?
Amy has also led her family in the pursuit of yoga. In fact, her
two sons and her husband get involved too! These classes help
them achieve balance as well as protect their muscles and joints
in other sports they play throughout the week. Yoga has proven
to help bond them as a family. Plus, it’s just a lot of fun!
Why don’t you join in the fun too? Amy and her staff at
DRISHTIQ Yoga would love to have you join them in a class.
With a total of 39 classes each week, you will be sure to find one
that fits perfectly in your schedule. For first time participants, you
can purchase a $15 Unlimited 7-day pass to try any class you like
all week long! DRISHTIQ Yoga will help reduce your stress, anx-
iety, and also increase your mobility at the same time. For more
information, just go to www.drishtiqyoga.com. Or just give them
a call at 513-204-0270.Your body will thank you later!

Twelve-year-old Bailey Nix has been play-
ing tennis since the young age of eight
and has the skills to prove it. Backhand,
forehand, and serving seem to come natu-
rally for this Heritage Club resident.
Bailey was proud to make the Mason
Middle School Tennis Team this year.
But it wasn’t easy, she tells me.There
were 40 other girls competing for just 24
spots.The competition was challenging
at times, but Bailey knew that she had
it in her.The girls played games to determine who would make
the cut. Those who won the most games were granted spots on
the tennis team!
The Mason Middle School Tennis Team practices Monday –
Thursday for up to two hours each day. That’s a lot, especially
when you consider that they have matches during the week too
(not to mention the daily helping of homework you receive as a
seventh grader!).
Fortunately, Bailey wasn’t alone on the Mason Middle School
Tennis Team. Her best friend and fellow Heritage Club neigh-
bor, Nicole, joined her. Bailey was thrilled Nicole made the
team, but wasn’t surprised, considering that Nicole’s parents
are excellent tennis players as is Nicole. In fact, Nicole helped
lead the way for Bailey to play tennis four years ago. Nicole
was playing tennis and Bailey wanted to try it out. It was love
at first sight for Bailey.
Now Bailey also attends tennis clinics at Riverside in Hamil-
ton.Tennis clinics help Bailey perfect her skills and give her an
added edge above her competition. Plus, it’s a lot of fun.
Bailey also loves to play tennis with her friends and challenge
them. It’s also a great way to get some exercise, she tells me.
With tennis, she is able to play the sport that she loves all year
around, making it the perfect activity for her.
One of Bailey’s key ingredients to success is her winning atti-
tude. She was taught by her tennis coach to always have a
positive attitude. You can’t get down on yourself if things aren’t
going the way that you like. Bailey has taken these life lessons to
heart and it has paid off her on the court.
In case you aren’t familiar with Bailey, she has been living in Her-
itage Club for over nine years now with her parents, Rebecca and
Dwight, and her brother, Corey, who just graduated from college.
Bailey loves the neighborhood, especially swimming and play-
ing tennis at the Club. Of course, she also has made some great
friends in the neighborhood, which makes it a great place to live!
Bailey has high hopes for her future and wants to become an
actress or a model, which is fantastic! We wish Bailey the best of
luck with her future and are so proud to feature her in the Heritage
HOMEfront as our Athlete of the Month! Way to go Bailey!

Tim and Ann Le, owners of Exquisite
Beauty Salon in the VOA shopping
center, had donated their services for the
party to Kindervelt 19 for their fundraiser
for Children’s Hospital, which was held
at the Heritage Club on April 27, 2013.
For her pedicure party on May 20, 2013,
Micki and nine of her friends arrived at
Exquisite Beauty Salon at 6pm. And the
salon, with its fifteen pedicure chairs and
nail technicians was ready and waiting.
With the help of her husband Rand,
Micki had already set up a table with
finger foods, champagne flutes, and a tub
of cold drinks. When the ladies walked
in they gathered around the refresh-
ments and began their usual greetings
to each other. These women love to
socialize, so much so, that Tim had to
remind all to please take their places
in the overstuffed, motorized chairs so
they could enjoy a massage while getting
their nails trimmed, buffed, polished,
moisturized, and in one case – enhanced
with a hand-painted flower.
This was a fun evening with food, drink,
and lots of chatter.Ten lucky ladies
walked out with summertime pedicures
–a few even got manicures –in the lat-
est fashion colors along with a souvenir
bottle of polish from Micki.
Heard on the way out: “What fun! Let’s
do it again!” and “Thank you, Micki!”
A pedicure party for ten people might seem like a different way
to entertain friends, but Micki Lindsay, the lucky recipient of a gift
card for the party from Exquisite Beauty Salon, breezed through the
challenge and made nine of her friends very happy in the process.

