Causes Of Global Warming
Discovering the Main Cause of Global Warming
Upon researching the causes of Global warming, it was discovered that humans are the main cause
of global warming which contributes to the rising average global temperatures. The theory of global
warming was originated in the late 1850's by a scientist named John Tyndall. Tyndall discovered that
some gases block radiation, and trap heat on the earth's surface. He then suggested that the
accumulation of these gases to a high level, causes climate change. Current research shows that
global warming is caused by carbon dioxide which is released into the atmosphere by humans.
Smoke produced by factories, vehicular exhaust, and the burning of fossil fuels such as coal in
power plants are the primary sources of carbon dioxide. When carbon dioxide is released into the
Earth's atmosphere, it steadily accumulates because it cannot escape into space. Humans are
responsible for the causes of Global Warming.
Global warming can also be referred to as the greenhouse effect, which can be defined as the
rising temperature of the earth's atmosphere. "Since about the mid 1800s, the worldwide average
temperature has been going up about 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (1.4В°F), or 0.8 degrees Celsius
(0.8В°C), much of it after 1970 During that upward trend , many cold and warm periods have
come and gone" (Colligan 12). Warming of the earth has been increasingly changing over the past
years but was this was not viewed as a great problem. When a molecule of

Causes and Effects of Global Warming Essay
As Robert Frost once said, " Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice. From what I've
tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire." This excerpt can relate to the idea of global
warming. Global warming can be defined as an increase in the earth's average atmospheric
temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse
effect. During the past 10,000 years the earth has been in an ever–growing cycle that has significantly
changed the climate. These changes are becoming more prevalent in our world today in the past 150
years. Scientists have been analyzing the causes and effects of the greenhouse effect and many other
issues that global warming has presented. As John Houghton...show more content...
Aerosols have two major effects on the climate. They include direct and indirect radiation. " The
cooling or warming of the atmosphere due to the reflective or absorbent properties of the
particles are considered direct effects. Reflective particles cool the atmosphere by scattering
energy from the sun back into space. Absorbent particles have the opposite effect. They add to
atmospheric heating by absorbing the sun's energy." (Calipso Outreach) An indirect effect of
aerosols is their roles on cloud condensation nuclei, CCN. The use of aerosols has a huge
relationship with the amount of CCN present in a cloud. Clouds with more CCN, from the higher
use of aerosols, are larger and more reflective than those with fewer CCN (Calipso Outreach). Since
the clouds are more reflective, light is being trapped in the earth's atmosphere. Ultimately creating
the earths temperature to rise. In Calipso Outreach they explain, " The particles pushed into the
atmosphere from a dust storm are made of minerals with both reflective and absorbent properties.
The ability of the particles to absorb sunlight is thought to have a net warming effect on area of the
atmosphere they occupy." The particles from the dust storm get trapped up in the earth's atmosphere,
creating almost a mirror for sunlight to be reflected by. With the more sunlight being reflected, the
hotter the temperature will be on Earth. Aerosols are a huge cause of global

The Causes Of Global Warming
Global warming, the theory of why the world is increasing in heat. The theory that is always being
dismissed by our politicians and the people who support them. The theory that even some scientists
cannot grasp. There is so much evidence to prove this theory. In some places during the winter, the
weather is mild. During the summer, the temperature is at a record high. 2016 was the hottest year
on record. Sea levels have been increasing rapidly due to the melting of the ice caps in the Arctic.
There are severe storms and droughts hitting different parts of the world. "What is global warming?",
the nonbelievers ask. Global warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's
atmosphere because of the greenhouse effect, which is caused by the increased levels of CO2 and
other pollutants.
Global warming is caused by CO2, air pollutants, and greenhouse gases, such as CH4 and N2O.
These gases have the ability to last in the atmosphere for years and trap heat. Over time, these
gases start to build up in the atmosphere and absorb the sunlight that has bounced off of Earth's
surface. There are many sources as to where these gases come from. The most popular are from
humans. Humans produce about two billion tons of CO2 every year from burning fossil fuels. We
use fossil fuels for transportation, power plants, etc. People use gasoline to power their cars.
Gasoline contains S. S+O2=SO2+Heat. SO2 has a pungent, toxic odor and it is very harmful to

The Causes Of Global Warming
Global warming refers to the high rate of increase in the global average surface temperature in
recent years (National Aeronautics and Space Administration [NASA], 2017). Since the late 19th
century, the global average surface temperature has increased by about 2.0 degrees Fahrenheit, and
most of the warming occurred within the last 35 years (NASA, 2017). These rising temperatures are
a result of the "greenhouse effect," which is described as follows:
When energy from the sun reaches the surface of the earth, some of it is re–radiated back into space
as infrared radiation, while some of it is absorbed by the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere
(Columbia University, n.d.). When there are more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (as there
have been over the last century), more of the radiation is trapped by the greenhouse gas molecules in
the form of heat, leading to higher temperatures at the Earth's surface (University Corporation for
Atmospheric Research [UCAR], 2011). The greenhouse gases such as Carbon dioxide (CO2),
Methane (CH4), Nitrous oxide (N2O), and Fluorinated gases are among those greenhouse gases,
which have a high Global warming potential (Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], 2017).
Human activities responsible for Global warming are:
Dr. James Hansen (in his book "Storms of my grandchildren) has described it as "human induced
climatic forcing". These human induced climatic forces have increased the magnitude of greenhouse
gases producing an energy imbalance

Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit around the world since 1880, due to
global warming. Global warming is caused by various factors that include greenhouse gases getting
trapped in the atmosphere, pollution of land and ocean, and large amounts of deforestation.
Scientists have proven that the causes of extreme weather, glaciers melting, and the extinction of
many species, including keystone species, directly correlates from global warming. Humans can
prevent the further progression of global warming by utilizing the already available tools, such as
things like solar panels and electric cars, or they can figure out ways to reduce wastes more
efficiently. If the global warming epidemic is not taken seriously, then the fate of theEarth and all
who inhabit it will be in danger.
Humans contribute to the many causes of global warming. The greenhouse effect increases the
temperature of the Earth by trapping heat in our atmosphere and is a main cause of global warming.
Humans create this effect by burning fossil fuels, which creates carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is
one of the main gases that contributes to the increase in temperature over time. Humans also release
methane and nitrous oxide from agricultural wastes. Some examples of agricultural wastes are
unwanted crops or raising an animal for the sole purpose of livelihood. Another human contributing
factor of global warming is ocean and land pollution. Humans have the power to control the ways

