I think I rely on addition and pointing terms, words more than others, at least in this section. As I
read these chapters from they say I say book, I realized that it is very important to use these
transitions words in my essay. Therefore, as I know how this new information is useful to readers, I
am going to use more of these concepts in my future writing.

Are topic sentences and transitions used to deliver the paper in a coherent manner? What
suggestions can you offer to increase organization and structure? The different points are clearly
stated and transition well. Referring back to my last answer, the author needs to put his research into
an essay.
5. How would you describe the style, tone, and word choice used? What strategies does the writer
use to connect with the audience? In what ways could the writer better meet the audience's needs?
The essay has an overall informative style. The information is all very factual and represents an
important topic. The audience, including myself, can learn from this essay.
6. What is your overall impression of the essay? Does the writer motivate you to act or persuade
you to agree with his or her point of view? What is the most important revision the writer could
make to improve the essay? What is the writer's biggest strength in the draft? Overall, I think the
writer has the potential to write a good essay. I am just a little confused as to how this is a draft.
The research will undoubtedly benefit the writer's essay. The writer's biggest strength is, what I hope
to be, the thesis. The motivation for terrorist groups. This is sure to grab, and hold, the audience's

Essay On My Hero's Journey
Looking at the finished product I turned in for Essay 1, I don't think I deserved a 100%. As I
read my essay I found nothing but mistakes and points left out. I then went back and read the first
draft of that essay and man is there is difference. As I was reading my original essay I found out
that I was inserting facts into sentences. That's not bad but no the goal. The goal is to create a
story about your hero's journey and relate it to you. Mine was not that. Looking back on
workshops and feedback I saw how much my paper had changed and how I raised my bar. I took
sentences I had written and moved, created, and formed an essay that was different and better then
the first draft; by creating a story. Now using all the knowledge, I have learned throughout the
semester, I can use it revise my essay one...show more content...

The framework stayed strong as stated before, it had a great flow and a smooth story. The topic
sentences need clarifying and to be mentioned again throughout the paper (i.e. The Hero's Journey).
The worst part of the paper to me were the transition, so I overhauled them to help the reader know
where they were heading next.

that was professional literacy."
Revised: "These two mentors also taught me literacies that many students I knew did not have, and
that was professional literacy and technological literacy. These are concepts that I would continue to
use today and help me along my journey in high school. Now let's start from the beginning, when my
hero's journey started."
I also, took into consideration feedback pertaining to sentence detail and fluency in the story. My
points in the paragraphs were on point but explanations was where I was lacking. Explanations were
expanded upon in examples and detail.

How My Writing Has Improved
After this semester of English 102, at Bristol Community College I feel that I have gained the
skill to articulate what I want to convey to the reader in many ways. I don't just look at
grammatical error, but instead I look for ways to make my sentences more effective and concise.
Nevertheless, I hope that this strategy will continue to help me improve my writing even further
on in the future. My strong points as a reader have also definitely improved after reading the
poems and stories we experienced this semester. Writing has been an important form of
expression for me. I find myself to be very soft spoken and speaking verbally is usually difficult
for me because I can't always seem to find the right words to say. I feel that I am more expressive
and have more control over what I want to say. While this semester progressed toward its end, I
have learned new writing skills and gradually learned how to engage with audiences. This skill
was very useful in meeting my course goals in English 102. I believe that I have grown at
organization and careful stream my thoughts as well. Before I would just begin writing my papers
without any plans or organization, along with no definite idea of where I would be going with the
assignments, but throughout this course I've learned that you should base your paper around your
thesis statement. Another skill I took from this class was to value my classmate's responses, from
their reactions made me much more aware that my main ideas

