For many of us, sports are a daily part of our lives. In fact, for most people who are now involved
in coaching, it may be either their first or second priority. For anyone who has chosen to undertake
the task of coaching sports, that coach must have a clear and defined coaching philosophy. As was
mentioned in the text and assignments for this week, if one does not have his or her philosophy
defined, it will make his or her job and goals of teaching and coaching that much more difficult to
obtain.
Character development is a great philosophy to have, it is the one which I myself try to live and
coach by, and one that personally, I feel should be adopted by more coaches. Far too often we see
or hear of a coach, be it a youth coach or someone involved in professional sports, who fails to
understand that while winning may be important, the number one goal should always be the well
being and growth (both personally and professionally) of the members of the team. Perhaps the
most recent example of this is the recent events which have and are still ongoing with the Miami
Dolphins. There is currently an ongoing investigation as to whether or not bullying is being allowed
or even encouraged in the locker room of the Dolphins....show more content...
While I have never personally had to deal with a situation as exaggerated as this one, I have seen
firsthand how bullying can cause severe problems and rifts in a team. While coaching a group of
ten year old boys in baseball, there were a few players who either through a lack of experience, or
physical skills or a combination of these were not as good as the majority of the team. Of course,
boys at that age will inevitably begin to recognize this and poke fun at the other

Types of Irony Is it strange how love can be a source of happiness, but also cause a lot of pain? Yet
people tend to search for love, and once these people find love it comes with both pleasure and ache.
Irony plays a role in love because love is what people perceive as joy but also causes hurt, yet
people still search for love. In Kate Chopin's Story of an Hour, there are different forms of literary,
situational, and dramatic irony used. The first type of irony which Kate Chopin uses is literary
irony. Literary irony is expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the
opposite. In The Story of an Hour, Louise says that her husband Brently is...show more content...
In the end of The Story of an Hour, Louise walks down stairs to see that Brently is actually alive
which causes Louise to fall into severe devastation and die. The last type of irony used in The
Story of an Hour is dramatic irony. Dramatic irony occurs when the meaning of the situation is
understood by the audience but not by the characters in the play. When the doctor in the story
says, "She had died of heart disease, of a joy that kills." The characters in the story, Josephine and
Richards, think Louise died out of joy when Brently is actually found to be alive rather than dead.
This realization causes Louise to fall into desolation and die because now she cannot live her life
freely. Dramatic irony also occurs when Josephine thinks Louise is sick in her room when she is
really experiencing joy. This falls under dramatic irony because Josephine thinks Louise is
becoming sick due to Brently's death, but the audience reading the story know that Louise is
actually full of joy. In The Story of an Hour, Kate Chopin uses these different types of literary,
situational, and dramatic irony in her story. Irony is the use of words to convey a meaning that is
the opposite of its literal meaning, but there are also other types of irony such as situational which is
situation in which actions have an effect that is opposite from what was intended. On the other hand,
dramatic irony is

Exemplification Essay: Is College Worth It?
Is college worth it? That is, is college worth all the debt and stress that it brings? Americans with
four–year college degrees made 98 percent more an hour on average in 2013 than people without a
degree. While college is undeniably expensive, stressful, and at times frightening, college is
absolutely worth going to. Getting a higher education, going to college, is important because it gives
students an opportunity for a better future, one can gain valuable resources, such as important
connections with people, and going to college will most likely give you important work skills.
Most people in different parts of the world would die for a chance to have a better future for
themselves and for their families. One such example would be my parents....show more content...
Let's just say that in the future you are applying for a very remarkable, high–level job. Certainly you
can get the job on your own, but what if the CEO of that specific company is good friends with
one of the professors to whom you got very close with during the years that you spent at that
college. Maybe that One professor can influence the CEO to give you a shot at the job you
applied for. You see? What harm did that do? All that professor could have done was make sure
the CEO knew that you were going to be competent at the job you had applied for. While
obviously you were perfectly capable of getting the job completely on your own, some extra help
was very greatly appreciated. At college, most everyone makes friends. Special connections with
people that you will have for the rest of your life. In high school everyone, or at least a lot of people,
have friends. You will always have your high school friends, but I am convinced people get closer
to college friends because you go through the most life changing things with them. However,
connections are not important only for getting a job or for making friends. Some day you might
need some advice, on your life. Maybe advice about your family, or maybe advice about your job. It
will always be nice to know someone, perhaps a professor or a friend, who will be there for you
through no matter what is happening in your

