EA Sports and EA Sports Canada were the main developers of FIFA 10, contracting other studios to develop versions for different consoles. HB Studios developed the PC, PS2, and PSP versions, while Sumo Digital and Exient Entertainment handled the Wii and DS versions respectively. Funded by the profits of previous successful FIFA games, the developers aimed to improve the game annually since 1994 and had a major revamp in 2007 to surpass their main competitor Pro Evolution Soccer. FIFA 10 was released on a wide variety of consoles including PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS, and mobile devices.