Causes of Global Warming
Have you ever thought of what is the cause to global warming? Some people still happen to
believe that global warming is a made up story, which is preventing humans from advancing. While
others might believe that global warming is realistic and is a man made problem. Global warming
is sooner or later going to impact you in a major way that can even change your life style. We the
people need to understand that global warming can result in harmful consequences to the earth that
one cannot even imagine. There are many ways to help stop the spread of global warming.
Global warming is hurting the world, which we live in, and it can result in decrease amount of
population after a long period of time.Global warming happens to be really harmful and will
affect the people if no effort is placed to prevent it. Global warming is the rise of the surface
temperature due to the different types of gases given out due to human activity. There are many
different ways global warming occurs. The major way global warming occurs is due to the gases
that hurt the ozone layer such as carbon dioxide and air pollution. These gases are narrowing the
ozone layer, which is allowing more heat than needed to enter the earth's atmosphere. But there are
also other reasons that cause global warming such as the cars, cows and even the factories. All these
living or non–living creatures stated let out certain gases that are extremely hazardous to the

Causes Of Global Warming
Global warming is the rise of the Earth's temperature. With references from many articles on what
global warming is, how it is caused, and what it is doing to the environment, this paper goes in depth
on the facts of climate change, why some doubt it, and how to prevent the Earth from warming so
quickly.
What is global warming?
Global warming is the increase of the Earth's core temperature. The atmosphere naturally warms up.
However, with the unwanted help of humans, the Earth is forming more heat leading to a large
amount of heat trapped in its atmosphere. The rise in temperature creates problems for human life,
nature, and of course the planet itself. Global warming is a global crisis that needs attention.
How is it caused?
The greenhouse effect is the earth's natural way of keeping itself warm. Without it, the earth would
be very cold and nothing would be able to survive on it. Although the greenhouse effect is
important for heating the earth, too much heat causes a high increase of climate change. More heat
gets trapped which leads to an escalation to the greenhouse effect. Human activities such as
burning fossil fuels and deforestation, create large amounts of greenhouse gases. The article
"Fossil fuels used in our daily life," by S.F. Heron; Updated April 24, 2017 gives information on
fossil fuels that are being burned every day, which include gasoline, natural gas, solar energy, coal,
and even water. All of these fuels cause large amounts ofcarbon dioxide to pollute the air.
What is the effect on the environment? Global Warming has severe effects on the community. It
causes a big increase in the amount of natural disasters. The icebergs are melting, California and
other places have had a lot more wildfires recently, there have been major floods and droughts, and
tropical storms are getting stronger. The warmer the degrees are, the stronger the category of a
hurricane will be. Also, oceans are becoming warmer which means ocean life are in danger. Climate
change causes problems for our health as well because of the amount of pollution in the air.
Doubts about global warming.
Despite the facts on global warming, not to mention that 2016 was the hottest year on record, there

Causes Of Global Warming : Cause And Mitigation
Global Warming: Cause and Mitigation
Natural versus anthropogenic climate changes: Climate and atmospheric changes on earth occur
because of natural resources or human activities. Both effects are closely linked because what
humans do on earth effects the environment and surrounding return in back to glacial potions, seas,
mountain sides and deserts which might turn back to our climate in form of volcanic changes,
temperature of our surroundings, snowfalls and heavy or less rainfalls [USGS (2014)]. Natural
resources to changing climate include volcanic eruption, rainfalls, snowfalls which would result in
the form of changing heat balance of earth termed as global warming. Another reason of change in
temperature and heat balance on earth is human activities in industrial areas erupting chemical
gasses and waste materials. These human activities affect percentages of carbon dioxide, Nitrogen
gasses and Oxygen which is prime portion in formation of first layer circling earth called
atmosphere. Human and climatic activities directly affect atmospheric temperatures and global
warming [USGS (2014)].
Global Warming:
Global Warming is overall increase in temperature of planet earth due to emissions of green house
gasses like carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. Human activities like fuel burning in industries and
automobiles, burning down the forests and human waste release sufficient amount of greenhouse
gasses in atmospheric layer of earth. Atmosphere consists of carbon

Climate Change and Global Warming What are climate change and global warming? Does it affect
today's earth? To know what is climate change and global warming we must know what does
weather and climate mean. Weather is what circumstances of the atmosphere are over a short period
of time. Climate is how the atmosphere acts over fairly long periods of time. Since 1977 earth has
been extraordinary warmer than its average. But what causes the earth to get warmer? The main
cause of climate change and global warming is made by human activities putting too much carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is good it holds in heat and keeps humans warm.
However, it is the haste that we're changing that causing climate change. Even though climate
change and global warming are almost the same thing scientist has preferred the word climate
change. Climate change is the fact that carbon pollution (which we create) does more than just
warm earth. Carbon pollution is changing the temperature and the change of how much rain and
snow occurs in a place. Climate change takes hundreds or more years to change. Global Warming
is applied to the rising average of global temperatures. When people drive cars, use energy to
cook, cool and heat their houses, power plants, etc. all those things put gasses in the air. Gasses
that trap heat in the atmosphere are called greenhouse gases. Each of the gases is carbon dioxide,
methane, fluorinated gases, and nitrous oxide. Carbon dioxide is a chemical that is transparent to
solar radiation and yet it absorbs infrared radiation. Carbon dioxide enters the air through burning
fossil fuels, trees, solid waste and wood products. Carbon dioxide remains in the atmosphere longer
than other gasses as the result of human activities. The US produces the most carbon with 5,800
million every year, next is China over 3,000, Russia over 2,000, Japan, 1,200 and India, 1,000
million. Methane enters through the transportation of coal, oil and natural gas. It takes a decade for
methane to leave the atmosphere which converts into carbon dioxide. Fluorinated gases are used as
substitutes for stratospheric substances. Lastly, Nitrous oxide is released during industrial

Global Warming
What is it?
Global warming is when the average global temperature increases. The global temperature has
increased to the fastest ever recorded rate in history in the past half century. Climate changes like
global warming is the result of human practices like the emission of Greenhouse gases. Global
warming leads to rising temperatures of the ground and oceans causing melting of polar ice caps, a
rise in sea levels as well as unnatural patterns of precipitation such as flash floods, excessive snow or
desertification.
Why does it occur?
The main cause of global warming is due to greenhouse gases as well as other air pollutants that
collect in the atmosphere. Sunlight and solar radiation that should have bounced off the earth's
surface is absorbed by these pollutants. If the pollutants weren't in the atmosphere, radiation would
escape into space. Pollutants are known to last as long as centuries within the atmosphere, they trap
heat and in turn cause the planet to overheat. This is the greenhouse effect; the greenhouse effect is
the cause of global warming.
How do you know Global warming occurs?
There are 10 main indicators of Global Warming, these indicators are; land surface temperature, sea
surface temperature, air temperature over the oceans, lower troposphere temperature, ocean heat
content, sea level, humidity, glaciers, the Northern Hemisphere snow cover and sea ice.
Temperatures (Land, sea, air, lower troposphere) have all rose to the highest recorded in history in
the last decade. This has caused the humidity to increase as well as the ocean heat content, because
of the increase in humidity, glaciers and snow covers have been melting and due to ocean heat
content sea ice levels have decreased.
Who it affects and negative effects.
Global warming affects everyone. It affects our environment, the place we call home, and in turn it
affects us. Humans can't function without the environment, we rely on the environment for food, for
water, and as our home.
An increase in temperature can cause serious issues in agriculture, there has been a struggle to
maintain the specific conditions crops need in order to survive. A study that was published by
Stanford University showed that global wheat

