3. Speaking and Listening –
Assessment 3: role play
Spend 15 minutes writing a brief script - this is to
guide your role play.
It will be a conversation between George and
Slim. You can decide what the conversation is
about - perhaps about Lennie, or it could be after
George has shot Lennie, or it could be about any
of the other characters, or the Great Depression
and the state of the country. It's up to you.
4. Remember the assessment
criteria:
Be convincing
Consider the language/ dialect
Show you understand the plot, ideas and friendships
in the novel
Use verbal and non-verbal techniques.
5. Planning Sheets
DO:
Use your notes and copies of the text to
create a planning sheet.
Use page numbers - make sure you
choose your quotations carefully!
DON’T:
Write a structured plan
Write out full sentences
