Food Prep/Dining
Parker Oaks
Winnebago,Mn
Months of Experience: 1
I wasn't aware at hire, but I had 2 different shifts:
If dishwasher that day: you are to make sure the dish washing machine is constantly running & moving the
dishes through. Also had to air dry & put away what was dry while keeping the machine rolling. That's if,
the dishes were dry. Kind of help the Food Prep worker at times. At 11am, you would leave the
dishwasher, and Deliver Food to 2 different locations outside the business. Upon return, hurry up & wash
what's been piling up while gone & clean out the totes used for delivery.
Allot...of standing & bending/lifting! Then, after your shift is done-take out all the garbage. It was allot too!
If you were Food Prep/Dining that day: Set up trays to be brought to residents rooms. Set up food to be
served at designated times. Serve, if needed. Set up continental breakfast & serve to each resident. Set
up dining tables after cleaning them off, sanitizing them and replacing all the tableware. Restock
condiments & storage rooms. Other misc tasks were involved. Take out the garbage.
2. Cable Assembler & Misc
Nortech Systems-Aerospace
Blue Earth,Mn
Months of Experience: 60
I began the job as a cable assembler for Grumman cables. The longer I was employed, I advanced to
misc other things. I terminated, used a crimp machine as I have in other labor jobs before, I tested. I
organized. Trained in on new cables if needed, and trained other new employees in cables that i've
learned. I learned approximately 7+cable assemblies there. I cleaned my area, not because we were told
to, but because I don't like a sloppy mess around me when i'm working. We were aloud music
w/headphones while we worked, but that was changed towards the end, although still not clear why. It
helps employees work better I think. It does me anyway. We worked 8hrs shifts way back when I had
started, but was quickly changed to 9-10hr days. I don't really mind those hours, but if only the paycheck
would show.
I soldered; although I don't prefer it. We were re-licenesed after 18months. Had to take a class &
everything. I never soldered while working there, it didn't make sense. I also worked in the molding
department; but only as a cleaner, or trimmer. That wasn't real enjoyable. Got boring fast. I like to be busy
all the time. Multi-task jobs are great. Makes the day go faster. If one does the same thing everyday, day
after day...it tends to get boring, and the person goes insane & may want to quit. I hung in there. But was
laid off in 09' with alot of other employees.
Staff Person
Elm Homes
Blue Earth,Mn
Months of Experience: 18
I assisted disabled or challenged adults. These adults would go to work, just like you and I. They would do
most their personal need care, but we as staff were there to assist when needed. Our main duties was to
make meals, clean the house they lived in; at times, if the resident was able-he/she would clean their
room, make their bed or whatever they were able to do. Our main goal was to make these people as
independant as possible. We took them to events, Church, Medical appts, Dental appts & other things. We
cooked the meals for them, unless they were able to assist, they were advised to. At the end of every shift,
the staff had to log the days events about each resident of the home they were caring for. In this log book
was the name of each resident.
Cable Assembly-Labor
Waters Instruments
Rochester,Mn
Months of Experience: 60
I did a variety of jobs at this employment. I started off as a cable assembler running a machine called the
Sonic Welder. I would also test cables, line the corresponding wires to each other in accordance to the
print & weld together. I used shrink tubing, placed it where needed and heat shrunk it. I cut wires
according to length; as needed. I was also in a soldering class, but do not like soldering. The job required
it, so I did it for the sake of the job position. I trained in new employees as needed. I worked overtime if
needed, or made up my hours if I wanted to. At this job, you had a choice. Clean our areas when the shift
was done. I have no problem with a clean area. I worked 2nd shift & liked it. At times when the work load
was slow, we would re-supply the parts containers, this meant counting parts &/or taking inventory of what
was available or needed to be ordered.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS
I am a fairly quick learner. I am very open to learning new things-I just want to be given that chance. I
have experience with computers. I'm learning the programs, but I am not fluent with them, yet. If given the
chance to be taught, I feel I will do just fine.
NOTES AND ACTIVITIES
I enjoy cooking. I enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy working with infants, or kids younger than 4-5. I also have a
passion for animals. Working with animals or Infants would be my ideal position. I also enjoy working with
wood, but haven't the opportunity to work much with it.
I've also spent a few years working in the field during Harvest; or Spring, but usually in the Fall-Plowing or
Chopping stalks.