LUNCH AT THE LINKS, the annual fundraiser produced by
Kindervelt 19, was held this year on Saturday, 4/27, at Heritage
Club. About 120 women attended and were treated to sights
previously unseen. Karaman Jewelers was the presenting
sponsor and Zach Karaman brought along one of his design-
ers, Crystal Middleton, and lots of samples for the guests to
ooooh and aaaah over..
The tables this year were examples of the hostesses' imagination
-- Palm Beach Chic , Mardi Gras, Under the Sea, Bon Appetit,
Women Who Wine, Bee Happy, Japanese Cherry Blossom Fes-
tival, Meet Me on Bourbon Street, and If the Shoe Fits.
In addition the guests had an opportunity to buy a strip of raffle
tickets "as long as your arm" on a wagon filled with wine, booze,
and accessories, created by Kay Hillman.
Debbie Wagner designed the Wall of Purses, each one of which
contained discount coupons and small complimentary gifts.
The jewelry raffle this year - Ring Bling - featured a gorgeous
dinner ring, valued at $1100, and donated by Karaman Jewelers.
Additional raffle prizes included a pedicure party for ten from
Exquisite Beauty Spa, $200 in gift certificates from Saks Off
Fifth Avenue, and an overstuffed basket of scents from Dillard’s.
UC Women's Health Center, which opened in April at Univer-
sity Pointe, was the title sponsor, and all attendees were invited
to attend the open house on May 18 at 7675 Wellness Way,
Suite 4000, in the Medical Office Building South (attached to
the hospital).
Sponsors at the Platinum level of $1,000 included Kathy Fran-
cis Interiors, Madeline Hoge and Sibcy Cline Realtors North-
east, Sandra Peters and Comey and Shepherd who provided
valet parking, the Scholl Family Foundation, and the Windsor
Group, Inc.
Kindervelt 19's founding Co-President Rita Armentrout was
surprised and honored with a lovely crystal plaque.
The event netted more than $27,000.This was a joint effort of
Kindervelt 19 members and friends, but special kudos to Amy
Mueller and Sue Oswalt, event co-chairs; Madeline Hoge and
Michelle Moran Co-Presidents who headed up the Sponsors
Committee; Karen Iannuzzi and her committee of Sue Smith,
Erin Rafi, and Donna Waller who handled the silent auction in
toto as well as the check-out procedures.
Kindervelt 19 members wish to thank all who contributed in
any way to the success of this event, which benefited Cincinnati
Children's Hospital.

During the depths of the recession, the number of months of property listings swelled to as much
as 12-13 months, meaning the average listed property was taking 12-13 months to go under
contract. This was a market that was very favorable to buyers.
Fast forward to early 2013 and that days on market number was sitting at 6-7 months. This is
defined as a balanced market, one that does not favor sellers or buyers. As we’ve gotten into the
peak of the spring market, we have seen that number dip to under 5.5 months, but expect it to
rebound to 6-7 as we move through summer.
To many, this market doesn’t feel balanced, it feels as if we have a shortage of listings. While
some distant markets have inventories of 2-3 months, a market very favorable to sellers, greater
Cincinnati is not, so far, one of those markets. Still, a fundamental shift has taken place, from a
strong buyer’s market, to a very favorable seller’s market. Call today for a FREE market analysis.

Isaacs’ Shaker Hill

On June 20, 1992, Isaacs' Shaker Hill opened its doors for their
first day of business. This was the beginning of a dream becom-
ing reality for owners Tom and Kathy Isaacs.Tom Isaacs was in
the midst of a teaching career as the industrial arts teacher at
Little Miami High School and Kathy had retired from teaching
after 17 years to help pursue their new adventure.
The 1863 historical structure, surrounded with mature trees
was the perfect setting for their business they had envisioned.
After much prayer and thought they took their income tax
refund check and opened Isaacs’ Shaker Hill. Purchasing a
few select decorative accessories and gift items they started
their business in 3 rooms of the historical home. Their son
Tom Jr. began making furniture in the small existing wood-
working shop.
Tom Sr., wife Kathy, and two of the couples’ adult children have
all settled into their roles of the business since opening in 1992.
Daughter Becky does the interior design work, while Tom Jr.
manufactures the furniture.Tom Sr. and Tom Jr. combine their
skills as designers and craftsmen to create reproductions in
Shaker style.Tom Jr. has also created his own designs to add a
contemporary flair to the traditional Shaker design.
Cabinetry and furniture for every room in the home are displayed in
the showrooms. For furniture buyers, the experience of being guided
through the showrooms by master woodworkers and skilled decora-
tors brings a confidence to what can be an overwhelming experi-
ence. The historical home has 3 rooms on the first floor and 4 rooms
on the second. They are pleasantly filled with handcrafted heirloom
pieces. In addition to furniture, visitors can select from a variety of
home decor.People looking to redecorate or finish a room for the
first time have a wide selection of prints, candle accessories,lamps/
chandeliers, wreaths, pottery, and florals from which to choose.
June 20, 2013 marked 21 years of business. Many changes have
been made due to growth.Tom Jr. now operates in his state-of-
the-art facility since outgrowing the original shop. The show-
rooms have grown from 3 rooms to the entire historical struc-
ture. There's just something special about browsing for home
furnishings, decorative accessories and unique gift items while
absorbing the charm of the 1860's historical structure.

