reminded that Elena

decision to swim
unassisted in her own
mind in order to move
forward and progress
beyond a plateau she
had been resting on for
months.
This is a monumental moment for
Elena. She is realizing that is
swimming unassisted. Her self-
confidence grew immediately and
considerably after that realization.
She was willing to immediately try
other swimming skills, such as
submerging her head under water,
that she had been
afraid of attempting
even that same morning.
Elena is swimming
unassisted for the first
time. She is not using
air floaties. She is
cupping her hands.
She is holding her
breath or breathing
through her nose. She
is keeping her head
above the water.