Global Warming and Climate Change Essay
Global warming and the greenhouse effect are issues discussed by scientists all the time. A natural
process that keeps earths temperature at a livable rate is called the greenhouse effect. The energy
from the sun warms up the earth when the rays from the sun are absorbed by greenhouse gasses. The
gasses then become trapped in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and nitrous
oxide are the most common greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gases cause the radiant heat of the sun to
be trapped in the Earths lower atmosphere which causes global warming. If there weren't any
greenhouse gasses, the earth would be really cold due to very little sun rays being absorbed on the
earth. Global warming can and...show more content...
Every time the temperature keeps rising, the more carbon dioxide will be released. When this
process gets going, it is very hard to keep in control. Methane is another greenhouse gas. Methane is
a greenhouse gas whose molecules absorb heat trying to escape to space. Natural sources include
wetlands, swamps and marshes, termites, and oceans. (Methane) Methane gases are released into the
atmosphere. Atmospheric methane has doubled since the Industrial Revolution and has "contributed
20 percent to the enhancement of the greenhouse effect, second only to carbon dioxide". (Methane)
A major effect of global warming is there will be higher temperatures and it will affect how the
water cycle works. Places on the earth will receive more rain than others. There will be a great
amount of evaporation going on from the rivers, lakes and oceans due to a increase in the
temperature. This could be a good thing for some people needing rain and a bad thing for other
people who get to much rain. While the temperature is on the rise there will be greater amount of
rains all over. In return with all of the rains this could help farmers. It would extend the growing
season for crops. This would greatly help out the farmers because they would be making more
money. While this is the positive side of the rain, this could also hurt the farmers. There are some
crops that out there that will die with to much rain. There

Causes Of Global Warming Essay
The issue of global warming has become a hot topic issue in many different countries. Global
warming is defined as the average increase of the earth's surface temperature. This exceptional rise
in temperature is has caused numerous tragic events. Global warming is mainly caused by
greenhouse effect, which is natural and human outcome. In the recent years, global warming has
become a grave concern in the international level because of its increasing detrimental effect on our
planet. Many scientists are researching to find solutions to curb the harmful effects of global
warming. It is imperative for us to know about the causes, effects and solutions of global warming to
help fight against it individually. In this essay, we are going to examine the causes, effects and then
solutions of global warming.
Scientific researches from across the world have concluded that there are two main causes for
greenhouse effect which results in global warming. Firstly, global warming is caused by natural
causes, which can be categorized into external and internal causes. The factors that innately alters
atmospheric compositions are called external causes. It consists of the luminosity of the sun,
volcanic eruptions, and the changeability of the earth's orbit round the sun. For example, the supply
of sunlight reaching the Earth increases by 20 per cent and increase the temperature of the Earth as
an aftermath of the change in Earth's orbit. Another important natural cause to global warming is

Global Warming
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go a whole winter without even seeing snow?
Well the way the atmosphere is heating up today you just might experience this kind of event in
the future I chose to do my cause and effect paper on global warming because I believe it has a
major impact on humans, not only today, but especially in the future. In this paper I am going to
explain the causes and the effects of global warming and how it will impact our lives in the long run.
Greenhouse gases are gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone, and play an
important roll in the earth's atmosphere. Without them it would really be cold, but that does not

The plants not only absorb gases ones throughout the atmosphere, but the ones created by humans
too, such as fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are the gases released when making plastics and when
producing other types of fuels such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel. When these gases are
released they clog up the atmosphere, which means other types of gases can not escape. This is
also another leading factor of the world heating up and also leads to be a cause of the major
flooding, all of which is an effect of global warming. The second most leading cause of global
warming is aerosols. "Aerosols are air born solid particles or liquid droplets" usually found in hair
spray cans or other types of continuous spray cans (Wikipedia). In these types of hair sprays there
are fossil fuels combusted to help release the sprays needed. These aerosols are not only in spray
cans but also volcanoes. In lava, that explodes out of volcanoes, sulfur is released. The sulfur
then rises to the atmosphere, which destroys it (Volcano Hazard Program). Not only does sulfur
rise, but also is absorbed by the ground which causes a natural. This is another leading cause of
the temperature rise going on now, and is a cause of global warming (warming of the atmosphere).
It has many effects such as air pollution that can cause many problems for people. These gases can
be poisonous, and deadly if often breathed in. I have a perfect example of global warming and how

Global Warming: A Human Cause? Essay
Global warming, just the thought of the words bring to mind scenes of melting ice, stranded polar
bears and dying plants. In today's society it seems humanity is always being blamed for the
tragedies that seem to go along with this catastrophe. However, research has proven that humans are
not the sole cause of global warming. In fact, some scientists say that the natural causes of global
warming far outweigh the human causes.
What exactly does global warming effect? The effects of global warming are spread across the
entire world and can be broken down into three main areas, the first of which is heat waves. Heat
waves are defined as periods of time lasting more than three days at which the average temperature
exceeds 90 degrees...show more content...
(47–48) This warming of the arctic also affects humans around the world not just the indigenous
people and animals. David Rind says "these increases in temperature around the arctic will most
certainly impact our weather here in the United States if we do not have those seemingly unneeded
outbreaks of arctic cold then we will not receive as much winter precipitation which will make it
hard for states like Kansas to produce their winter goods". (qtd in Johansen 286)
The final area that scientists break down the effects of global warming is wild storms. Global
warming is said to increase the amount of rain produced during thunderstorms which may in turn
cause floods. According to Robert Britt "as the climate warms up more water will fall in the form
of rain rather than snow which will cause the reservoirs to fill faster, this in turn will result in the
water runoff all into spring rather than being able to bring it out throughout the summer". In
addition to heavier rainfall, hurricanes and tropical storms are greatly affected by small increases
in the global temperature of the oceans. For example according to Dr. Kerry Emanuel "a 0.5 degree
Celsius increase in the oceans temperature can cause the power of hurricanes in that year to at least
double". With such extreme effects of global warming why is the human

The Natural And Natural Causes Of Global Warming
Introduction
What is global warming? Global warming is the average temperature of Earth has increases since
1950 until now the temperature continuing increasing. Global warming can also refers to climate
change that causes an increase in the average of temperature. However global warming are causes by
natural events and human that are believed to be contribute to increase in average temperatures.
Causes of Global Warming
Global warming is a serious issue and is not a single issue but a number of environmental issues.
Global warming is a rise in the surface temperature of the earth that has changed various life forms
on the earth. The issues that cause global warming are divided into two categories include "natural"
and "human influences" of global warming.
Natural Causes of Global Warming
The climate has continuously changing for centuries. The global warming happens because the
natural rotation of the sun that changes the intensity of sunlight and moving closer to the earth.
Another cause of global warming is greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are carbon monoxide and
sulphur dioxide it trap the solar heats rays and prevent it from escaping from the surface of the earth.
This has cause the temperature of the earth increase.
Volcanic eruptions are another issue that causes global warming. For instance, a single volcanic
eruption will release amount of carbon dioxide and ash to the atmosphere. Once carbon dioxide
increase, the temperature of earth increase and greenhouse trap the solar radiations in the earth.
Finally, methane is another issue that causes global warming. Methane is also a greenhouse gas.
Methane is more effective in trapping heat in the atmosphere that carbon dioxide by 20 times.
Usually methane gas can release from many areas. For instance, it can be from cattle, landfill,
natural gas, petroleum systems, coal mining, mobile explosion, or industrial waste process.
Human Influences on Global Warming
Human influence has been a very serious issue now because human do not take care the earth.
Human that cause global warming are more than natural causes global warming. The earth has been
changing for many years until now it is still changing because of modern lifestyle of human. Human
activities