Persuasive Essay On Prison Education
Prison education has been an ongoing dilemma between the ones in favor and the ones against it.
Although there is no right or wrong answer to what is correct there is proof that educating
prisoners in jail has a positive outcome on upon their release. We must recognize that the people
against it have a logic explanation of why they are against it. Some of those causes include the
belief that it is not fair for inmates to receive a "full ride" education, instead of helping those
students who have worked so hard in school, but do not have the money to afford going to a four
year. It is lamentable to think about it that way, but on the other hand offering education to
prisoner will definitely improve the wellbeing of human society. In jail prisoners should be
educated despite their criminal behavior. It will help improve society and reduce crime. Moreover
providing inmates with education while they are in jail is a great idea, yet it should be taken into
account that not all prisoners should be able to have the privilege. Some of the exception would
include prisoners who have committed major crimes like rape,or murder. According to the
Washington State Institute of Public Policy in their article "College Behind Bars: Keeping an
idea alive." has set some standards on who would be able to have this privilege by stating "The
government is encouraging prisons to focus their programs on inmates within five years of
release." The idea is to focus correctional education on inmates who will be released within a couple
of years with the purpose of creating knowledgeable people who would be less likely to re–commit a
crime, and creating a safe environment for our society.Along with this inmates will be expected to
be on their best behavior while in class and any misbehavior would be an automatically
disqualification for that inmate and he or she would no longer be able to receive this correctional
education that is being offered to them. In the article "Prison education is a smart investment, reduces
crime." by Taylor Loretta, Loretta states "Most students who enroll in our program begin to see
themselves as college student capable of something better for themselves." With this being said it is
obvious proof that

Intro:
Hey, I'm Connor McDaniel and I like long walks on oils rig free coastlines and drinking locally
brewed Dominican Coffee. I currently I'm working at a shelter for amputee kittens, but my true
passion is equality
For me equality is more than just a word it's a dream for the future, a dream that can be achieved if
we work together.
From what I've gathered from multiple sociological studies, I've read, is that we can actual abolish
discrimination against sex, race and, class and find equality, if we begin the now.
My dream is for there to be equality and for there to be a world where racism, sexism and the
classism (to mention a few). I believe it is possible, if we work together to spread awareness and

We need to begin by bringing funding back to school and investing into these low income

We need to start analyzing what we say and avoid damaging language and common phrases we

saying "ya'll" or "hi everyone"and help people do the same.

Reflective Essay: The Progress Of My Writing
The progress of my writing has consisted of overcoming struggles as well as enhancing my strengths.
Some in which will include style, organization, evidence, focused topic, etc. Undoubtedly, there are
numerous elements of writing to establish a clear statement regarding the topic discussed. Elements
that I have been focused on and implemented are the introductions that describe an overview of the
topic along.
Furthermore, some components that I consider while I'm beginning to write an essay or report is to
always look for evidence that the author presents throughout his argument. It's important to point
out their evidence to either support or a rebuttal and thoughts of your own. Overall, I focus on
creating a quick and simple introduction towards the text I am referring to and assemble a thesis as
well as a cliffhanger to keep the audience engaged. Likewise, I also include is transitions to form
my claims and ideas be associated with each other.
In addition, the organization is also something that I have improved on to have a concrete order to
cite a quote, the perspective of the author's claim, and show evidence or support. When using I need
to keep a reminder, that it's best if transitions are used for topic sentences and wrapping up the
evidence given previously to close out the last paragraph sentence. In...show more content...
For instance, sentence structure, using the word "I" in formal writing, and punctuation mistakes.
Ultimately, I lack of sentence structure because I have an idea of what is needed to talk about, but I
can't properly put it in a clear way for it to relate back to the text. Therefore, I don't put much
attention to the punctuation since I'm struggling to generate a clear argument. A common mistake I
tend to do is trying to implement that it's my own point of view or perspective, going off of the
quote. To which results in adding the word "I" throughout the essay without

How Far Would You Go For A Loved One Analysis
How Far Would You Go For a Loved One? Striving is to make great efforts to achieve a goal.
When one strives for a loved one, they will go an extra mile to do a deed for that person. Whether
that deed is making a friend or loved one feel better or protecting them in every possible way.
Those two ideas may seem different, but initially still mean the same thing. To strive. Striving for
someone, no matter who it is will always make one feel better in the long run, and some believe
that the more help others do for one another will make the world a better place. Paulo Coelho's
aphorism, "When we love, we always strive to become better than we are...when we strive to become
better than we are, everything around us becomes better too,"(155), is clearly exemplified through
the characters Katniss, and Prim in the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins....show more