FINANCIAL FITNESS
Perhaps you’ve dreamed of living in Mexico, Ecuador, Panama,
Uruguay or Italy, the top five retirement locations abroad as
determined in a 2008 assessment by International Living Maga-
zine (internationalliving.com). Maybe you’ve been captivated by
the lavender fields of southern France or fascinated by rugged
New Zealand.
Retiring abroad and living well is certainly an achievable retire-
ment goal, but it’s not for everyone. It’s wise to put practical
considerations under a microscope before you make any irre-
versible decisions.
Testing Paradise
Bear in mind that while exotic locations around the world may
seem heavenly when you’re on vacation, they can lose their
charm when you’re living there day to day, buying groceries,
wrestling with the local utility agencies or the plumbing, han-
dling your finances, and taking care of your health. In addition,
cultural and language differences that may be inconsequential
during a holiday can surface with a vengeance once you’re a full-
time resident.
You may make a wiser decision if you give your choice a test
run. Before you pack up permanently and start making financial
arrangements, rent some accommodations for a month or two
and live your life as you expect to after you retire. Investigate
requirements for a local bank account and decide how you’ll pay
for healthcare needs. Will you gain access to your chosen coun-
try’s national healthcare system? Or will you need private cover-
age? Medicare won’t cover medical costs if you live abroad.
If you’ve answered these questions and determined you’ll be
comfortable living away from family, friends and familiar sur-
roundings, it may be time to start packing.

Study the Basics Before You Pack
If you’re the adventurous sort, keen on saving money

of their retirement nest eggs.

Less Stress;
More Nutrition
“Yes, stress-free vegetables are more
nutritious,” says Dr. Wesley Kline of Rut-
gers University. That doesn't require they
do yoga, Tai Chi, or meditation. Although,
those practices will likely reduce our stress.
Vegetable gardeners can make the most
of their hard work by keeping in mind
"three important things," advises Kline,
Agriculture Agent for the Rutgers Uni-
versity Cooperative Extension in Cum-
berland County, New Jersey. Choose
vitamin-packed vegetables you enjoy.
Grow them in healthy conditions.
"First select vegetables you like," Kline
encourages. "Then look at what has the
most nutritional value. If you like them
and they're nutritious, you have a winner!"
Thoughtful gardeners can tip the scale for
best quality yield. "Do anything you can
do to manage diseases and insects that
reduce stress on the plant," urges Kline.
"We want plants to be actively grow-
ing and getting enough nutrients, not
stressed."
Stressed plants have less food value.
Under stress, a plant's energy is diverted
to survival, fighting diseases and insects.
They expend more energy respiring and
less energy producing food through
photosynthesis.
Kline's Tips For Growing
Nutrition-Packed Plants
Remember that many plant diseases such
as downy mildew thrive in a moist or
humid environment. Many disease-caus-
ing fungal spores need moisture- such as
dew on leaves - to germinate and
cause infection.
Raised beds have better water drainage
than flat ground, especially important if
you garden in heavy soil.
Space plants far enough apart so air cir-
culates freely, allowing the soil and plant
parts to dry out.
Remove weeds as soon as you see them!
Weeds cause stress by competing with
vegetables for nutrients, water, and light.
Water the roots (not plant vegetation)
longer and less frequently at the soil level.
Roots absorb nutrients via water. Soaker
hoses are great for small gardens; drip
irrigation for large gardens.
Apply plastic mulch or an inch or two
of organic mulch like compost, shredded
leaves, or newspaper to conserve
soil moisture.
Before adding fertilizer, test garden soil
for phosphorous, potassium, calcium,
magnesium, and pH. Kline finds most
long-used gardens are over-fertilized
from years of routinely adding chemical
fertilizers. This is usually less of a prob-
lem when using compost and organic
fertilizers, which have less concentrated
amounts of nutrients.
