- Backyard Wisdom began as a traditional radio program.Produced one month in advance and entire month’s show delivered to public radio station at first of month.It was a format that was easily accepted by on-campus faculty. Come to my radio studio, stand in front of a microphone and talkViewed as a cost effective way to put Extension and AAES back on radio even as we dealt with combined challenges of reduced staffing and funding and commercial radio’s reticence about using pre-packaged soundbites and other materials from Extension
- Preoccupied with getting technical audio details down pat.Probably didn’t initially promote as strongly as we might have.
- Still don’t put as much effort as might have. Blogging still a strange concept to a newswriter. Not really fully committed to blogging this early state
