• 1. Fase precongelamiento:
• secundaria al proceso de enfriamiento,
previo a la cristalización de hielo.
• Los cambios histopatológicos son
secundarios a la vasoplasticidad
transendotelial y filtración plasmática.

• 2. Fase de congelamiento: descongelamiento:
• La temperatura tisular desciende hasta el punto de
congelamiento con una temperatura ambiental
que varía entre los –6°C a los –15°C.
• Debido a la emanación de calor por parte de los
tejidos la piel se congela cuando alcanza los –4°C.

• 3. Fase de estásia vascular:
• Alteraciones en los vasos sanguíneos,
incluyendo espasticidad y dilatación de
estos.
• filtración plasmática, estasia vascular y
“shunts” arteriovenosos.

• 4. Fase de isquemia tardía:
• El resultado final de la trombosis y shunts
arteriovenosos.
• Disfunción autonómica, la gangrena y la
isquemia.
• Entrecruzamiento entre las diferentes fases en
un mismo momento