The certain way in which she interacts with her younger sister Prim helps symbolize this point.
Katniss's relationship with her sister is pure love. The book, The Hunger Games expresses the
theme of love in the relationship between two sisters,(Atkins). Katniss's actions towards Prim and
the way she describes her, you can tell how much the sisters rely on one another and care for each
other. Katniss specifically illustrates Coelho's aphorism when she puts her sister's life first and
volunteers for the games (Atkins). Her actions are not the only example of how Katniss
illustrates Coelho's aphorism, she also demonstrates his aphorism through her words. From the
quote, " Prim's face is as fresh as a raindrop, as lovely as the primrose for which she was
named,"(Collins 1) you can tell how fond Katniss is of her sister. Both of these examples help to
understand how Katniss loves prim and feels the need to protect and become a better person for

same time they don't want to get tired of it and not hate it later in life" (Bui). From this sentence, I
could guess that the next paragraph would be about making foods and probably for the family since
family is kind of the theme in this essay.
Your comments: Your essay structure is good. However, I think you can add more transition

Base 4: Sentence Skills
Are there any rough spots where the sentences do not flow smoothly and clearly? Overall, the essay

6 Traits Of The Writing Process Essay examples
Six Traits of the Writing Process: Which one works?
Introduction
Conn McQuinn from Puget Sound ESD in Burien, Washington guides teachers and students alike
through a writing process with the analogy of creating a "Magnifique" pizza and Six Trait Writing
Links. Pamela Arlov wrote a book titled Wordsmith: A guide to collegewriting, which explains the
writing process. We are going to compare the six traits of writing by Conn McQuinn and the writing
process by Pamela Arlov and determine which seems to work best.
Clarification
The first trait is "Ideas". Ideas are the main focus of the paper (McQuinn, 2007). By putting these
images, documents and stories together you develop a theme to hold the readers attention. Conn
McQuinn uses a...show more content...
The voice will emphasis personal feeling but will modify the voice for diverse audiences. The third
trait is "Organization". Organization is the internal structure of the paper. The writer must link all
details together with a strong transition so that the idea does not get lost (McQuinn, 2007). When
you are organizing your thoughts think chronologic order or from top to bottom. At this point the
writer can incorporate multiple strategies for leads and conclusion. The writer can also use
transitional sentences to connect groups of related ideas. The traits "Voice" and "Organization" are
similar to the "Planning phase" of the writing process. Planning is "I get the ideas down in rough
form – I wouldn't call it an outline" (Arlov, 2007, p5). Planning your paper can make it easier for
you as the writer. If your mind keeps going blank try brainstorming, look in journal and write down
ideas that pop in your mind. This is when you should start thinking of a thesis statement which
might change several times before you are satisfied. Good or poor planning will show in your final
draft.
The fourth trait is "Word Choice". Word choice is away to use rich, colorful, precise language that
moves and enlightens the reader (McQuinn, 2007). When using word choice the writer should start
with favorite or primarily oral vocabulary word. When refining the paper manipulate the words for
stylistic effects by using synonyms of selected words.

Appropriate Usage Of Transition Words
Lastly, the use of incorrect transition words was annotated in Essay 1: Facing Uncertainty with
Curiosity. The improper use of a transitional word may make the meaning or direction of your
paper differ from what is intended. Properly used transitional words or phrases are designed to
transition between sequence of evens or places. Additionally, transitional words or phrases can
effectively relate to a reader how one thing can lead to another, to emphasis contrast between two
ideas and add purpose to the writers intended point of view. Appropriate usage of transition words is
essential in relaying progression within writing.

when Clarisse passed away. Proof: "I'm not sure. But I think she's dead. The family moved out
anyway. I don't know but I think she is dead." (Bradbury 47) Comment: This made Montag realize
how separated Mildred is from the outside world. She is so caught up in her shows all day,