The Causes of Global Warming Essay
Global warming is an issue that threatens the world, but is often overlooked. This problem is an
increase in the earth's temperature due to fossil fuels, industries, agricultural, and man–made causes.
This results in the release of greenhouse gases. As climate changes occur in our earth's atmosphere
buildup of greenhouse gases. There are many problems that are causing global warming, and if they
are not taken serious or at least prevented there are going to be some severe issues in the near
future. Global warming has been caused by the people of the world. Pollution is one of the biggest
problems caused by people. No one seems to realize is that by burning fossil fuels is one thing that
causes pollution. Fossil fuels are fuels...show more content...
Our modern car burning gasoline is responsible for about 33% of the emission in the U.S. With
our population growing at a rapid rate, the demand for more cars and consumer goods means that
we are increasing the use of fossil fuels for transportation and manufacturing. A recent poll of
twenty people, shows that 86% of the people think that it is a serious problem, 4% think it is not
an issue, but could not give a valid answer, 10% are undecided. Some people that don't believe in
global warming say that there's no scientific proof that the earth's temperature is rising. Those who
thought it is a major issue all had ideas on to if not stop global warming at least slow down the
process. Natural gas is an extremely important source of energy for reducing pollution and
maintaining a clean and healthy environment. As the cleanest of the fossil fuels, natural gas can be
used in many ways to help reduce the emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere. Burning natural
gas in the place of other fossil fuels emits fewer harmful pollutants into the atmosphere, and an
increased reliance on natural gas can potentially reduce the emission of many of these most harmful
pollutants. The use of natural gas to power both industrial boilers and processes and the generation
of electricity can significantly improve the emissions.
Hybrid cars have been out on the market for a couple of years now. They use a small gasoline
engine and high powered electric motor to drive the car.

Causes Of Global Warming
Global warming
Global warming is a gradual process of heating of earth's surface and whole environment including
oceans, ice caps, etc. The global rise in atmospheric temperature has been clearly noticed in the
recent years. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, in the past century there is increase
in the earth's surface average temperature by around 1.4–degree Fahrenheit. It has also been
estimated that global temperature may increase by another 2 to 11.5 degrees F in the next century.
There are many causes of the global warming, some are natural causes and some are human made
causes. The most important cause of global warming is greenhouse gases which are generated by
some natural processes as well as human activities. The increase in the level of greenhouse gases has
been seen in the 20th century because of the increasing population, economy and use of energy.
Increasing demand of industrialization in the modern world to fulfill almost each need is causing
the release of variety of greenhouse gases through many industrial processes in the atmosphere.
The release of carbon dioxide (CO2) and Sulphur dioxide (SO2) gas has been increased in the recent
years by 10–fold. The release of carbon dioxide gas varies according to the natural and industrial
processes including photosynthesis and oxidation cycles. Methane is another greenhouse gas release
in the atmosphere by the anaerobic decomposition of organic materials. Other greenhouse gases are
like oxides of

Global warming, by definition, is the increasing average temperature on a global scale. Many
scientists agree that the primary cause of this phenomenon is the collection of various "greenhouse
gases" and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These gases are said to come from the burning of
fossil fuels in order to produce electricity, which has been gradually but greatly increasing since
approximately 1750. For the most part, global warming, or climate change, is a universally accepted
truth – but for some reason, there is a large resistance to the legitimacy of it. As of the year 2016,
carbon dioxide in the atmosphere's concentration had reached a record high of 400 parts per
million. This is the highest it's been in the last three million years. Possibly coincidentally, that
same year had the hottest recorded temperatures of all time, with temperatures at an average of
1.78 Fahrenheit warmer than the average of the twentieth century's. 2016 was, again, record setting
for the third year in a row. Now, the planet's glaciers and polar ice sheets are melting due to this
warmer atmosphere. As a result, sea levels are rising notably. With this melting ice, dark water is
exposed, which absorbs more sunlight than it did previously as ice, which subsequently triggers a
cycle of heating and melting. Alongside the raising temperatures and sea level, comes more extreme
weather. Heat waves have become even more frequent worldwide than they ever have been, resulting
in an exponential

The Causes Of Global Warming
One of the biggest problems we face in the world today, is global warming. Many climate scientists
believe that the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and deforestation is causing our
earth's climate to heat. Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide are trapping heat from the sun in our
atmosphere, which causes ice to melt, sea levels to rise, temperatures to rise and some animal
species population to decline.
Many climate scientists agree that the main cause of global warming today is too much carbon
dioxide in our atmosphere, acting as a blanket and trapping heat in, warming the planet. We create
global warming by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas etc) and burning down our forests to make
plantations. When carbon dioxide is released into our atmosphere, it hangs around for many
centuries. The more carbon dioxide released into the air, the more the suns energy gets trapped in
our atmosphere as heat and at this rate, by the end of the century, will have risen by six degrees.
Due to global warming, ice is melting all over the world including, mountain glaciers, ice sheets
that cover west Antarctica and Greenland and Arctic sea ice, causing sea levels to rise, more
quickly. They are expected to rise between 18 and 59 centimetres by the end of the century and
water temperatures will increase. Global warming also affects many species living at the earths
poles. For instance, the number of breeding pairs of Adelie penguins on Antarctica have dropped
from 32,000 to 11,000 in 30 years. Another animal being affected by global warming is polar
bears. As sea ice melts, two thirds of polar bears will disappear by 2050. It is also expected that
global warming will also cause the population of seals, polar bears prey, to decline. This polar bears
will go hungry for longer periods of time, resulting in cannibalism. Additionally, as temperatures
increase around the world, there is an increase in extreme weather events. Storms are able to absorb
energy from the water temperature causing hurricanes and typhoons.
We can help stop global warming by reducingfossil fuel use, planting waste, reducing waste and
conserving water. Burning fossil fuels increases the levels of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere.
We can

rate. There are many other problems as well, but these are some problems that are already
occurring. There always has been and always will be disasters. Depending on a person's location,
they will experience different disasters. Some examples include, wildfires, hurricanes, flooding,
drought and precipitation. But these disasters have become more extreme and problematic. They
are happening more frequently and are causing more damage. Ice melting is another big issue.
With temperatures rising globally, it is creating a big impact on the polar regions. Glaciers are
melting fast, and the new snow and ice is unable to keep up. The ice from the glaciers melt into
rivers, streams and oceans. This is causing sea levels to rise. With sea levels rising, the water is
becoming higher in comparison to our land. We could potentially lose some of our land due to
expansion of the ocean. Ocean acidity is the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, which
dissolves in the water. The increase

