Una forte identità e mille differenze rispetto al resto d’Italia
e del Mediterraneo sono gli elementi che da sempre
contraddistinguono in modo unico e inconfondibile la Sardegna.
Isola del turismo ma soprattutto terra speciale e diversa.
Questa è la Sardegna. Una terra fiera e consapevole, un luogo
incomparabile per l’atmosfera e le emozioni che provoca,
per i colori, i profumi e i sapori che rimangono indelebili nell’anima.
Seguendo l’idea del Vittorini, il ritornare in Sardegna è un ritorno
all’infanzia perché questa terra induce quella meraviglia incantata
propria della più giovane età, grazie all’intensità delle sensazioni
che suscita. E ancora infanzia anche come forte legame
alle tradizioni più ancestrali.

A strong identity and a thousand differences
from the rest of Italy and the Mediterranean
are the elements that have always distinguished
Sardinia in a unique and unmistakable way.
Island of tourism but, above all, a special
and different land. This is Sardinia. A proud
and aware land, an incomparable place owing
to the atmosphere and the emotions it causes,
for the colours, scents and ﬂavours
that remain indelible into the soul.
Following the idea of Vittorini, the return
to Sardinia is a return to childhood because
this land induces that enchanted wonder
of the younger age, thanks to the intensity
of the sensations it excites. And even childhood
as strong tie with the most ancestral traditions.

Is Molas is an experimental project and the experiment is to work
with the elements, with the erosion of the wind and with nature.
Therefore this project takes the form of eroded mass shaped
by the wind, where the openings are cavities, where sudden
beams of light penetrate by cracks or large skylights to wet
the material of the bodies. The territory is the primary element,
then the buildings are developed adapting to the lines of natural
orography to preserve it without changing the natural outline of the land.
Is Molas è un progetto sperimentale e l’esperimento consiste
nel cercare di lavorare con gli elementi, con l’erosione del vento
e con la natura. Pertanto questo intervento assume la forma
di massa erosa e conformata dal vento, dove le aperture
sono cavità, dove fasci improvvisi di luce penetrano da fessure
o da grandi lucernari per bagnare la materia dei corpi.
Il territorio è l’elemento primario, le costruzioni quindi si sviluppano
adattandosi alle linee dell’orografia naturale per preservarla
senza modificare l’andamento naturale del terreno.

Vorrei che tutti avessimo, verso la montagna, alle nostre spalle,
un bosco di lecci, di mirti, sacro e profano nello stesso tempo.
Vorrei che guardassimo il mare, il tramonto camminando
sui tetti sinuosi delle nostre case. Simili per gentilezza,
per innocenza, al corpo umano, a organismi scomparsi da millenni.
Vorrei che la casa fosse un luogo protetto e aperto verso l’orizzonte,
con il caldo del camino, perché anche in inverno la casa è una casa.
E di giorno la forte luce della Sardegna immersa nel Mediterraneo
sia filtrata ma non nasconda troppo i cieli alti, tersi,
di un azzurro simile al colore dei ghiacciai.
In altre parole vorrei che questo angolo di Sardegna fosse
per il piacere dell’esistenza, la voglia di incontrare
gli altri e quella di una felice solitudine.
I wish everyone could have a wood of holm oaks, myrtles,
sacred yet all the while profane, behind us towards the mountains.
I wish we look at the sea, at the sunset walking over the meandering
rooftops of our homes. Similar in kindness and innocence to the
human body, to organisms that disappeared thousands of years ago.
I wish the house should be a place that is protected but open
toward the horizon, with the warmth of a ﬁreplace.
Because, even in winter, the house is a home and
during the day, the strong Sardinian sunlight, immersed
in the Mediterranean, ﬁlters but does not conceal the lofty,
clear skies of a blue not unlike the colour of glaciers.
In other words, I would like this corner of Sardinia to exist
for the pleasure of being, the desire to meet others
and that of a contented solitude.

