The CEOs for Cities’ Annual Workshop is an event which brings multi-sector leaders together from across the country. With the overarching goal to promote a more collaborative civic culture, the workshops succeed through a series of panel discussions, break-out sessions, lectures and roundtables. Attendees are also invited to enjoy other events, meals and field trips conveniently scheduled in celebration of the host city. The 2015 workshop will be held June 10-12th in beautiful Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
2. “Working with Residents to
Plan for Green Infrastructure”
Project term – July 1, 2014 – December 31, 2015
Goal – Engage Community in Developing a community greening/green
infrastructure plan for the Junction Ave neighborhood, Toledo
Outcomes:
Update the community’s revitalization plan with goals for green infrastructure
Residents engaged in WQ issues and green infrastructure planning for their
neighborhood
Increased communication of resident needs to decision-makers
Deliverables:
Water quality education events, design charrettes, community greening plan
3. Environmental Justice (EJ)
EPA definition –
“fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless
of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the
development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental
laws, regulations, and policies.”
EJ will be achieved when everyone enjoys the same degree of
protection from environmental and health hazards and equal access
to the decision-making process to have a healthy environment in
which to live, learn, and work.
