2. The Group
The group Rascal Flatts first began with two cousin, Jay DeMarcus and Gary Levox. These two
cousins were both from the Columbus. Ohio area. The first idea of becoming a group started with
Jay when he managed a musical career with a Christian pop group. He soon convinvced his cousin
Gary to leave his job in 1997. With some work, they began to have gigs at a Printer’s Alley club
with a part-time guitarist. Luckily, one night the guitarist wasn’t able to make it, so Jay had a guy
names Joe Don Roone come into place. They soon asked Joe to become apart of the group
forming Rascal Flatts.

4. Opinon
The group, Rascal Flatts, is a very great and recognizable group. Not only can they produce and
perform great music, but they’re also known for their charitable work. They have raised three
million dollars for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. This comes to show that not only are
they interested in only their fame and producing great music, but they’re great at giving back as
well.
