Updated SL registration with viewer 2

1. Second Life Registration For eXtension Professionals 6-2-10 LuAnn Phillips

2. CLICK THIS LINK GO TO THIS WEB PAGE

3. Click “Join Now”

4. Type any first name Then click “ Find Last Names”

5. You will be offered a randomized list of 40 last name choices from hundreds. Choose one, or click the “ Change” button to see another 40 choices until you find one that you want. Take your time with this. Your avatar name is like a user ID, and cannot be changed.

6. I chose “Helix” Now choose a starting look for your avatar. Don’t overthink this. You can change your appearance anytime. Create a password

7. Just a little personal info Then click here

8. Go to your email

9. Click the link to activate

11. Click “continue”

12. The SL viewer software should download automatically. Find in your download folder and install as you would any downloaded program Look for this hand icon on your desktop, and click it

13. The viewer will launch. Type your avatar name and password and click “Log In” (the picture is random)

14. Accept the Terms of Service

15. And you will arrive in the Fair Office on Morrill Log off by closing the viewer window ...or, start at “Step 1”

16. If you see this instead of your avatar, do not worry. Just be patient and it should appear very soon.
