3. PROPOSAL’S ENVIRONMENT AND AREA ANALYSIS
Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre will close
on 30 July 2020. It will be subsituted by a new
‘town centre’. The new development will include
homes, new leisure facilities, shops, cafes and
restaurants. But how far the scheme will benefit
local communities?
BRIEF AND STUDY CASE AREA

4. The aim of this proposal is its sustainability in thinking
about an architecture that is self-generating from
an energy point of view. The building designed, with
this in mind, will be a green energy generator for
the community, which not only will no longer require
energy but will be able to transfer energy to them.
The city will thus become a self-sufficient organism
composed of several green cells that exchange
energy between them: the main problem of energy
production is having a sufficient battery in which to
store it. In this network that is created between these
organisms, energy will not need to be stored because
it will be continuously exchanged between all the
cells of the city that need it at the precise moment of
production. Following the aforementioned thesis, the
most populated areas of London thus become the
areas that will bring more energy to the city.