Causes Of Global Warming Explained

  • 1. Causes Of Global Warming Discovering the Main Cause of Global Warming Upon researching the causes of Global warming, it was discovered that humans are the main cause of global warming which contributes to the rising average global temperatures. The theory of global warming was originated in the late 1850's by a scientist named John Tyndall. Tyndall discovered that some gases block radiation, and trap heat on the earth's surface. He then suggested that the accumulation of these gases to a high level, causes climate change. Current research shows that global warming is caused by carbon dioxide which is released into the atmosphere by humans. Smoke produced by factories, vehicular exhaust, and the burning of fossil fuels such as coal in power plants are the primary sources of carbon dioxide. When carbon dioxide is released into the Earth's atmosphere, it steadily accumulates because it cannot escape into space. Humans are responsible for the causes of Global Warming. Global warming can also be referred to as the greenhouse effect, which can be defined as the rising temperature of the earth's atmosphere. "Since about the mid 1800s, the worldwide average temperature has been going up about 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (1.4В°F), or 0.8 degrees Celsius (0.8В°C), much of it after 1970 During that upward trend , many cold and warm periods have come and gone" (Colligan 12). Warming of the earth has been increasingly changing over the past years but was this was not viewed as a great problem. When a molecule of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Causes and Effects of Global Warming Essay As Robert Frost once said, " Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire." This excerpt can relate to the idea of global warming. Global warming can be defined as an increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect. During the past 10,000 years the earth has been in an ever–growing cycle that has significantly changed the climate. These changes are becoming more prevalent in our world today in the past 150 years. Scientists have been analyzing the causes and effects of the greenhouse effect and many other issues that global warming has presented. As John Houghton...show more content... Aerosols have two major effects on the climate. They include direct and indirect radiation. " The cooling or warming of the atmosphere due to the reflective or absorbent properties of the particles are considered direct effects. Reflective particles cool the atmosphere by scattering energy from the sun back into space. Absorbent particles have the opposite effect. They add to atmospheric heating by absorbing the sun's energy." (Calipso Outreach) An indirect effect of aerosols is their roles on cloud condensation nuclei, CCN. The use of aerosols has a huge relationship with the amount of CCN present in a cloud. Clouds with more CCN, from the higher use of aerosols, are larger and more reflective than those with fewer CCN (Calipso Outreach). Since the clouds are more reflective, light is being trapped in the earth's atmosphere. Ultimately creating the earths temperature to rise. In Calipso Outreach they explain, " The particles pushed into the atmosphere from a dust storm are made of minerals with both reflective and absorbent properties. The ability of the particles to absorb sunlight is thought to have a net warming effect on area of the atmosphere they occupy." The particles from the dust storm get trapped up in the earth's atmosphere, creating almost a mirror for sunlight to be reflected by. With the more sunlight being reflected, the hotter the temperature will be on Earth. Aerosols are a huge cause of global Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Causes Of Global Warming Global warming, the theory of why the world is increasing in heat. The theory that is always being dismissed by our politicians and the people who support them. The theory that even some scientists cannot grasp. There is so much evidence to prove this theory. In some places during the winter, the weather is mild. During the summer, the temperature is at a record high. 2016 was the hottest year on record. Sea levels have been increasing rapidly due to the melting of the ice caps in the Arctic. There are severe storms and droughts hitting different parts of the world. "What is global warming?", the nonbelievers ask. Global warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere because of the greenhouse effect, which is caused by the increased levels of CO2 and other pollutants. Global warming is caused by CO2, air pollutants, and greenhouse gases, such as CH4 and N2O. These gases have the ability to last in the atmosphere for years and trap heat. Over time, these gases start to build up in the atmosphere and absorb the sunlight that has bounced off of Earth's surface. There are many sources as to where these gases come from. The most popular are from humans. Humans produce about two billion tons of CO2 every year from burning fossil fuels. We use fossil fuels for transportation, power plants, etc. People use gasoline to power their cars. Gasoline contains S. S+O2=SO2+Heat. SO2 has a pungent, toxic odor and it is very harmful to human health Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Causes Of Global Warming Global warming refers to the high rate of increase in the global average surface temperature in recent years (National Aeronautics and Space Administration [NASA], 2017). Since the late 19th century, the global average surface temperature has increased by about 2.0 degrees Fahrenheit, and most of the warming occurred within the last 35 years (NASA, 2017). These rising temperatures are a result of the "greenhouse effect," which is described as follows: When energy from the sun reaches the surface of the earth, some of it is re–radiated back into space as infrared radiation, while some of it is absorbed by the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (Columbia University, n.d.). When there are more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (as there have been over the last century), more of the radiation is trapped by the greenhouse gas molecules in the form of heat, leading to higher temperatures at the Earth's surface (University Corporation for Atmospheric Research [UCAR], 2011). The greenhouse gases such as Carbon dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous oxide (N2O), and Fluorinated gases are among those greenhouse gases, which have a high Global warming potential (Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], 2017). Human activities responsible for Global warming are: Dr. James Hansen (in his book "Storms of my grandchildren) has described it as "human induced climatic forcing". These human induced climatic forces have increased the magnitude of greenhouse gases producing an energy imbalance Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Causes Of Global Warming Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit around the world since 1880, due to global warming. Global warming is caused by various factors that include greenhouse gases getting trapped in the atmosphere, pollution of land and ocean, and large amounts of deforestation. Scientists have proven that the causes of extreme weather, glaciers melting, and the extinction of many species, including keystone species, directly correlates from global warming. Humans can prevent the further progression of global warming by utilizing the already available tools, such as things like solar panels and electric cars, or they can figure out ways to reduce wastes more efficiently. If the global warming epidemic is not taken seriously, then the fate of theEarth and all who inhabit it will be in danger. Humans contribute to the many causes of global warming. The greenhouse effect increases the temperature of the Earth by trapping heat in our atmosphere and is a main cause of global warming. Humans create this effect by burning fossil fuels, which creates carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is one of the main gases that contributes to the increase in temperature over time. Humans also release methane and nitrous oxide from agricultural wastes. Some examples of agricultural wastes are unwanted crops or raising an animal for the sole purpose of livelihood. Another human contributing factor of global warming is ocean and land pollution. Humans have the power to control the ways they treat Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Causes of Global Warming Have you ever thought of what is the cause to global warming? Some people still happen to believe that global warming is a made up story, which is preventing humans from advancing. While others might believe that global warming is realistic and is a man made problem. Global warming is sooner or later going to impact you in a major way that can even change your life style. We the people need to understand that global warming can result in harmful consequences to the earth that one cannot even imagine. There are many ways to help stop the spread of global warming. Global warming is hurting the world, which we live in, and it can result in decrease amount of population after a long period of time.Global warming happens to be really harmful and will affect the people if no effort is placed to prevent it. Global warming is the rise of the surface temperature due to the different types of gases given out due to human activity. There are many different ways global warming occurs. The major way global warming occurs is due to