2. Extended play (ep) album
"corazon" by ela minus & dj

According to Output (n.d.), EP stands for "extended
play" and is essentially a mini album, as it usually
contains 3-6 songs. Its runtime is under 30 minutes.
"Corazon" by Ela Minus & DJ Python can be
categorized as an EP because it has 6 tracks (3 are
instrumentals) and it is a limited edition album.
What makes this an EP?

3. LONG play (LP) album
"JUST FOR A DAY" BY SLOWDIVE
According to Fluance (n.d.), an LP is a long-
playing vinyl record, usually 33 and one-third
rpm, and 10-12 songs. "Just for a day" by
Slowdive is an LP because of its number of
tracks on each side and overall length.
What makes this an LP?

Do you offer consignment to indie artists?
How often do marketing reps visit from the
record labels?
"We do not offer consignment to indie artists, mostly because it is
not very common in Bogota anymore."
"Not very often. In fact, we haven't received a visit like that in a long
time. If I have to be specific, I would say maybe once a year. Most of
the time artists come themselves instead of any label reps for any
collabs or promos."

5. events

Usually at 6:00 pm
Each event has a different theme and
invited artists. Most of these are indie, up-
and-coming, and starting artists.
They sell cafes and different snacks during
the events.
While RPM Records has these weekly events, they do not
have any physical posters promoting them. Most event
promotion is through their social media accounts, mainly
Instagram. The images on this slide are a couple of
examples of promos posted on their Instagram page.

7. "STUFF WE ALL GET"
SWAG
The only "SWAG" items they offer at RPM Records are in the images below. These are store
related. However, they sometimes get some special items (stickers, for example) to give
out to attendees at specific events. They did not have any of these event SWAG items the
day I visited.

8. PROMOS
There were no physical promos for any
specific artists, songs, or albums. Most of the
music posters at the store were collectibles
or inviting the client to purchase records in
general. At RPM Record's Instagram,
however, they do post some music
recommendations for the week every now
and then.

9. REFLECTION
For the most part, I would use RPM Records for an indie artist's
album release and its promotion. I say this because I feel it
depends on the artist and the genre. While the store has a variety
of vinyl records, it was noticeable that rock, hip-hop, and pop were
the most prominent genres. Hence, those are the artists that
would mostly benefit from promotions there.I would do an in-
store event and have the artist play at one of their weekly
sessions. The environment is very welcoming, so the artist would
have the chance to connect and interact with the attendees
closely. Having some "SWAG" items specific to the artist would be
helpful as well.
