2. My goal is to split up the book in to eight
sections and pick a song that describes each
one.
3. I chose Good Day by Nappy Roots as the
song for the beginning of the book because
life in Maycomb for the kids was pretty
much perfect. As it says in the song, nobody
cries because of something terrible and
nobody dies. They are “saving the trouble
for another day”.

4. Dill came to Aunt Maudie’s house and also Scout
started school. The song for the second part of the
book that I chose is Start of Something New from
the High School Musical Soundtrack. I chose this
because of what I explained earlier; the friendship
between Dill and the Finch kids and a new life in
school.

5. Boo was looking after Scout and Jem when he
gave them the presents and especially when
he put the blanket around Scout. This song
exemplifies the trait of caring very well.

6. Miss Maudie’s house caught on fire and Ring
of Fire by Johnny Cash is about fire. After
Miss Maudie’s fire the book focused more
about the rape case than the kids so it was a
changing point in the book.

7. When people make fun of you or talk behind your
back, you usually get sad. When you’re sad you
have to be strong or else you will just hang your
head down. When Atticus agreed to defend Tom,
many people talked bad about him, along with
Scout and Jem. This is when they had to be strong.

8. Bob Ewell and Mayella are lying while they are
testifying because really Bob hurt Mayella, not
Tom. White liar by Miranda Lambert is about a
person that is lying and I think it portrays the fact
that lying is bad very well.

9. This song is great because it is all about
revenge. Kelly Clarkson has a very bold
voice in it, and it reminds me of Bob Ewell
trying to get revenge on Atticus by
attacking Jem and Scout.

10. I chose this song because when Scout was
standing on the Radley’s porch after walking
Boo home, she finally realized what Boo had
been doing for them. I Can See Clearly Now is
a great song about fully realizing something,
and in this case, it is Scout realizing what Boo
had been doing for the past couple years.
