What I wish I had
known when I was
22

2. When I was 22, I was just returning
from living outside my home and my
country for a year.
I had not finished University, since I
skipped it. I didn’t know what I
wanted in life. But I had the passion.
Here’s what I wish I had known
3. 1. I am usually right
I wish I’d known that it was a right thing to
choose an experience of a foreign country
instead of going to study something that I didn’t
care about.
People around me said I was wrong. Life proved
I was right. If you trust yourself, you most likely
are right when it comes to decisions about your
life.
4. 2. Experiences beat theory
I have always chosen experiences over theory. I
experience and then learn how I can use the
theory to master my experience.
Experiences are an advantages in job search,
starting your business and building confidence.
Except in medicine and some other similar
areas, but still. Experience beats theory.
5. 3. Learn as much as you can.
I did not learn Russian properly, didn’t care
about chemistry, math, sometimes I did not
listen to fantastic people around me. That will
come and bite you. The more you know, the
more oportunities you have. The more unique
you will be. Learn about everything, at least
KNOW where to learn from. You can never
know too much.
6. 4. Put yourself to the test
It is good to have a safety-net, but at
the end of the day you will never know
how far you can go if you don’t try.
7. 5. Don’t stress about not
knowing what you want
It will come and go. Instead, use to the
max what you have right now and pray
that one day you will understand why.
8. 6. Be physically active
If you start working, also start physical
activity and use time for fun. Never let
yourself fall into “only work” lifestyle. You’ll
get sick. Active and balanced lifestyle will
save you.
9. 7. Forget the past.
We all go through tough things in our childhood
up to our teens and Uni. Forget them. Forgive
them. Worrying does you no good. I know it is
easy to say, but this is the only way to fly higher
and reach your potential. Forget the past hurts
and limitations that you have, instead focus on
the decision to choose yourself.
10. 8. Be great at failing
If you have never failed, you never have tried. If
you never fail, you might constantly be afraid of
failing. Neither one is a good thing. Some of my
greatest achievements (that make me happy)
come from failures. Not failing is the biggest
misconception of our time. I wish I’d known to
let go and fail more, because the more you fail
…
11. … the more you live and laugh
and enjoy life and its’ surprises.
12. Greetings to all graduates of yet
another chapter of life
