Genre
The genre of magazine i have chosen is Hip-Hop / R&B. The reasons
of me choosing this is because i listen to the genre of music in my free
time. I have the most knowledge and understanding of the artists and
music which is in this category.
Usually on the front of the magazine they use an icon which i would
recognise and the population that also listen to this genre of music will
also recognise the icons on the front of these magazines.
The genre can be identified because of the main image on the front
and the cover line.

Coverline
The main cover line makes the mast head stand out a
little more and gives a small more amount of
information for the reader.
Barcode
The barcode is a series of lines that can be scanned
when the magazine is being purchased.
The colour red used on the cover instantly draws the
readers eyes to it. The colour connotes to urgency and

Headlines

Secondary Image
Columns
The headlines of this double pages spread are all in bold
with a small sub heading underneath that briefly
describes what the headline is about
The main image of the rapper “2-Pac” engages the
audience instantly. Because he was such a big icon and
everyone who knows about the industry knows about
him the image instantly draws the readers to the page.
The secondary image of rapper “Eazy-E” who is also a
massive icon and very well known in the industry. He is
hugely loved and respected in the community.
The columns are all laid out in the same way, each one
has the same amount of words and makes the page look
very clean and smart, this would be appealing for the
reader to look at.