Con Is Molas abbiamo costruito una nuova geografia.Tutto perfettamente
inserito nel paesaggio, aperto al dialogo con la luce del Mediterraneo
e le tracce delle sue civiltà. Le ville non seguono allineamenti rigidi
e sono costruite nel rispetto delle norme sulla bioarchitettura, con materiali
di origine naturale e di produzione locale. Uno studio cromatico
specifico ha portato al corretto inserimento nel paesaggio degli edifici.
Le superfici sono state scelte a confronto con le terre e le pietre
circostanti, e così intonaci “grezzi” e pigmenti naturali.
I rivestimenti in lastre di pietra, rimandano alla tipicità dell’architettura
nuragica. Un’oasi di silenzio ed esclusività in cui ampie dorsali verdi,
che discendono dall’oasi protetta del Parco Montano, si estendono
sino ad arrivare ai campi da golf in un continuum di natura e residenze.
With Is Molas we built a new geography.
All perfectly integrated into the
landscape, open to the dialogue with
the Mediterranean light and the traces
of its civilizations. The villas do not follow
rigid alignments and are built in
compliance with the rules of bio-
architecture, with natural materials
and of local production.
A dedicated chromatic study
on tones has led to the correct insertion
of the buildings into the scenery.
Tones of surfaces have been chosen
comparing with earth and the
surrounding stones, and so unprocessed
plaster and natural pigments.
The coatings made of stone slabs,
refer to the typical architecture of
nuraghi. An oasis of silence and
exclusivity in which large green ridges,
descended from the protected
Mountain Park, extend as far as
they reach the golf courses in a
continuum of nature and residences.

I due volumi della villa, leggermente
sfalsati sui lati dell’ingresso e del soggiorno,
vengono tagliati da una terrazza che
viene dolcemente prolungata attraverso
elementi portanti di legno che sostengono
copertura in arelle. Il patio sottostante
è collegato da una scala esterna.
The two volumes of the villa,
slightly offset on the sides of entrance
and living room, are cut by a terrace
that is gently extended by bearing wooden
elements supporting the coverage.
The patio below is linked
by an outside staircase.
I tre volumi che caratterizzano la villa
sono distribuiti attorno ad uno spazio centrale
coperto, tenuto unito da una terrazza.
Il “sistema villa” ruota attorno alla parte centrale,
completamente vetrata, che permette
di osservare la natura circostante e di accedere
allo stesso tempo a tutti gli ambienti interni.

are distributed around a central covered space,
and are held together by a terrace.

CLUBHOUSE
La Clubhouse, che rappresenta il fulcro
della vita sociale e sportiva del resort,
è anche il luogo che contiene tutti gli spazi
accessori e i servizi necessari alla pratica del golf.
Inserita sapientemente nella nuova configurazione
pensata e curata da Gary Player, ha una posizione
baricentrica ed elevata rispetto ai campi
e dalle sue terrazze si dominano tutti
e 3 i percorsi. L’ingresso principale, attraverso
una galleria su cui si affaccia il pro shop,
culmina in una ampia hall che si configura
come una vera e propria piazza interna
sulla quale si aprono gli ambienti della sala,
del lounge bar e del ristorante, per poi
accedere alla grande terrazza che si apre
verso i campi da golf e il mare.
Lo spazio è delimitato dalle pareti delle cupole
raccordate tra loro da ampie vetrate che si aprono
sul verde circostante. L’ambiente è reso ancora
più suggestivo da un gioco di chiaroscuri
creato da un sistema di lucernari che catturano
e proiettano la luce sulle pareti.
The Clubhouse, which is the core of social
and sporting life of the resort, is also
the place that contains all of the additional
spaces and the necessary services
for the practice of golf.
Ably integrated in the new configuration
designed and curated by Gary Player,
it is in a central and elevated position
and its terraces dominate all the 3 courses.
The main entrance, through a gallery
where the pro shop overlooks, culminate
in a large hall which is configured as a real
inner square with rooms, the lounge bar
and the restaurant, and then leads to the large
terrace that opens to the golf courses and the sea.
The space is delimited by the walls of the
domes connected each other by large windows
overlooking the surrounding greenery.
The environment is made even more impressive
by the games of light and shade created
by a system of skylights that capture
and cast the light on the walls.
SUITE HOTEL
L’Hotel Suite persegue, nelle zone
comuni, la stessa ricerca espressiva
della limitrofa Spa, con cui quasi
si fonde pur avendo accessi separati
ma un collegamento interno diretto.
L’insieme è molto diverso dall’hotel
centrale, un’ampia piazza fa da ingresso
alla Hall e l’edificio si disarticola
subito nel seguire la pendenza
del terreno qui più accentuata.
Le camere si aprono in una disposizione
a ventaglio e giacciono su due livelli,
divise in due gruppi, separati
dalla hall e dal ristorante; scale,
rampe e ascensori collegano i 2 livelli.
La terrazza che ospita la piscina
è posta in posizione baricentrica
alle camere offrendo una vista invidiabile

