2. ASIATIC THEORY
According to Dr. Leopoldo A. Faustino –
the origin of the Philippines was based on
the Asiatic Theory.
DIASTROPHISM- process resulting to
the stress and strain of the earth’s crust
and takes may forms like breaking,
upthrust, upfolding, meaning the close
bending of rock layers and the upthrust
faulting where rocks do not only break
but may move or slip along the plane of
breakage.
4. ASIATIC THEORY
PALEOZOIC ERA - was a time of dramatic
geological, climatic, and evolutionary change.
PERMIAN REVOLUTION - It is the last
period of the Paleozoic Era.
5. ASIATIC THEORY
Diorite -is a grey to dark grey intermediate
intrusive igneous rock composed principally of
plagioclase feldspar (typically andesine), biotite,
hornblende, and/or pyroxene. It may contain small
amounts of quartz, microcline and olivine. Zircon,
apatite, sphene, magnetite, ilmenite and sulfides occur
as accessory minerals.
6. Asiatic Theory or Land Bridges
Theory states that the Philippines
was once part of Continental Asia.
Sunda Shelf and Sahul Shelf are
extensions of continents otherwise
known as continental
shelves.