the gases that hurt the ozone layer such as carbon dioxide and air pollution. These gases are narrowing the ozone layer, which is allowing more heat than needed to enter the earth's atmosphere. But there are also other reasons that cause global warming such as the cars, cows and even the factories. All these living or non–living creatures stated let out certain gases that are extremely hazardous to the environment The effects of the global warming can harm Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Causes Of Global Warming Global warming is the rise of the Earth's temperature. With references from many articles on what global warming is, how it is caused, and what it is doing to the environment, this paper goes in depth on the facts of climate change, why some doubt it, and how to prevent the Earth from warming so quickly. What is global warming? Global warming is the increase of the Earth's core temperature. The atmosphere naturally warms up. However, with the unwanted help of humans, the Earth is forming more heat leading to a large amount of heat trapped in its atmosphere. The rise in temperature creates problems for human life, nature, and of course the planet itself. Global warming is a global crisis that needs attention. How is it caused? The greenhouse effect is the earth's natural way of keeping itself warm. Without it, the earth would be very cold and nothing would be able to survive on it. Although the greenhouse effect is important for heating the earth, too much heat causes a high increase of climate change. More heat gets trapped which leads to an escalation to the greenhouse effect. Human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation, create large amounts of greenhouse gases. The article "Fossil fuels used in our daily life," by S.F. Heron; Updated April 24, 2017 gives information on fossil fuels that are being burned every day, which include gasoline, natural gas, solar energy, coal, and even water. All of these fuels cause large amounts ofcarbon dioxide to pollute the air. What is the effect on the environment? Global Warming has severe effects on the community. It causes a big increase in the amount of natural disasters. The icebergs are melting, California and other places have had a lot more wildfires recently, there have been major floods and droughts, and tropical storms are getting stronger. The warmer the degrees are, the stronger the category of a hurricane will be. Also, oceans are becoming warmer which means ocean life are in danger. Climate change causes problems for our health as well because of the amount of pollution in the air. Doubts about global warming. Despite the facts on global warming, not to mention that 2016 was the hottest year on record, there are people who Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Causes Of Global Warming : Cause And Mitigation Global Warming: Cause and Mitigation Natural versus anthropogenic climate changes: Climate and atmospheric changes on earth occur because of natural resources or human activities. Both effects are closely linked because what humans do on earth effects the environment and surrounding return in back to glacial potions, seas, mountain sides and deserts which might turn back to our climate in form of volcanic changes, temperature of our surroundings, snowfalls and heavy or less rainfalls [USGS (2014)]. Natural resources to changing climate include volcanic eruption, rainfalls, snowfalls which would result in the form of changing heat balance of earth termed as global warming. Another reason of change in temperature and heat balance on earth is human activities in industrial areas erupting chemical gasses and waste materials. These human activities affect percentages of carbon dioxide, Nitrogen gasses and Oxygen which is prime portion in formation of first layer circling earth called atmosphere. Human and climatic activities directly affect atmospheric temperatures and global warming [USGS (2014)]. Global Warming: Global Warming is overall increase in temperature of planet earth due to emissions of green house gasses like carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. Human activities like fuel burning in industries and automobiles, burning down the forests and human waste release sufficient amount of greenhouse gasses in atmospheric layer of earth. Atmosphere consists of carbon Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Climate Change and Global Warming What are climate change and global warming? Does it affect today's earth? To know what is climate change and global warming we must know what does weather and climate mean. Weather is what circumstances of the atmosphere are over a short period of time. Climate is how the atmosphere acts over fairly long periods of time. Since 1977 earth has been extraordinary warmer than its average. But what causes the earth to get warmer? The main cause of climate change and global warming is made by human activities putting too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is good it holds in heat and keeps humans warm. However, it is the haste that we're changing that causing climate change. Even though climate change and global warming are almost the same thing scientist has preferred the word climate change. Climate change is the fact that carbon pollution (which we create) does more than just warm earth. Carbon pollution is changing the temperature and the change of how much rain and snow occurs in a place. Climate change takes hundreds or more years to change. Global Warming is applied to the rising average of global temperatures. When people drive cars, use energy to cook, cool and heat their houses, power plants, etc. all those things put gasses in the air. Gasses that trap heat in the atmosphere are called greenhouse gases. Each of the gases is carbon dioxide, methane, fluorinated gases, and nitrous oxide. Carbon dioxide is a chemical that is transparent to solar radiation and yet it absorbs infrared radiation. Carbon dioxide enters the air through burning fossil fuels, trees, solid waste and wood products. Carbon dioxide remains in the atmosphere longer than other gasses as the result of human activities. The US produces the most carbon with 5,800 million every year, next is China over 3,000, Russia over 2,000, Japan, 1,200 and India, 1,000 million. Methane enters through the transportation of coal, oil and natural gas. It takes a decade for methane to leave the atmosphere which converts into carbon dioxide. Fluorinated gases are used as substitutes for stratospheric substances. Lastly, Nitrous oxide is released during industrial Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Causes Of Global Warming Global Warming What is it? Global warming is when the average global temperature increases. The global temperature has increased to the fastest ever recorded rate in history in the past half century. Climate changes like global warming is the result of human practices like the emission of Greenhouse gases. Global warming leads to rising temperatures of the ground and oceans causing melting of polar ice caps, a rise in sea levels as well as unnatural patterns of precipitation such as flash floods, excessive snow or desertification. Why does it occur? The main cause of global warming is due to greenhouse gases as well as other air pollutants that collect in the atmosphere. Sunlight and solar radiation that should have bounced off the earth's surface is absorbed by these pollutants. If the pollutants weren't in the atmosphere, radiation would escape into space. Pollutants are known to last as long as centuries within the atmosphere, they trap heat and in turn cause the planet to overheat. This is the greenhouse effect; the greenhouse effect is the cause of global warming. How do you know Global warming occurs? There are 10 main indicators of Global Warming, these indicators are; land surface temperature, sea surface temperature, air temperature over the oceans, lower troposphere temperature, ocean heat content, sea level, humidity, glaciers, the Northern Hemisphere snow cover and sea ice. Temperatures (Land, sea, air, lower troposphere) have all rose to the highest recorded in history in the last decade. This has caused the humidity to increase as well as the ocean heat content, because of the increase in humidity, glaciers and snow covers have been melting and due to ocean heat content sea ice levels have decreased. Who it affects and negative effects. Global warming affects everyone. It affects our environment, the place we call home, and in turn it affects us. Humans can't function without the environment, we rely on the environment for food, for water, and as our home. An increase in temperature can cause serious issues in agriculture, there has been a struggle to maintain the specific conditions crops need in order to survive. A study that was published by Stanford University showed that global wheat Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Global Warming and Climate Change Essay Global warming and the greenhouse effect are issues discussed by scientists all the time. A natural process that keeps earths temperature at a livable rate is called the greenhouse effect. The energy from the sun warms up the earth when the rays from the sun are absorbed by greenhouse gasses. The gasses then become trapped in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and nitrous oxide are the most common greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gases cause the radiant heat of the sun to be trapped in the Earths lower atmosphere which causes global warming. If