Essay on Transitioning a Child To Daycare
When a parent leaves their child off at a daycare, they often wonder why their child who was
happy and content before they arrived cries and screams when their parent leaves to go to work.
This is a very hard transition for infants, which is why it's our job as infant toddler teachers to make
the transition as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
The reason children feel this way when their parents leave is because they are in what Piaget calls
the sensorimotor stage, and are in the beginning of object permanence meaning that an infant realizes
something is their even though they cannot see it. This is very important because, before an infant
can experience object permanence often refereed to as separation anxiety, they only think...show

You should also greet the child as they come in the classroom so they feel welcomed, and to show
them you are not a scary person. It is also important not to make many changes in your classroom.
This shows the child that there is nothing to worry about, and to reduce their anxiety. You should
also keep a routine schedule as well so that the infant does not experience anything out of the
ordinary, and can feel comfortable in the classroom because they know what is expected. You
should also give time when they arrive to play, and do activities that you have for them to do to
make the transition easier. However the best way to go about this is to be patient with the child, and
be understanding.
There are several elements in the early childhood program that addresses stranger anxiety. For
instance the staff child ratio for a child care center is one adult for three infants. Infants also have the
same teacher so that they see the same face, and this insures that you develop an attachment as well
as bond with the infant. Trust is also used to address stranger anxiety; having the caregiver ensure
there needs are met does this. This is done when the caregiver rubs the infant's stomach, and talks to
them when they are changing their diaper, holding them when they are eating, and talking to them in
baby language.
In conclusion having

Transitional Leadership
Transition Leadership: Managing Change In Your Organization
in today's deregulating and increasingly competitive business environment, organizational change is
becoming inevitable. Today's successful organizations are experiencing transitions in the areas of
technology, process re engineering, mergers, and organizational restructuring in order to remain
competitive. However, although these areas impact employees at all levels of the company, senior
management often overlooks this fact. Therefore, it is imperative that company management
understands the impact of organizational change on employees and manages these effects
accordingly. By doing so, organizational leaders minimize the negative impact change has on
productivity and...show more content...
These issues are important, but the changes ultimately will not be implemented successfully without
the cooperation of employees. Only through effective transition leadership are employees able to
effectively cope with and accept the changes they are presented with.
Ten Characteristics of Effective Transition Leaders
The role of transition leader is an often overlooked but important aspect of management. There are
several characteristics that make up a good transition leader. Here we identify the main
characteristics that are needed in a successful transition leader. In general, there are 10 characteristics
of effective transition leaders: Gains support from and confidence of others. Change is not accepted
and work cannot be done without the buy–in of key stakeholders. For this reason, it is imperative
that transition leaders gain the support and confidence of other key employees in the organization.
Listens and collaborates effectively. No matter how good a manager is, people will not follow
without a sense of ownership in the organization. One of the key ways to secure this ownership and
trust in employees is through listening and collaboration. Takes accountability. As with any effective
manager, successful transition leaders take accountability for their own work as well as that of the
entire organization that he or she manages. Provides constructive feedback to others. Transition

Transition Sentences: Hello Han Low
Hello Han Low, I think your are off to a good start with what you want to revise in your essay.
Transition sentences are very important in a paper, since they set–up what you will be discussing in
the next paragraph. Therefore if you have a good transition then the reader will be able to follow
your thought process better and in turn will be able to understand the paper better. However, you
should also focus on the transitions and flow within your paragraphs as well because those are just
as important as your transition sentences. Also your thought on strengthening your arguments is a
very good idea because it shows that you are open to opposing ideas, rather than just saying one side
or the argument. If you just showed one side the reader

The book They Say/I Say: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing by Gerald Graff and
Cathy Birkenstein I feel like was helpful in many ways. Paragraph Eight I found very helpful
because it teaches you how to connect your sentences. When you are going from one point to
another it is very important to relate and connect your topics so it reads smoothly and the reader
doesn't get lost. In this chapter it also gives examples of transitions. Transitions help the reader know
that there are new points or topics coming up in the writing. There are different transition word
categories such as addition, elaboration, example, cause and effect. Ect. In these categories are words
that help one transition their thoughts such as also, actually, in other words, and so on....show more

