2. The production Process
Producing my product could go through production, filming and editing phase which follows
6 main steps:
• THINK ABOUT PRODUCTS I WOULD LIKE MY PRODUCT TO BE SIMILAR TO & DO RESEARCH IN
TO THE GENRE, AUDIENCE.
• RESEARCH CURRENT OPPOSITIONS AND PRODUCTS ALREADY PRODUCED, WHO ARE THEIR
MAIN TARGET AUDIENCE, HOW ARE THEY SIMILAR TO MY MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY/HOW
ARE THEY SUCCESFUL? WHO ARE THEIR AUDIENCE, EDITING, SOUND, CHARACTERS ETC.
• PRODUCE A STORY BOARD OF WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO HAPPEN IN MY OPENING FILM
SCENES AND HOW THEY WILL BE SHOT – EASIER DURING PRODUCTION PROCESS
• CONSTRUCTING & FILMING THE PRODUCT
• EDITING AND PUTTING THE FILM TOGETHER
• DISTRIBUTING THE PRODUCT TO EITHER A LARGE OR NICHE AUDIENCE – DEPENDING ON
THE TARGET AUDIENCE

3. Publishing
Regarding my films target audience, being
young and ‘indie’ my audience is very
similar to films such as Paranormal Activity
and The woman in black, which are
distributed to be mainstream, rather than
niche. Therefore, my product would be
most likely distributed commercially to a
wide audience, by distributing to similar
film production lines such as Paramount
pictures (paranormal activity) and
Momentum pictures (The woman in black).
Mainly their products are distributed to be
mainstream and target a larger and wider
audience as these films are known as world
wide and very successful throughout the
USA and UK especially.

4. Who would distribute?
Paramount pictures distributed
Paranormal Activity as well as
‘Grave encounters’ which is very
similar. The target audience still
applies to the young audience
and by knowing the film well
they are able to satisfy the
audience.
My product is largely similar to
Paranormal activity, as it follows
he conventions of the genre and
targets a similar audience.

5. Advertising my product
Films such as Paranormal Activity is
largely advertised on television and
repeated regularly as it has been such a
popular sequel, it Is also very popular on
social networking sites, radio, posters,
transport (such as busses) regarding its
target audience of a younger age. For my
product the audience is mainstream,
therefore these advertising strategies
would be easy to apply to my product.

6. Distributing my product
Distributing my product to a larger
mainstream audience, would be
more suitable to distribute my film
to companies such as ODEON and
Cineworld and other local cinemas.
The change and emerge of web 2.0
will make it a lot easier to be
distributed and advertised online
from online advertising agencies
that could be ‘add ons’ to websites
and pages such as Youtube
advertisements and Spotify pop
ups.
