2. BACKGROUND
First, I opened a new, blank A4 page and set
the background to a colour that matched my
colour scheme using the paint bucket tool at
the side bar.
3. MASTHEAD
I then used the text tool to add in the masthead for the
magazine. After that, I chose what font I wanted to use
and embossed the text to be sharper and I also added an
inner bevel to the font.
4. MAIN IMAGE
Additionally, I inserted my main image into Photoshop,
cropped it and dragged it over to the background
colour. I then used ‘CTRL + T’ to resize and enlarge the
image to make it a medium close-up shot.
5. POSITIONING STATEMENT & ISSUE NUMBER
I then added the positioning statement and the
issue number to the magazine.
6. MAIN COVER LINE
Furthermore, I then included my main cover line ‘day in
the life of a sixth former’. I inserted it using the text tool
on Photoshop and then changing the colour of the text
and the font.
7. COVER LINES
Next, I added in my cover lines. I made them all different
sizes throughout the page; I used the shape tool to create
the circle around ‘review’ to ensure it stood out more. The
cover lines also act as a border to the image.
8. BARCODE, PRICE, DATE AND WEB ADDRESS
I later added the barcode using an image from
Google which I later cropped with the crop tool.
Then, I added the price on to the page with the
text tool and changed the colour to black.
Additionally, I included the date and the web
address also using the text tool on Photoshop.