Exemplification Essay: Living With An Alcoholic
The fear, the oppression, the not knowing how long it's going to be until the next episode is
utterly soul destroying. What this relatively can refer to is the longing wait of an alcoholic
addiction to end. There is a certain complexity of comprehending the differences between a
person's life living with an alcoholic and a nonalcoholic. Sometimes, it would take actual
experience to atmospherically feel what it's like. Living with an alcoholic is unpredictable and life
becomes uncomfortable as a role of a sole provider. Partially, one becomes powerless over their
addiction and unless the person has structured help, they have no hope. Living with an alcoholic,
there are social effects by less interactions with the alcoholic. This can easily

Another minor dispute has escalated into yelling and screaming, throwing of objects and breaking
of hearts. Words that shouldn't be expressed between two loving people cause tears and feelings
of hatred, anger and disrespect. This is just one of many problems that could have been
effortlessly resolved before the mole hill grew to the size of Mt. Everest but of course walking
away from the situation isn't always the easiest thing to do. If she only turned her back away from
the quarrel and began her journey in the opposite direction she wouldn't be roaming the streets at 3

It must be a case of "tough love." What could their child have done to have lost all rights of having
a roof overhead and being kicked out with nothing more than a bag of clothes and a couple dollars
for either some phone calls or some food? Still there are some who barely receive that. Truthfully
it's a hard pill to swallow when the reality of these adolescents having nobody to turn to because of
their heartbreaking lifestyles sets in. Being sexually, emotionally or physically abused by someone
close to home isn't any fault of their own; neither is having a parent or guardian who is more
focused on their next hit rather than handling responsibilities they unconsciously took on the
moment they realized they were bringing a child into this world. However, these underage people,
must learn to survive on their own two feet. What other choices do they have? Going to the police
and confiding in them 100% is a exhausting task in its own. These are the men and women who
took an oath and vowed to protect and serve each community with their entire being, but are the
same men and women who come to the "ghetto" or to the "'hood" and harass and arrest innocent
black men and black women for standing on the corner too long. A case of mistaken identity, right?
If these youngings see this on a daily basis happening on the same streets they dwell on, is it
somewhat understandable why they fear the thought of having to approach those

Another season is passing and as we enjoy our summer barbecues, times at the beach, camping
trips, or any other enjoyable event one does in the sun, remember; some people have had this taken
away from them, over a plant. One such person is Ferrell Damon Scott #27797–177, who is serving
the eighth–year of a life sentence. Ferrell, a 51–year–old father whose only crime was being a
trucker, a working–father trying to make a living. His only crime was doing it at the wrong time, in
the wrong state. Today in Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Alaska or even our nation's capital his
crime would be just considered part of the business process; the life sentence he's serving for
transporting is wrong. Besides the fact the law is unjust, there are some

You've probably heard the argument line "Why don't they just go back to their country?" or "Why
don't they just come here legally?" It isn't that simple and most importantly, it is an ignorant opinion.
When you say "Go back to your country", it's a lot more complicated than what your brain can
handle. An issue that's talked about a lot in our current news it the immigration crisis. The
immigration process is complicated, especially in the US.