The Suite Hotel pursues the same
expressive search, in the common
areas, of the neighbouring Spa
with which almost merges,
while having separate entrances
and a direct inner connection.
The set is very different from the main
hotel, a wide square is the entrance
to the Hall and the building immediately
dismantles to follow the slope
of the land, here stronger. The rooms
open into a fanwise arrangement
and lie on two levels divided into
two different groups, separated from
the lobby and the restaurant; stairs,
ramps and lifts connect the 2 levels.
The terrace with pool is located
in a central position and offers an
unbeatable view of 180 ° on the courses.
HOTEL
L’hotel, posizionato sull’asse visuale
diretto alla zona archeologica di Nora,
struttura tutto l’intervento.
L’ingresso all’edificio giace esattamente
sulla visuale individuata, si materializza
in un lungo e piacevole percorso,
una passerella in legno di larice
su una vasca d’acqua che si percorre in
direzione est-ovest lasciando il costruito al
contorno, segnato da un porticato semi aperto.
Arrivando e salendo verso la imponente
ma essenziale hall d’ingresso si incontrano
a sinistra il ristorante principale con un’ampia
terrazza esterna mentre, sul lato destro,
si contrappone la terrazza con piscina
e un lounge bar; un sistema di vetrate
pieghevoli, completamente apribili
e trasparenti, consente la completa fusione
degli spazi, diventando un luogo di eccezione
per eventi speciali. La Hall, culmine
del percorso, è uno spazio di quasi 400 m2
che apre all’orizzonte e distribuisce
alle camere su due lati contrapposti,
attraverso percorsi che si snodano
tra giardini lussureggianti fatti di acqua
e di vegetazione mediterranea.
L’uso del dislivello del terreno e la
sopraelevazione del secondo ordine
di camere assicurano la vista panoramica.
The hotel, positioned on the visual
axis to the archaeological site of Nora,
organizes the entire project.
The entrance, situated exactly
on the identified view, materializes
in a long and pleasant course,
a larch-wood walkway on a basin
of water that runs from east to west,
leaving the built at the edge,
marked by a semi-open arcade.
Coming and going towards the imposing
but essential hall, we meet,
on the left, the main restaurant with
a large terrace and, on the right,
a pool on the terrace and a lounge bar.
A system of folding glass walls,
extendable and transparent,
allows the complete blending
of spaces thus expanding
the receptive activities and creating
an exceptional place for special events.
From the lobby of about 400 sq.m,
end of the path, the courses,
between lush gardens made
of water and Mediterranean bush,
lead to the rooms. The natural
slope of the land and the
super-elevation of the second series
of rooms assure a panoramic view.

