• To support circumpolar mobility for
non-traditional students
10 YEARS OF VERDDE
• 2004-develop concept, sign agreement—
the first UArctic thematic network is
born!
• 2005-NAC faculty visit SUC; SUC
students complete credit course at NAC,
SUC faculty visit NAC
• 2006-NAC students and faculty complete
action research project at SUC
• 2006—NAC instructor teaches for 3
months at SUC
• 2007-09 mobility slows down
VERDDE CONTINUES
• 2009 Indigenous knowledge sharing in
Human Services—NAC students and
faculty present at SUC
• 2010 Canadian federal funding support
dries up
• 2010-12 Sami students study at NAC,
informal SUC faculty and staff visits
• 2013 International conference on
Indigenous Education in Iqaluit—Verdde
seeks new partners
• 2014 Verdde Agreement renewed, new
initiatives developing
Arctic College students head to
Norway in 2009
