Module 2 The foundation of management During the second module you will consolidate your strengths as a manager, and you will become aware of the fundamental principles of management and your own role. We will be spending time on how to use your strengths to fill your role as manager in the best way possible. 4. Module 3 Management in a practical contextThe third module is based on training management tools in order to improve your management skills. During this module you will gain insight into practical management tools, which will strengthen your competencies on the daily management. You will be working with: - Coaching as a management tool - Developing a healthy and cooperative work environment and culture - Change management - Managing conflicts - The challenging and important conversation - Personal development as a manager 4
5. Module 4 Team managementDuring the fourth module you will learn how to effectively develop and manage your team. You will gain insight into important elements of effective decision making in teams. A thorough personal feedback will give you insight into your own strengths in team management. You will be working with: - Development of effective teams - Team psychology - Effective decision making in teams - Training team management (through practical exercises) - Personal feedback on your performance as a team manager - Personal development as a manager 5
6. Module 5 Resource managementDuring the fifth module you will be working with management tools that will help you become more effective in relation to time management and prioritizing of resources. This module will also focus on the opportunities for networking and how to continue your development as a manager based on sharing experiences with other managers. - Delegation (sum up) - Time and resource management/prioritizing - Good management in your organization - Networking with managers - Finishing the program 6
7. Method The program will consist of a combination of presentations, individual exercises, group exercises, discussions in plenum, coaching, reflection, and feedback from the instructors as well as from the other participants. During the program you will learn to use tools in order to ensure optimal effect in your own organization. In between the modules you will be encouraged to implement the tools in your organization, and when you return to the program you will have the opportunity to evaluate your performance and share experiences with other participants. 7