La progressiva “naturalizzazione”
del progetto trova la massima espressione
nella zona terminale che ospita l’insieme
Spa – Hotel Suite; qui l’assialità
perseguita nell’Hotel centrale si disarticola
per seguire il dislivello del terreno
e aprire alla vista sui campi.
L’accesso all’insieme è fortemente segnato
dalle emergenze dei nuclei solidi
della Spa che ospitano la reception
con gli spogliatoi, le piscine interne,
le cabine per le cure estetiche,
il bagno turco, le cure terapeutiche
e il fitness. Le zone vetrate ospitano l’area relax,
l’area tisaneria e godono di ampie terrazze
con vista sui campi. Nei nuclei solidi
della Spa un particolare gioco di lucernai
sulle coperture voltate permette di raccogliere
la luce naturale zenitale creando un’atmosfera
densa di chiaroscuri. La successione
di spazi completamente chiusi e spazi
completamente vetrati consentirà di dare
ad ogni funzione una peculiare immagine
del luogo. Questo”edificio” rifiuta lo spazio
minimale privo d’emozione a favore
di un’intensa espressività di spazio,
luce, colori, chiusure, ed improvvise
aperture con squarci sul paesaggio.

The progressive "naturalization"
of the project finds its maximum
expression in the area that hosts
the complex Spa – Suite Hotel.
Here the alignment pursued in the main
hotel is dislocated to follow the slope of the
ground and opens to views on the golf course.
The entrance is strongly characterized
by the solid cores of the Spa emerging
as rocks from the sea and hosting the reception
with locker rooms, indoor swimming pools,
cabins for beauty treatments, steam
bath, therapeutic treatment and fitness.
The glazed zone hosts the relaxation area,
the area for herbal tea and have large
terraces with views over the courses.
In the solid cores of the Spa, a particular
game of light filtering through the
large skylights on the vaulted roof, allows
to collect the natural light at the zenith
creating an atmosphere full of light and shade.
The succession of spaces fully closed
and fully-glazed will provide a unique
picture of the place. This "building"
refuses minimal space devoid of emotion
in favour of an intense expressiveness
of space, light, colours, closures,
openings and sudden glimpses
of the landscape. A surprise-path.

Il nuovo “signature course” par 72,
su una superficie complessiva di circa 57
ha, avrà una lunghezza di circa 6.500 m.
Cuore dell’Is Molas Golf Club sarà la nuova
clubhouse progettata da Massimiliano
Fuksas in posizione baricentrica rispetto
ai 3 campi. Il driving range avrà 40 postazioni.
Il putting green e il campo approcci
completeranno l’area dedicata alla Golf
Academy. Saranno realizzate buche tipiche
dei percorsi mediterranei nella zona sud
caratterizzata da querce ed eucaliptus,
buche che ricordano i links nella zona
centrale e buche intarsiate nella vegetazione
mediterranea in prossimità della zona collinare
e rocciosa a nord. I tees saranno ampi
(dim. media di 550 m2) per consentire
varietà di lunghezza e traiettoria di gioco,
dove possibile sopraelevati, per consentire
una buona visione della buca. Inoltre,
saranno protetti da bunkers e ostacoli
naturali inseriti nel contesto morfologico.

Cultura e Sardegna si fondono in un magico accordo. E così nascono
una jam session nelle piazzette della città vecchia, un assolo di violoncello

Ancestral rites fused with the different cultures
of the Mediterranean. Sardinia is also this.
The age-old struggle between animal instinct
and human reason. So “Boes” and “Merdules”,
two masks typical of the Ottana carnival.
The former have the features of an ox and are
covered with sheepskin and carry a cluster
of bells on their shoulder. The Merdules,
"the guardians of the oxen," wear a mask of wild
pear with the features of an old deformed man.
Riti ancestrali fusi con le diverse culture del Mediterraneo.
La Sardegna è anche questo. La lotta millenaria tra l’istinto
animalesco e la ragione umana. Così i Boes e i Merdules,
due maschere tipiche del carnevale di Ottana.
I primi hanno le fattezze di un bue e sono coperti di pelli
di pecora e hanno un grappolo di campanacci a tracolla.
I Merdules,“i guardiani dei buoi", indossano una maschera
di pero selvatico con le fattezze di un vecchio deforme.
