2. What is Engagement?
Definition of Engage....
1. Occupy, attract, or involve (someone's interest or
attention).
2. Cause someone to become involved in (a conversation
or discussion)
Why is this important?
Facebook is a social tool. The key to using it for business
is to engage your fans, help them become active. Once
active they become part of your salesforce.
3. What To Post?
1. Post what they're interested in not just what you want.
2. Combine information and entertainment.
3. Share funny stories.
4. Use fill in the blank posts.
5. Post current, relevant information.
6. Post pictures.
7. Post short videos.
8. Share behind the scenes posts.
9. Share personal pictures that relate to your business.
10.Post URL's
4. What to Post?
1. Ask questions - yes&no, fun & fast, edgy
2. Ask for help.
3. Use Where, When, Would, and Should questions.
4. Offer a special something if they are online now.
5. Offer a discount based on the number of likes at the
end of a given time.
6. Instead of "contest" use "event" or "winning"
7. Use quotes from people you know - tag them.
8. Post different types of posts on different days.
9. Showcase industry leaders - tag them.
10. Short posts are better than long posts (80 characters)
5. When to Post?
1. Post when readers are online.
2. Post time zone specific.
3. Post several times a week (1-4)
4. Schedule posts outside business hours (8pm-7am)
5. Focus posting Wednesday - Sunday.
6. Post at least 1-2 times a day.
7. Don't post Friday afternoon (least engagement)
8. Best average time to post is 1pm-4pm
9. Schedule posts during busy or vacation times
10. Schedule Facebook time
FYI - your post has about a 3 hour shelf life. Within 3
hours it will have received half or more of its traffic

1. Post with personality.
2. Sign a companY post
3. Use your personal voice on your business page
4. Post personally on your business page.
5. Share your business post on your personal page (but
spread it out please)
6. Tag pictures business to business
7. Personally tag pictures (even if a person isn't in it)
8. Change your Cover Picture.
9. Give Fans specific instructions - comment, share, tell
me
10. Direct Fans to posts by others
7. Engage Back!
1. Answer questions.
2. Thank them for liking a post.
3. Connect with new fans through a post or direct
message.
4. Direct message active fans.
5. Post on your Fans business page
6. Like your Fans' business page as your business.
7. Like posts on your Fans' business page.
8. Schedule a live chat time for your fans with a purpose.
9. Respond timely
10. Friend some of your fans so you can tag them in posts.
8. Use Facebook Features
1. Review your Facebook Insight reports to determine
what people are engaging with, demographics and how
viral your content is.
2. Use Events.
3. Create Milestones.
4. Use new Offer feature.
5. To reach more of your fans consider Promoting certain
posts.
6. Use Notes for short FAQ's, blogs and information.
7. Create photo albums around areas of your business.
8. Schedule your posts right in Facebook.
9. Highlight an important post.
10. Pin an important post to the top of the newsfeed.