I also feel as if chapter Seven is important because if you do not tell the reader why this information
matters and who cares there is no point. Writers should not assume that the readers will know and
understand the points you are trying to make. Chapter seven has many templates on how to explain
who cares and why your claims matter to them. For an example, a template that you could use for
telling the readers who cares "At First glance, teenagers might say _________ . But on the closer
inspection ______." When student uses these templates within their work they do not forget to
explain why these things matter. Using Graff and Birkensteins methods in writing can help one's
writing go smoother and can also make the writing process

Transition to Democracy Essay
Since the initiation of the Third Wave of Democracy, several countries have attempted to form a
democratic system of governs. We take note that not all have succeeded. At the dawn of this era,
democracy was being applied to countries with no prior history of a governing body that was place
by the people for the people hence success of such a system could not be guaranteed because of the
innumerous variables that existed in each country. People being the highlighted factor of variance, it
may become easier to understand how countries such as Pakistan and Nigeria, both countries prior to

the legislative power is delegated to the Spanish parliament. Due to this structure it is very
arduous for political figures in states and governments to abuse their power. The executive power
in Spain is given to the Council of Minister's, which is led by the Spanish prime minister. The
Prime Minister is initially nominated by the king where after he is required to obtain the vote of

Transitions Of The Early Years
This essay will cover transitions in the early years. It will discuss a diverse range of transitions,
which each child may encounter during their early years of life. It will discuss different types of
transitions such as horizontal and vertical transitions, with reference to appropriate theorists such as
Bowlby and Ainsworth's and their research on the attachment theory. The last section of the essay
will show a high quality policy and procedure, going into detail on how it will support a child in the
transition from pre–school in a nursery setting, to reception in a primary school.
Transitions are commonly described as different phases of concentrated learning and enhanced
development in a social context. (Dunlop et al, 2007). There are three types of transitions, each have
a different meaning. Vertical transitions describe a major change in a child's life, for example,
moving from pre–school, to the reception class in a school. Internal transitions occur when a child
moves to a different room in a setting, for example, from a toddler room to a pre–school room, or
reception to year 1. Horizontal transitions is a much broader term, they occur on a day–to–day basis,
for example from their house to nursery, having multiple carers in one day, encountering unfamiliar
people and many more. (O'Connor, 2013). "Development is all about transitions: conception to birth,
birth to toddlerhood, to pre–schooler, school–age child, to adolescent, adolescent to adult, adult to

