1. Free Minecraft Guide - The best way to - Make a cover
It protects you from killer Mobs, it stores your valuable items and gives many players a goal
to strive for in Creative and Survival modes. Building a shelter can be as simple as a 4x4
cottage or a mansion worthy of the Batman, it all depends on the player. A lack of
imagination can be a problem for some players, they have the skill and knowledge on how to
build but no idea what to build. In this article you will learn some tips on what to build and
how to build the most effective shelter in Minecraft's Survival mode on the Xbox 360 Edition.
Structure/Shape.
This is your starting point. Some may decide to build a Mansion and fill it with furnished
rooms with no use but in Survival this is un-realistic and some may decide to build a cottage
and have the bare minimum but this is rather boring. It is not hard to find the perfect balance.
A great tip is to choose any shape big enough to have four 7x7 rooms with a 3 wide corridor
in between. If you're looking to be unique a circle works just as well as four corners. A 21x21
circle can be broken into four rooms with a 3x3 corridor in a plus shape.
Rooms.
The reason four rooms are key in a shelter is because there are only a few key rooms
needed in a shelter. Crafting room, Kitchen/Food Room, Bedroom, Store Room, Furnace
room, Armoury, Portal Room, and an Entrance to your mine. You may be thinking that there
is no way to get all these rooms into four but it's simple. The Crafting room and Furnace
room can be in one room. The Armoury and the Portal can be in one room. The entrance to
your mine can be anywhere as long as it has a door and You can store things in your
bedroom. Any other rooms need can be dug underneath and extended up words.
Material.
There is an easy choice when it comes to the building material. Cobblestone, Stone or Stone
Bricks. Wood can be used but it can easily be lit on fire by attacking players or lightning so it
is not a great choice for protection. Some players prefer the Stone's smoothness over the
Cobblestone. The newly introduced Stone Bricks are almost the same as Stone but are
preferred for its look and design.
Defence.
Redstone defence systems can be challenging to design and aren't much easier to copy from
YouTube or any other Forum. Sometimes Redstone circuits don't work the same on Xbox as
they do on the computer. Some simple defences are Murder Holes, Wall and Moats. Murder
Holes are just holes that allow you to kill Mobs without them hurting you. A wall needs to be
at least 3 high with an overhang to stop any spiders climbing over and the trench should be 4
wide and 4 deep. Tutorials can be found online very easily (tutorials reviewed here: anchor).
All these tips can be put towards your shelter but there is one tip left that will help players
suffering from indecision is just to choose a shape or design and build it.
