• High school librarian at Olathe East High School (2,100+ students)
• School librarian for past 17 years
• Earned PhD last year from Emporia State University’s School of
Library and Information Management
• I studied how teens in school libraries use technology devices
(smartphones, for one) to bypass required filtering so that they can
interact with information on their own terms
• Teach graduate school part time for my university
• Continually learning from staff and students, especially in the area
of technology
• My personal teaching goal is to help grow lifelong learners who are
also confident, savvy information users.