The different points are clearly stated and transition well. Referring back to my last answer, the author needs to put his research into an essay. 5. How would you describe the style, tone, and word choice used? What strategies does the writer use to connect with the audience? In what ways could the writer better meet the audience's needs? The essay has an overall informative style. The information is all very factual and represents an important topic. The audience, including myself, can learn from this essay. 6. What is your overall impression of the essay? Does the writer motivate you to act or persuade you to agree with his or her point of view? What is the most important revision the writer could make to improve the essay? What is the writer's biggest strength in the draft? Overall, I think the writer has the potential to write a good essay. I am just a little confused as to how this is a draft. The research will undoubtedly benefit the writer's essay. • 4. Essay On My Hero's Journey Looking at the finished product I turned in for Essay 1, I don't think I deserved a 100%. As I read my essay I found nothing but mistakes and points left out. I then went back and read the first draft of that essay and man is there is difference. As I was reading my original essay I found out that I was inserting facts into sentences. That's not bad but no the goal. The goal is to create a story about your hero's journey and relate it to you. Mine was not that. Looking back on workshops and feedback I saw how much my paper had changed and how I raised my bar. I took sentences I had written and moved, created, and formed an essay that was different and better then the first draft; by creating a story. Now using all the knowledge, I have learned throughout the semester, I can use it revise my essay one...show more content... The topic sentences need clarifying and to be mentioned again throughout the paper (i.e. The Hero's Journey). The worst part of the paper to me were the transition, so I overhauled them to help the reader know where they were heading next. Original: "These two mentors also taught me literacies that many students I knew did not have and that was professional literacy." Revised: "These two mentors also taught me literacies that many students I knew did not have, and that was professional literacy and technological literacy. These are concepts that I would continue to use today and help me along my journey in high school. Now let's start from the beginning, when my hero's journey started." I also, took into consideration feedback pertaining to sentence detail and fluency in the story. My points in the paragraphs were on point but explanations was where I was lacking. Explanations were expanded upon in examples and detail. Original: No sentence, added detail and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. How My Writing Has Improved After this semester of English 102, at Bristol Community College I feel that I have gained the skill to articulate what I want to convey to the reader in many ways. I don't just look at grammatical error, but instead I look for ways to make my sentences more effective and concise. Nevertheless, I hope that this strategy will continue to help me improve my writing even further on in the future. My strong points as a reader have also definitely improved after reading the poems and stories we experienced this semester. Writing has been an important form of expression for me. I find myself to be very soft spoken and speaking verbally is usually difficult for me because I can't always seem to find the right words to say. I feel that I am more expressive and have more control over what I want to say. While this semester progressed toward its end, I have learned new writing skills and gradually learned how to engage with audiences. This skill was very useful in meeting my course goals in English 102. I believe that I have grown at organization and careful stream my thoughts as well. Before I would just begin writing my papers without any plans or organization, along with no definite idea of where I would be going with the assignments, but throughout this course I've learned that you should base your paper around your thesis statement. Another skill I took from this class was to value my classmate's responses, from their reactions made me much more aware that my main ideas Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Prison Education Prison education has been an ongoing dilemma between the ones in favor and the ones against it. Although there is no right or wrong answer to what is correct there is proof that educating prisoners in jail has a positive outcome on upon their release. We must recognize that the people against it have a logic explanation of why they are against it. Some of those causes include the belief that it is not fair for inmates to receive a "full ride" education, instead of helping those students who have worked so hard in school, but do not have the money to afford going to a four year. It is lamentable to think about it that way, but on the other hand offering education to prisoner will definitely improve the wellbeing of human society. In jail prisoners should be educated despite their criminal behavior. It will help improve society and reduce crime. Moreover providing inmates with education while they are in jail is a great idea, yet it should be taken into account that not all prisoners should be able to have the privilege. Some of the exception would include prisoners who have committed major crimes like rape,or murder. According to the Washington State Institute of Public Policy in their article "College Behind Bars: Keeping an idea alive." has set some standards on who would be able to have this privilege by stating "The government is encouraging prisons to focus their programs on inmates within five years of release." The idea is to focus correctional education on inmates who will be released within a couple of years with the purpose of creating knowledgeable people who