skills to our students
It is indeed GOOD NEWS that
the young minds can and does
continue to develop greater
capacity for awareness and
complexity.
WHY ?
5. Cultural Diversity an Inter Disciplinary Approach
Cultural Diversity the topic itself is by their
very nature interdisciplinary or
multidisciplinary. This project is widely
encouraged in Higher Education more thought
is needed concerning the whole notion of
interdisciplinary teaching and learning. I have
chosen this topic with the following Aims :
To understand the importance of diverse
culture.
To develop skills for working
collaboratively in a team.
To develop creative skills and skills of
performing art.
6. Assessing the student population
I have selected a group of 40 students from different age
group (12 -17 years) for this project.
Divided selected students in to 5 separate groups each of
having 8 students and gave a specific tasks.
Team 1:Prepare flags of different country (like India ,
Indonesia ,Romania and Srilanka)
Team 2:Celebrate different festivals of own country .
Team 3:Learn the national anthem of different country.
Team 4:Prepare question and interact with the friends
online(Skype , Wikispaces , EDMODO)
Team 5:Prepare PowerPoint presentation on festival , food
and traditional dress of different countries
7. Activity Plan for one month

Monday Drawing Team1 will prepare flags and banners
Wednesday Singing Team3 will learn the national anthem of different
countries.
3 day in week. Computer Team 5 will prepare presentation.
Every day 1st period of English ,
History ,Geography and
General knowledge
Team 4 will prepare question on culture and
tradition .
8. Team 1 :
The students made the national flag of India , UK , Srilanka and Romania.This
improves their drawing and creative skills.
9. Team 2:
The students are celebrating festival of lights- Dewali. This
develops skill for working collaboratively in a team.

10. Team 3 :
They are singing our national anthem. This will improves the singing capability among
the students and also make them aware about the national anthem of other countries.
11. Team 4 : Brainstorm using concept wheel
They are preparing the question on our culture and
tradition. This improves the critical thinking , English ,
General Knowledge , History and Geography
12. Team 5 :
By making PowerPoint presentation students will learn the various commands of
ppt and this improves the ICT skill among them.
13. Skills and Assessment
Observation based numerous benefits, such as the following:
Students exhibited excellent on-task behavior.
Students worked collaboratively.
Multiage teams formed within the multiage classes.
Students were engrossed both as presenters and as the audience for the half-
day performance task presentations.
Students used a wide range of presentation products, such as video, debate,
sculpture, and so on.
Students demonstrated depth of understanding of topics as a result of their
sustained interest around various questions .
Fewer recess problems occurred during this period.
enjoyed the process and the results.
14. Final Review
Interdisciplinary learning increases students' motivation for
learning as well as their level of active engagement. In contrast to
learning skills in isolation, when students participate in
interdisciplinary learning they recognize the value of what they are
learning and become more involved in it.
