Academic videos are not designed to replace the teacher, but rather enhance instruction. Thus, they are used as an aid in helping students develop an understanding through context, history, and examples so that ideas resonate. The goal is to engage students by showing locations, events, or experiments they could not see otherwise. We present five basic steps to creating academic videos.
