1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Evaluation Question 6

2. From the process of constructing this product, I have learnt a lot about technologies involved. Firstly, I have learned the basics of using the camera and other equipment needed to film a short sequence. I have learned that to be successful in filming, you must also make mistakes in order to feel the need to be excessive in checking to have the perfect final product. My initial thought of using a camera was that it would be easy…my thought has not changed. However what I have realized is that there are many small mistakes that can be made in order for it to be very hard!

3. The buttons on the video camera are simple enough and the instruction sheets that come with the camera as well as the text that is printed next to the buttons are all there to make the task of filming all very simple. Moreover, the thing that made me struggle was putting the instructions into play. Once I had figured out how to use the recording equipment, I was well on my way with no further struggle.

4. Another huge dependency on making our media product is the Adobe Premier Pro program that we used to edit our film and put all of the footage together into a format which can be viewed. Initially, it was a struggle to use this as there are many different techniques to be used in order to have the necessary finishing touches as well as the essential effects that must be included in order for the film opening to be successful.

5. However, as more and more practice went into this program from both me and my partner, we were able to navigate around and use the technology on offer to our advantage. This included simple tools such as the ‘cut’ tool where we were able to cut our shots to the right length in order for our opening to run smoothly as we as more complex tasks such as importing different sound effects to the program and placing them where necessary.
