2. Purpose of this task
The purpose of taking all of these images using
different shot types was to see what the best
effects are when creating an image for a
specific purpose. I also think this shows me
what types of shots to use to get certain
effects that I want for my music magazine.
3. Rule of thirds
In this image I was trying to
create a rule of thirds shot, so
the people in my image are in
one third of the image rather
than all of it. I think that this
image is quite successful as the
two people in the image are
not in the centre which gives
the image more effect as you
can see part of the
background. I think that this
image would be better if there
was something else in the
background linking to the
purpose of the image.
4. Multiple focus
In this image I was trying to
create an effect of having
multiple focus’ so that the
audience isn’t just looking at
one thing and has more focus’
making the image more
interesting. However I think that
this image could have been
more successful if one of the
two people in the image was
looking directly at the camera
drawing you into it and then
making you look at the other
person who would not be
looking at the camera.
5. Perspective
In this image I was trying to get a
perspective shot, so that you can
see one person clearer than the
other. The second person is
directly behind the other, but
because of the perspective of the
camera it looks like she’s slightly
too the side. I think this image is
quite successful as the person in
the front is the main focus and
then you look back and see
another person, so it draws you
in. I think this image could have
been more successful if the
background wasn’t the corridor so
i could of cropped the people into
the image more and thought
about the surrounding.
6. Reflection
In this image I was trying to create
the effect of a reflection, so that
you can see the person in the
image twice giving it more effect as
it looks like there is two of the same
person and that will draw people
into looking at this image. I think
that this image is successful as the
reflection is clear and the front part
of the image (the actual person) is
clear and the second part of the
image (the same person behind) is
less clear but from a different angle
creating effect. I also think I could
improve this image for next time by
thinking about what/who is in the
background and whether it links to
my purpose.
7. Dirty shot
In this image I was trying to create a
dirty shot by having someone slightly
behind a door. I thought that this image
was not as successful as it could have
been as the thing that was in the way
should have linked more to the person
and had more of a purpose in the
image. I also don’t think it makes the
image look better, so I think I can create
a better shot by having more
appropriate things in the way and
having the person further back in the
image.
