The media center had a busy and productive month of October with over 1,800 students signing in and 126 classes visiting. Staff received technology and reading training, and teachers dressed up for Halloween to raise money, with the media center staff dressing as information scientists. At the end of the month there were over 700 books checked out, nearly 200 overdue books, and unpaid fines of $125, while the media center contained over 14,000 books.

Ms. Dees,
I have had a wonderful experience in your media center this month during the month of
October. I would like to share with you some of the happenings of the media center.
Students signed in: 1,819
Classes visited: 126
Staff Development:
Ms. Hagey held a staff development for technology showing the different uses of
the Lumens Ladibug document cameras.
Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Neisler held a staff development for social studies teachers
that focused on critical reading.
Halloween Dress Up:
To raise money for Future Teachers of America, several teachers dressed up
and competed for money. There were many great costumes, but I still think
ours was the best. We were information scientists!
At the end of October, there were 735 books currently checked out, 188 overdue books,
$125 unpaid fines and 14,143 books in the media center.
Sincerely,
Lauren Hagey
