2. Finding an article publishedin the year you were born Use a database, such as Biological Sciences to search for an article on your topic and select the publication year. Check our library catalog to determine if we have the JOURNAL in print in the year you need. Go get the journal off the shelf and make a copy of the article. You may borrow BOUND journals for up to one week.

3. Step 1 Choose the ‘Databases’ tab from www.esf.edu/moonlib Step 2 Find a database by typing the name in the search box

5. Step 1 Select ‘Advanced Search’ and input search terms Step 3 Your search terms here Choose ‘Publication Year’ Step 2

6. Step 1 This article is found in the journal Nature – do we have it in print in 1988?? Step 2 Press the SULinks button; then check the ‘Holding information’ to see if we have the journal in print.

7. Press the GO button under ‘Holding information’

8. The catalog entry tells us that this journal, Nature is: In Moon Library Periodicals The call number is N385 The volume needed from 1988 is on the shelf

9. Tips for using Moon Library Bound journals are on the right side of Moon (as you enter the library). Bound journals circulate for 1 week. Books can be checked out for the entire semester. Copies cost .10 and the machine accepts coins and dollar bills. The copier will also allow you to scan to a USB drive (for free). You need to deposit .10 to start, but the coin will be returned.
