After logging in to Moodle, click on the name of the course, say Demo Course,
in which you want to compose a reading material for the students.

Click on the Turn editing on button at the top right corner to switch to the editing mode.

Choose a topic, say Topic 1, that you would like to add the reading material to.

Select Compose a text page from the Add a resource... pull-down menu.

You are required to input a title into the Name field, say “Learning Theories”.

You can type in the instructions in the Summary text box.

In the Full text box, type in the content of the reading material or you can copy and paste text into the box.

However, this Full text box only accepts plain text, meaning that graphics or styles of formatted text cannot be displayed.

The default setting of the Window field is Same window,
meaning that the reading material will be displayed in the same window that your student is currently viewing.
11. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Composing Reading Material to Moodle Course
If New window is selected, the reading material will open in a new window.
12. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Composing Reading Material to Moodle Course
The default setting of the Visible field is Show. This means that the reading material can be seen by all students.
If the option Hide is selected, the students cannot see the link to the reading material and will not be able to access it.
13. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Composing Reading Material to Moodle Course
Click the Save and return to course button to finish.
14. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Composing Reading Material to Moodle Course
In Topic 1, the reading material link “Learning Theories” is created.
Now click on the Turn editing off button on the right top corner to leave the editing mode.
