This document discusses mid-semester student feedback sessions called "Skids and Skiffs" that are conducted by a consultant to provide feedback to instructors on how their course is going. The consultant visits the class, the instructor leaves, and the consultant asks students three questions about what is working well, what is not working well, and any recommendations. The feedback is anonymous and reported in consensus to the instructor. Most students found the feedback beneficial and thought it improved the class and learning outcomes. The process takes about 20-30 minutes and helps instructors make changes mid-semester based on student input.
