children?
It allows students to form positive attitudes about
others and themselves.
It helps students to develop the skills that are
required to lead a happy and healthy lifestyle.
PDHPE promotes physical activity in a fun and
encouraging school environment.

3. Why teach PDHPE in primary
schools?
Teaching PDHPE to primary school
students is very important and gives
students life long skills in -
• Communicating
• Decision making
• Interacting skills and confidence
• Problem solving
• Safety awareness issues
• Positive relationships
PDHPE is not just about sport, it is life
long healthy skills!!

4. PDHPE is important to primary school children – it is
taught in a caring and fun environment. Children
develop their knowledge and understanding of :
• Active lifestyles
• Dancing skills
• Growth and personal development
• Personal health choices
• How to be safe
• Fun games and sport activities
• How to be a part of a team/teamwork

5. There are many benefits for promoting and teaching
PDHPE to our school students.
The skills that are taught are ones that the students can
use in their everyday life, and can carry with them into
adulthood.
If children learn these skills at a young age it lets them
develop the habit for them to use the skills everyday.