would be less likely to re–commit a crime, and creating a safe environment for our society.Along with this inmates will be expected to be on their best behavior while in class and any misbehavior would be an automatically disqualification for that inmate and he or she would no longer be able to receive this correctional education that is being offered to them. In the article "Prison education is a smart investment, reduces crime." by Taylor Loretta, Loretta states "Most students who enroll in our program begin to see themselves as college student capable of something better for themselves." With this being said it is obvious proof that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Example Of Transition Essay Intro: Hey, I'm Connor McDaniel and I like long walks on oils rig free coastlines and drinking locally brewed Dominican Coffee. I currently I'm working at a shelter for amputee kittens, but my true passion is equality For me equality is more than just a word it's a dream for the future, a dream that can be achieved if we work together. From what I've gathered from multiple sociological studies, I've read, is that we can actual abolish discrimination against sex, race and, class and find equality, if we begin the now. My dream is for there to be equality and for there to be a world where racism, sexism and the classism (to mention a few). I believe it is possible, if we work together to spread awareness and put to action what we have learned only then we can see the result....show more content... Transition: But awareness isn't enough we can't stop there. We need to put to action what we have learned. In the next 34 year if we begin to make moves toward equality in our neighborhoods homes and schools we will be able to we a world without people being confined to making 10,000 least a year then some one of a different color skin. We need to begin by bringing funding back to school and investing into these low income neighborhoods. We need to start analyzing what we say and avoid damaging language and common phrases we used befor that encourage theses things like when people saying "guys" instead we can practise saying "ya'll" or "hi everyone"and help people do the same. • 8. Reflective Essay: The Progress Of My Writing The progress of my writing has consisted of overcoming struggles as well as enhancing my strengths. Some in which will include style, organization, evidence, focused topic, etc. Undoubtedly, there are numerous elements of writing to establish a clear statement regarding the topic discussed. Elements that I have been focused on and implemented are the introductions that describe an overview of the topic along. Furthermore, some components that I consider while I'm beginning to write an essay or report is to always look for evidence that the author presents throughout his argument. It's important to point out their evidence to either support or a rebuttal and thoughts of your own. Overall, I focus on creating a quick and simple introduction towards the text I am referring to and assemble a thesis as well as a cliffhanger to keep the audience engaged. Likewise, I also include is transitions to form my claims and ideas be associated with each other. In addition, the organization is also something that I have improved on to have a concrete order to cite a quote, the perspective of the author's claim, and show evidence or support. When using I need to keep a reminder, that it's best if transitions are used for topic sentences and wrapping up the evidence given previously to close out the last paragraph sentence. Ultimately, I lack of sentence structure because I have an idea of what is needed to talk about, but I can't properly put it in a clear way for it to relate back to the text. Therefore, I don't put much attention to the punctuation since I'm struggling to generate a clear argument. A common mistake I tend to do is trying to implement that it's my own point of view or perspective, going off of the quote. To which results in adding the word "I" throughout the essay without Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. How Far Would You Go For A Loved One Analysis How Far Would You Go For a Loved One? Striving is to make great efforts to achieve a goal. When one strives for a loved one, they will go an extra mile to do a deed for that person. Whether that deed is making a friend or loved one feel better or protecting them in every possible way. Those two ideas may seem different, but initially still mean the same thing. To strive. Striving for someone, no matter who it is will always make one feel better in the long run, and some believe that the more help others do for one another will make the world a better place. Paulo Coelho's aphorism, "When we love, we always strive to become better than we are...when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too,"(155), is clearly exemplified through the characters Katniss, and Prim in the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins....show more content... The certain way in which she interacts with her younger sister Prim helps symbolize this point. Katniss's relationship with her sister is pure love. The book, The Hunger Games expresses the theme of love in the relationship between two sisters,(Atkins). Katniss's actions towards Prim and the way she describes her, you can tell how much the sisters rely on one another and care for each other. Katniss specifically illustrates Coelho's aphorism when she puts her sister's life first and volunteers for the games (Atkins). Her actions are not the only example of how Katniss illustrates Coelho's aphorism, she also demonstrates his aphorism through her words. From the quote, " Prim's face is as fresh as a raindrop, as lovely as the primrose for which she was named,"(Collins 1) you can tell how fond Katniss is of her sister. Both of these examples help to understand how Katniss loves prim and feels the need to protect and become a better person for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

