3. Before we get started, let’s talk about some important
words…
Computer-a machine that
follows instructions.
Keyboard-a device used
to enter instructions into a
computer.
Mouse-a hand held device Table of

Surfing the Internet-to browse/search
for information on the Internet.

4. Now that you know some important words, you will be searching for a
website. Your computer is already on the YAHOO! page.
Follow the next steps…
Step 1
1. Type in Funbrain 2. Click on Web Search
Click to
start again.

5. Step 2 You have several choices.
3. Click on the second FunBrain option

6. Step 3
You are now at the Funbrain website! You did it!! AWESOME!!!
Now you will search a place on Funbrain called Math Arcade. Let’s
do this together.
Place the curser on Math Arcade and click.
Once you’re in, you will have to answer questions to enter
a game. We will not do that today since the purpose of
this lesson is just to perform a simple search.

7. Now lets take a look at another website called pbskids.
1. Type in pbskids 2. Click on Web Search

8. This is what you should see next. You will choose what you’d like to
do from here. Click on any picture and practice! Read the instructions
and raise your hand if there are questions.

9. Results
If you clicked on Elmo’s face, this is what you see. From
here, you’ll choose what you want to do by clicking on a
picture, games, videos, printables, or e-cards. Share your
thoughts on this freely.
