Thanks:-On behalf of the students of the UM Studies Program at TU Berlin -Members of the community, representatives of the municipal government. Members of the media -translators -Professors -GIZ, especially Ms. Lenka Voltoja- May 18-20: Groups of three to four researchers conducted field work based on the five thematic elements mentioned earlier -Research took the form of -Surveys and Interviews, observation, traffic and mobility assessment, inventories of building use and condition,
-Field work followed by period of rapid data processing -served to create tools for further analysis, such as the maps above-Also served to disseminate information obtained by each of the thematic groups with the other participants in the research project

-Following the data processing, each thematic research group prepared a SWOT analysis based on their findings, -focusing on the S W O T, inherent to the physical attributes and the specific socio-economic context identified in the focus area-After lengthy discussion, the elements of the thematic SWOT analyses were combined into what we have called an “Integrated SWOT Analysis” -We consider to be the most representative of the focus area as a whole-The results of this integrated SWOT analysis were used as a basis for and a justification of the proposed action areas of the pilot projects, the descriptions of which will form the majority of today’s presentation-To provide a background for these pilot projects, I will briefly introduce the results of the SWOT analysis of the focus area
-As you can see here , the results of the SWOT analysis were rather detailed-A large number of Strengths were identified in the area, including those relating to the -Meaning or Significance -Physical and Social Characteristics -Functional Uses -and Residential makeup
The group also identified favorable conditions, leading to the potential for a number of opportunities in the area,Namely-Possibility for tremendous improvement of the region that accompanies heightened awareness of the historic and cultural significance of the area-Possibility to increase mobility networks between, especially relating to the city center and Vysokj Zamok-Possibility to increase economic potential of the region-Use of open-spaces as multi-functional venues And-Use of the support and willingness of the residents to invest their own labor and capital into the neighborhood