there weren't any greenhouse gasses, the earth would be really cold due to very little sun rays being absorbed on the earth. Global warming can and...show more content... Every time the temperature keeps rising, the more carbon dioxide will be released. When this process gets going, it is very hard to keep in control. Methane is another greenhouse gas. Methane is a greenhouse gas whose molecules absorb heat trying to escape to space. Natural sources include wetlands, swamps and marshes, termites, and oceans. (Methane) Methane gases are released into the atmosphere. Atmospheric methane has doubled since the Industrial Revolution and has "contributed 20 percent to the enhancement of the greenhouse effect, second only to carbon dioxide". (Methane) A major effect of global warming is there will be higher temperatures and it will affect how the water cycle works. Places on the earth will receive more rain than others. There will be a great amount of evaporation going on from the rivers, lakes and oceans due to a increase in the temperature. This could be a good thing for some people needing rain and a bad thing for other people who get to much rain. While the temperature is on the rise there will be greater amount of rains all over. In return with all of the rains this could help farmers. It would extend the growing season for crops. This would greatly help out the farmers because they would be making more money. While this is the positive side of the rain, this could also hurt the farmers. There are some crops that out there that will die with to much rain. There Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Causes Of Global Warming Essay The issue of global warming has become a hot topic issue in many different countries. Global warming is defined as the average increase of the earth's surface temperature. This exceptional rise in temperature is has caused numerous tragic events. Global warming is mainly caused by greenhouse effect, which is natural and human outcome. In the recent years, global warming has become a grave concern in the international level because of its increasing detrimental effect on our planet. Many scientists are researching to find solutions to curb the harmful effects of global warming. It is imperative for us to know about the causes, effects and solutions of global warming to help fight against it individually. In this essay, we are going to examine the causes, effects and then solutions of global warming. Scientific researches from across the world have concluded that there are two main causes for greenhouse effect which results in global warming. Firstly, global warming is caused by natural causes, which can be categorized into external and internal causes. The factors that innately alters atmospheric compositions are called external causes. It consists of the luminosity of the sun, volcanic eruptions, and the changeability of the earth's orbit round the sun. For example, the supply of sunlight reaching the Earth increases by 20 per cent and increase the temperature of the Earth as an aftermath of the change in Earth's orbit. Another important natural cause to global warming is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Essay on Global Warming; Cause and Effect Global Warming Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go a whole winter without even seeing snow? Well the way the atmosphere is heating up today you just might experience this kind of event in the future I chose to do my cause and effect paper on global warming because I believe it has a major impact on humans, not only today, but especially in the future. In this paper I am going to explain the causes and the effects of global warming and how it will impact our lives in the long run. Greenhouse gases are gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone, and play an important roll in the earth's atmosphere. Without them it would really be cold, but that does not seem to be the problem in today's life....show more content... The plants not only absorb gases ones throughout the atmosphere, but the ones created by humans too, such as fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are the gases released when making plastics and when producing other types of fuels such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel. When these gases are released they clog up the atmosphere, which means other types of gases can not escape. This is also another leading factor of the world heating up and also leads to be a cause of the major flooding, all of which is an effect of global warming. The second most leading cause of global warming is aerosols. "Aerosols are air born solid particles or liquid droplets" usually found in hair spray cans or other types of continuous spray cans (Wikipedia). In these types of hair sprays there are fossil fuels combusted to help release the sprays needed. These aerosols are not only in spray cans but also volcanoes. In lava, that explodes out of volcanoes, sulfur is released. The sulfur then rises to the atmosphere, which destroys it (Volcano Hazard Program). Not only does sulfur rise, but also is absorbed by the ground which causes a natural. This is another leading cause of the temperature rise going on now, and is a cause of global warming (warming of the atmosphere). It has many effects such as air pollution that can cause many problems for people. These gases can be poisonous, and deadly if often breathed in. • 14. Global Warming: A Human Cause? Essay Global warming, just the thought of the words bring to mind scenes of melting ice, stranded polar bears and dying plants. In today's society it seems humanity is always being blamed for the tragedies that seem to go along with this catastrophe. However, research has proven that humans are not the sole cause of global warming. In fact, some scientists say that the natural causes of global warming far outweigh the human causes. What exactly does global warming effect? The effects of global warming are spread across the entire world and can be broken down into three main areas, the first of which is heat waves. Heat waves are defined as periods of time lasting more than three days at which the average temperature exceeds 90 degrees...show more content... (47–48) This warming of the arctic also affects humans around the world not just the indigenous people and animals. David Rind says "these increases in temperature around the arctic will most certainly impact our weather here in the United States if we do not have those seemingly unneeded outbreaks of arctic cold then we will not receive as much winter precipitation which will make it hard for states like Kansas to produce their winter goods". (qtd in Johansen 286) The final area that scientists break down the effects of global warming is wild storms. Global warming is said to increase the amount of rain produced during thunderstorms which may in turn cause floods. According to Robert Britt "as the climate warms up more water will fall in the form of rain rather than snow which will cause the reservoirs to fill faster, this in turn will result in the water runoff all into spring rather than being able to bring it out throughout the summer". In addition to heavier rainfall, hurricanes and tropical storms are greatly affected by small increases in the global temperature of the oceans. For example according to Dr. Kerry Emanuel "a 0.5 degree Celsius increase in the oceans temperature can cause the power of hurricanes in that year to at least double". With such extreme effects of global warming why is the human Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. The Natural And Natural Causes Of Global Warming Introduction What is global warming? Global warming is the average temperature of Earth has increases since 1950 until now the temperature continuing increasing. Global warming can also refers to climate change that causes an increase in the average of temperature. However global warming are causes by natural events and human that are believed to be contribute to increase in average temperatures. Causes of Global Warming Global warming is a serious issue and is not a single issue but a number of environmental issues. Global warming is a rise in the surface temperature of the earth that has changed various life forms on the earth. The issues that cause global warming are divided into two categories include "natural" and "human influences" of global warming. Natural Causes of Global Warming The climate has continuously changing for centuries. The global warming happens because the natural rotation of the sun that changes the intensity of sunlight and moving closer to the earth. Another cause of global warming is greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide it trap the solar heats rays and prevent it from escaping from the surface of the earth. This has cause the temperature of the earth increase. Volcanic eruptions are another issue that causes global warming. For instance, a single volcanic eruption will release amount of carbon dioxide and ash to the atmosphere. Once carbon dioxide increase, the temperature of earth increase and greenhouse trap the solar radiations in the earth. Finally, methane is another issue that causes global warming. Methane is also a greenhouse gas. Methane is more effective in trapping heat in the atmosphere that carbon dioxide by 20 times. Usually methane gas can release from many areas. For instance, it can be from cattle, landfill, natural gas, petroleum systems, coal mining, mobile explosion, or industrial waste process. Human Influences on Global Warming Human