There are a few transitions sentences. For example "That a hard decision to make because they like that product but at the same time they don't want to get tired of it and not hate it later in life" (Bui). From this sentence, I could guess that the next paragraph would be about making foods and probably for the family since family is kind of the theme in this essay. Your comments: Your essay structure is good. However, I think you can add more transition sentence to make your essay become better. Base 4: Sentence Skills Are there any rough spots where the sentences do not flow smoothly and clearly? Overall, the essay was not hard to understand. Although there are a few little errors. For example this sentence "That a hard decision to make because they like that product but at the same time they don't want to get tired of it and not hate it later in life" (Bui). Introduction Conn McQuinn from Puget Sound ESD in Burien, Washington guides teachers and students alike through a writing process with the analogy of creating a "Magnifique" pizza and Six Trait Writing Links. Pamela Arlov wrote a book titled Wordsmith: A guide to collegewriting, which explains the writing process. We are going to compare the six traits of writing by Conn McQuinn and the writing process by Pamela Arlov and determine which seems to work best. Clarification The first trait is "Ideas". Ideas are the main focus of the paper (McQuinn, 2007). By putting these images, documents and stories together you develop a theme to hold the readers attention. Conn McQuinn uses a...show more content... The voice will emphasis personal feeling but will modify the voice for diverse audiences. The third trait is "Organization". Organization is the internal structure of the paper. The writer must link all details together with a strong transition so that the idea does not get lost (McQuinn, 2007). When you are organizing your thoughts think chronologic order or from top to bottom. At this point the writer can incorporate multiple strategies for leads and conclusion. The writer can also use transitional sentences to connect groups of related ideas. The traits "Voice" and "Organization" are similar to the "Planning phase" of the writing process. Planning is "I get the ideas down in rough form – I wouldn't call it an outline" (Arlov, 2007, p5). Planning your paper can make it easier for you as the writer. If your mind keeps going blank try brainstorming, look in journal and write down ideas that pop in your mind. This is when you should start thinking of a thesis statement which might change several times before you are satisfied. Good or poor planning will show in your final draft. The fourth trait is "Word Choice". Word choice is away to use rich, colorful, precise language that moves and enlightens the reader (McQuinn, 2007). When using word choice the writer should start with favorite or primarily oral vocabulary word. When refining the paper manipulate the words for stylistic effects by using synonyms of selected words. The improper use of a transitional word may make the meaning or direction of your paper differ from what is intended. Properly used transitional words or phrases are designed to transition between sequence of evens or places. Additionally, transitional words or phrases can effectively relate to a reader how one thing can lead to another, to emphasis contrast between two ideas and add purpose to the writers intended point of view. Essay on Transitioning a Child To Daycare When a parent leaves their child off at a daycare, they often wonder why their child who was happy and content before they arrived cries and screams when their parent leaves to go to work. This is a very hard transition for infants, which is why it's our job as infant toddler teachers to make the transition as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The reason children feel this way when their parents leave is because they are in what Piaget calls the sensorimotor stage, and are in the beginning of object permanence meaning that an infant realizes something is their even though they cannot see it. This is very important because, before an infant can experience object permanence often refereed to as separation anxiety, they only think...show more content... You should also greet the child as they come in the classroom so they feel welcomed, and to show them you are not a scary person. It is also important not to make many changes in your classroom. This shows the child that there is nothing to worry about, and to reduce their anxiety. You should also keep a routine schedule as well so that the infant does not experience anything out of the ordinary, and can feel comfortable in the classroom because they know what is expected. You should also give time when they arrive to play, and do activities that you have for them to do to make the transition easier. However the best way to go about this is to be patient with the child, and be understanding. There are several elements in the early childhood program that addresses stranger anxiety. For instance the staff child ratio for a child care center is one adult for three infants. Infants also have the same teacher so that they see the same face, and this insures that you develop an attachment as well as bond with the infant. Trust is also used to address stranger anxiety; having the caregiver ensure there needs are met does this. This is done when the caregiver rubs the infant's stomach, and talks to them when they are changing their diaper, holding them when they are eating, and talking to them in baby language. Therefore if you have a good transition then the reader will be able to follow your thought process better and in turn will be able to understand the paper better. Writers should not assume that the readers will know and understand the points you are trying to make. Chapter seven has many templates on how to explain who cares and why your claims matter to them. For an example, a template that you could use for telling the readers who cares "At First glance, teenagers might say _________ . But on the closer inspection ______." • 21. Transitions Of The Early Years This essay will cover transitions in the early years. It will discuss a diverse range of transitions, which each child may encounter during their early years of life. It will discuss different types of transitions such as horizontal and vertical transitions, with reference to appropriate theorists such as Bowlby and Ainsworth's and their research on the attachment theory. The last section of the essay will show a high quality policy and procedure, going into detail on how it will support a child in the transition from pre–school in a nursery setting, to reception in a primary school. There are three types of transitions, each have a different meaning. Vertical transitions describe a major change in a child's life, for example, moving from pre–school, to the reception class in a school. Internal transitions occur when a child moves to a different room in a setting, for example, from a toddler room to a pre–school room, or reception to year 1. Horizontal transitions is a much broader term, they occur on a day–to–day basis, for example from their house to nursery, having multiple carers in one day, encountering unfamiliar people and many more. (O'Connor, 2013). "Development is all about transitions: conception to birth, birth to toddlerhood, to pre–schooler, school–age child, to adolescent, adolescent to adult, adult to the final Get more content on HelpWriting.net
