A Virtual Intertextual Tour across Ancient
Entrepeneurship
Reports about activities April 2016 – August 2016
AVITAE (A Virtual Intertextual Tour across Ancient Entrepreneurship) aims to blend the
study of the classical world with the analysis of examples of ancient entrepreneurship:
students are going to follow the footsteps of the first entrepreneurs, study the evolution of
entrepreneurship through time and finally apply what they have learnt in theory into their own
entrepreneurial ventures; Classical world, entrepreneurship, digitalization: this is the
ambitious trilogy AVITAE relies on.

We started our activities in March by assigning to our students to get in touch with their
mates from the other countries so as to take their turn in using the Instagram account. In turn,
we assigned to groups of students the articles for the April newspaper issue.
Of course, we continued working on the Agora project scheduling meetings with our students,
getting their reports about their preparations, we did the necessary shopping and we started
staging it.
We handed in the November 2015 – February 2016 report.
We presented the outcomes of the project and gave newspaper copies to my school Advisor,
Mr Skiadas on 3/3.
We contacted the Ancient Agora Museum in Athens so as to get inspiration about the Agora
project but also to let them know of the work we have been doing.
In April we sent a presentation of the project to Mr Michalis Politis, Associate Professor in
the Ionion University, Corfu, as he showed interest in our activities. Next year we are
planning to seek the University’s collaboration in any form they are willing to offer it.
We prepared the trip to Spain, made the final staging of our Agora presentation and we
designed our poster.
In May, and as soon as coming back after the trip and the Easter holidays we reported on the
Tenerife experience. We gave around the new newspaper issues.
We went through to the minutes of the meeting in Spain so as to organize our time and the
new activities.
Despite the final exams hassle we tried planning Year2 AVITAE Day.
We uploaded a detailed description of Activity 11 so that everybody would have a common
ground in preparing it.
In June we visited the Junior Achievement site so as to get prepared for the mini companies’
activity in Cyprus.
On 17/6 (last day of the final exams) we had our AVITAE Day.
We formed the group that will travel to Cyprus and we started preparing them for the
forthcoming activities. We brain stormed them on the subject: gave them the essentials of
what it is to be done, some material to get them inspired and asked them to come up with
concrete proposals in September.
Students were also assigned the August issue articles. They met during the summer to discuss
their ideas and write the articles. They reported to us on the outcomes of their meetings.

project” . Javier Mederos, a teacher of the school explained how the Cabrera Pinto students
work in teams to build their own prototypes.
We also had a Tour in La Laguna, visiting Casa Lercaro (History Museum) and La
Laguna Market. After that we visited the exhibition of the "Universal Markets" made by the
students and chose the best one.
On Friday, our students explained about the Teide National Park because we were
going to visit it the following day, and after that we went to the House/Museum of Wine and
Honey and to visit Monje Cellar, where we learned all the different stages in wine
producing. Finally, we had lunch in a wonderful restaurant, with a view of the wine yards and
the sea. Later we went to the Science and Cosmos Museum.
Next day we took a bus to the Teide
