I gave this talk to the Vancouver User Experience group on April 30, 2013. It's about designing technology in a way that builds people's strengths rather than exploiting their weaknesses. Here's an excerpt that sums up the key message - though out of context it may sound a little more Pollyanna-ish than it will if you listen to the whole talk. "What if our work helped people create something they were proud of… or behave more like their favourite teacher… or do something generous for someone else? "What if we just made it easier to sit still and pay attention to your breathing? "What would the world look like if we built more apps like that?"