influence has been a very serious issue now because human do not take care the earth. Human that cause global warming are more than natural causes global warming. The earth has been changing for many years until now it is still changing because of modern lifestyle of human. • 16. The Causes of Global Warming Essay Global warming is an issue that threatens the world, but is often overlooked. This problem is an increase in the earth's temperature due to fossil fuels, industries, agricultural, and man–made causes. This results in the release of greenhouse gases. As climate changes occur in our earth's atmosphere buildup of greenhouse gases. There are many problems that are causing global warming, and if they are not taken serious or at least prevented there are going to be some severe issues in the near future. Global warming has been caused by the people of the world. Pollution is one of the biggest problems caused by people. No one seems to realize is that by burning fossil fuels is one thing that causes pollution. Fossil fuels are fuels...show more content... Our modern car burning gasoline is responsible for about 33% of the emission in the U.S. With our population growing at a rapid rate, the demand for more cars and consumer goods means that we are increasing the use of fossil fuels for transportation and manufacturing. A recent poll of twenty people, shows that 86% of the people think that it is a serious problem, 4% think it is not an issue, but could not give a valid answer, 10% are undecided. Some people that don't believe in global warming say that there's no scientific proof that the earth's temperature is rising. Those who thought it is a major issue all had ideas on to if not stop global warming at least slow down the process. Natural gas is an extremely important source of energy for reducing pollution and maintaining a clean and healthy environment. As the cleanest of the fossil fuels, natural gas can be used in many ways to help reduce the emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere. Burning natural gas in the place of other fossil fuels emits fewer harmful pollutants into the atmosphere, and an increased reliance on natural gas can potentially reduce the emission of many of these most harmful pollutants. The use of natural gas to power both industrial boilers and processes and the generation of electricity can significantly improve the emissions. Hybrid cars have been out on the market for a couple of years now. They use a small gasoline engine and high powered electric motor to drive the car. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Causes Of Global Warming Global warming Global warming is a gradual process of heating of earth's surface and whole environment including oceans, ice caps, etc. The global rise in atmospheric temperature has been clearly noticed in the recent years. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, in the past century there is increase in the earth's surface average temperature by around 1.4–degree Fahrenheit. It has also been estimated that global temperature may increase by another 2 to 11.5 degrees F in the next century. There are many causes of the global warming, some are natural causes and some are human made causes. The most important cause of global warming is greenhouse gases which are generated by some natural processes as well as human activities. The increase in the level of greenhouse gases has been seen in the 20th century because of the increasing population, economy and use of energy. Increasing demand of industrialization in the modern world to fulfill almost each need is causing the release of variety of greenhouse gases through many industrial processes in the atmosphere. The release of carbon dioxide (CO2) and Sulphur dioxide (SO2) gas has been increased in the recent years by 10–fold. The release of carbon dioxide gas varies according to the natural and industrial processes including photosynthesis and oxidation cycles. Methane is another greenhouse gas release in the atmosphere by the anaerobic decomposition of organic materials. Other greenhouse gases are like oxides of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Global warming, by definition, is the increasing average temperature on a global scale. Many scientists agree that the primary cause of this phenomenon is the collection of various "greenhouse gases" and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These gases are said to come from the burning of fossil fuels in order to produce electricity, which has been gradually but greatly increasing since approximately 1750. For the most part, global warming, or climate change, is a universally accepted truth – but for some reason, there is a large resistance to the legitimacy of it. As of the year 2016, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere's concentration had reached a record high of 400 parts per million. This is the highest it's been in the last three million years. Possibly coincidentally, that same year had the hottest recorded temperatures of all time, with temperatures at an average of 1.78 Fahrenheit warmer than the average of the twentieth century's. 2016 was, again, record setting for the third year in a row. Now, the planet's glaciers and polar ice sheets are melting due to this warmer atmosphere. As a result, sea levels are rising notably. With this melting ice, dark water is exposed, which absorbs more sunlight than it did previously as ice, which subsequently triggers a cycle of heating and melting. Alongside the raising temperatures and sea level, comes more extreme weather. Heat waves have become even more frequent worldwide than they ever have been, resulting in an exponential Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. The Causes Of Global Warming One of the biggest problems we face in the world today, is global warming. Many climate scientists believe that the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and deforestation is causing our earth's climate to heat. Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide are trapping heat from the sun in our atmosphere, which causes ice to melt, sea levels to rise, temperatures to rise and some animal species population to decline. Many climate scientists agree that the main cause of global warming today is too much carbon dioxide in our atmosphere, acting as a blanket and trapping heat in, warming the planet. We create global warming by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas etc) and burning down our forests to make plantations. When carbon dioxide is released into our atmosphere, it hangs around for many centuries. The more carbon dioxide released into the air, the more the suns energy gets trapped in our atmosphere as heat and at this rate, by the end of the century, will have risen by six degrees. Due to global warming, ice is melting all over the world including, mountain glaciers, ice sheets that cover west Antarctica and Greenland and Arctic sea ice, causing sea levels to rise, more quickly. They are expected to rise between 18 and 59 centimetres by the end of the century and water temperatures will increase. Global warming also affects many species living at the earths poles. For instance, the number of breeding pairs of Adelie penguins on Antarctica have dropped from 32,000 to 11,000 in 30 years. Another animal being affected by global warming is polar bears. As sea ice melts, two thirds of polar bears will disappear by 2050. It is also expected that global warming will also cause the population of seals, polar bears prey, to decline. This polar bears will go hungry for longer periods of time, resulting in cannibalism. Additionally, as temperatures increase around the world, there is an increase in extreme weather events. Storms are able to absorb energy from the water temperature causing hurricanes and typhoons. We can help stop global warming by reducingfossil fuel use, planting waste, reducing waste and conserving water. Burning fossil fuels increases the levels of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. • 20. Causes Of Global Warming Essay Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere that is caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. There are many explanations as to why this happened. Most reasons will relate back to human activities. There are many problems that have occurred because of global warming. Some of the bigger problems are: disasters, ice melting, it's effect on oceans, food supply shortage, potential health problems and earth's life expectancy rate. There are many other problems as well, but these are some problems that are already occurring. There always has been and always will be disasters. Depending on a person's location, they will experience different disasters. Some examples include, wildfires, hurricanes, flooding, drought and precipitation. But these disasters have become more extreme and problematic. They are happening more frequently and are causing more damage. Ice melting is another big issue. With temperatures rising globally, it is creating a big impact on the polar regions. Glaciers are melting fast, and the new snow and ice is unable to keep up. The ice from the glaciers melt into rivers, streams and oceans. This is causing sea levels to rise. With sea levels rising, the water is becoming higher in comparison to our land. We could potentially lose some of our land due to expansion of the ocean. Ocean acidity is the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, which dissolves in the water. The increase Get more content on HelpWriting.net
