A compendium of some of the most relevant projects I did, together with some personal fast concepts.
Some of my projects are not in this portfolio due to confidentiality, but please feel free to ask me any questions you may have as I can be reached at lorenzocordella@yahoo.it or (+39) 333 911 8511. I appreciate you taking the time to review my qualifications.
3. io.I & io.II
Personal project
Handheld
vacuum cleaners
2020
1
Facts:
- “Io.I” has a minimal design, its structure takes
inspiration from Roidmi x20 geometrical
shape, with components on the same axis
- “Io.II” inspired by the Dyson current layout and
technical details; the center of gravity is
nearer to the handle
- For both versions charging docks and cleaning
accessories have been designed.
- Skills I have acquired during my most recent
work experiences
My job:
- Layout management, design, modeling &
rendering
- Interaction modalities and functional details
- Names: “io” means “I” and it refers to the design
centered on user

The emotion machine
2017
DS
Solid Works
4
Facts:
- In Positive Technologies, AWE emotion
induction (wonder, astonishment,
amazement) is studied due to the effects it
has on people that experience it: satisfaction
with their lives, a better sensation of time, life,
and body, improved creative capabilities,
resistance against persuasion, protection
of the environment, social involvement,
reduction of their aggressive behaviors
- The study has been featured on Frontiers in
Psychology Scientific Journal
My job:
- Develop 4 scenarios that cause a controlled
induction of awe
- Concept design of a Virtual Reality apparatus,
taking innovative companies offices as
target: the user explores the 4 environments
from inside an immersive personal VR cinema

15. Forest
1) forest with high trees
2) freshet with a big waterfall
that flows in it
3) surprise and vastness, the
high waterfall can be suddently
seen at the end of the path
4) bird and waterfall sounds
Mountains
1) a large belvedere, from
which it was possible to
admire an
awe-enhancing view of
mountains
2) surprise and vastness, the
view of mountains can be
suddently admired at the end
of the path
3) sound of wind blowing
through the mountains peaks
et al. 2016; Chirico et al. 2017)(from Fig.5.4 to Fig.5.11).
The path have the purpose to conducts the player inside a
preset walk, ensuring that he/she wouldn’t get lost inside
the virtual environment, whereas if this happened this
would frustrate the tester (Santos et al., 2009), and would
undermine the final daze of finding the high waterfall
(Chirico et al. 2017).
The researchers chose to reproduce the typical sounds of
this kind of forest, as the chirping of some birds, along
with the wind flowing through the fronds of the trees;
also, the more the participants approached the waterfall,
the more they could hear the sound of water that falls on
the rocks below.

Earth view from Deep Space
1) reaching the earth at the
exosphere distance, and
observe it
2) vastness given by the point
of view on the small life on
earth, together with watching
something hard to see in life
3) any kind of noise has been
introduced in this scenario
Neutral Environment
1) elements are flat or low,
because the vastness hasn’t
been pursued
2) the circular path make the
tester feel in a defined place,
there isn’t anything surprising
3) any kind of noise has been
introduced in this scenario

Facts:
- Goal is the efficiency in the tea preparation
process
- The infusion cage is inserted in a co-molded
tilting system made of PC-ABS and TPE-S
and that allows putting the cage both in an
infusing and in a not infusing position
- The whole lid is openable with a bayonet system
- Project developed with colleagues Simone
Bancora and Gianluca Tamburini
My job:
- Part of reverse modeling of a Koenig kettle
