Group Activity
The students will be given a metacard. On their metacard, they will
write a sentence or 1 word of what they are usually doing every
Sunday. Then, they will paste it on the blackboard. The students
will be given 2 minutes to finish.
Ask:
How did you find the activity?
What did you observe on your classmates answer?
(If attending in mass is not present) What are other activities did
you do every Sunday?
What did you do during mass?
Brainstorming/ Dyad Sharing
When you attend mass, what are the things that you observed? List
your observation in your CLE notebook. The pupils will share their
answers with their partner for 3 minutes.
Ask for volunteers to share this to the whole class.
2. o Read the story on pp.79-80; The Church in Guatemala
Ask:
• What did the people do in Guatemala when they will attend
mass? How many hours did the people travel on foot to
attend mass?
• What did the people in Guatemala say when the government
threatened to close all churches?
• Why do we need to participate in the Eucharistic
celebration?
Linkage to the Message
Just like the people of Guatemala walked eighteen hours on foot to
attend Mass to have baskets of bread consecrated into the body of
Christ for their parishes where there are no priests, they became one
in worshipping God, they are gathered together participating in the
Eucharistic celebration, we are also asked to participate in Eucharistic
celebration to keep Lord’s Day holy, making present the passion, death
and resurrection of the Lord.