By 1889, the locale had two names, community of "Motlo" or "Motto", named after a Seminole
chief and Lemon City which prevailed for being more appealing. Even though Lemon City had a
general store, barbershop, saloon, blacksmith shop, wharves and warehouses, a school, and a hotel,
all prior to the coming of the railroad in 1896 and the birth of City of Miami, the city was never
incorporated becoming known as "the city that never was." Up to the time that Henry Flagler
brought his railroad to Miami, Julia Tuttle's homestead had nothing more than Fort Dallas built
during the Seminole Wars on the north side of the Miami River and on the south side, William
Brickell's trading post was the only establishment; Lemon City was the trade core of the

Exemplification Essay: The Stereotypes Of Women
Our generation is naturally living in the fast–lane. This generation has been brainwashed by TV
shows, magazines , music videos and Etc. Most men treat women like crap, because of what
rappers have said, but those same rappers are the ones that are married or has had a girlfriend for
years. Example: Jay Z constantly speaks bad about women, but has been with the same woman for 15
years. Guys are getting the rap life confused with real life!
We have women who will show every ounce of their body for a check and than wonder why they
don't get any respect! Yes, sex sells, but women have so much more to offer.
One last thing, is there really a difference between a friend calling a woman a bad bi*ch and a guy

This third recap took place before bed. AD finally was feeling better after having the flu and strep
throat. This was her first day back to school and then the babysitters after school. Over the weekend
she had spent her own money she had earned from doing chores around the house to buy a small
stuffed bunny rabbit. AD had taken the rabbit with her in her book bag to school in the morning so
that she could have it at the babysitters when she got out of school. After multiple warnings from her
father about not taking it because she will leave it at the babysitters, AD insisted on taking it. Just as

bunny. This did not become an issue until it was

Clifton engaged in conversation with CM. Clifton mentions to CM that he received the wound a

infection and needs medical assistance. CM inquired if he cleaned the wound daily and change the
adhesive bandage. Clifton responded, "I change the band aide once". CM provided suggestions

Exemplification Essay: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The one who falls and gets up is much stronger than the one who never fell. Not fighting for what
you believe in and giving up could be very fatal, for it builds up hardihood and fortitude; in
addition, it corrects all the people who doubted you. First and foremost, too many people are too
timid to go through all the trouble and pain to achieve past their limits; however, one act of bravery
could make a person's courage ascend to the sky. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. always had a
dream about slavery being demolished; therefore, he worked tirelessly and accomplished his goals.
Many people today are living freely because of his courageous and dauntless act of believing in
something and fighting for making it a reality.

Some people find storms rather relaxing and enjoy listening to it. Others might even enjoy being in
one. The same couldn't be said on the day of October 30, 1991 for 6 fishermen on a 72 foot long
long–liner called, The Andrea Gail, in North Atlantic Ocean in the middle of "The Perfect Storm".
"The Andrea Gail, in the language, was a raked–stem, hard chined, western–rig

Michael Moran, Alfred Pierre, and the captain, William Tyne. The Andrea Gail left Gloucester with

When the storm hit The Andrea Gail, the boat was south of Nova Scotia. When the hurricane hit

the middle of the storm and unconscious in the flooded enclosures of the boat. The more time went
on, the more their conditions worsen. The 6 men either suffer from laryngospasm or completely
inundated lungs. It was reported that The Andrea Gail was dealing with 30–foot seas and 50–80 mile
winds, devastating coastal New England.
The Andrea Gail and her crew was supposed to return to its port by Saturday. She hasn't been heard

Exemplification Essay: A Fictional Narrative
A century ago, Toronto was very different than it is today. One of the differences being that Alan
Talon was about to release the first ever moving picture with sound on May 16 1908. But on what
was supposed to be the most esteemed event in all of Canada, a tragedy occurred. As dozens of
elegantly dressed women and men found their way to the velvet seats in the theatre, among them
were a detective by the name of Timothy Lance, Doctor Samantha Wilfrid, Inspector Steven Louis,
and Chief Constable Craig Will. They were an accomplished group of people who worked at Police
Station #2 and were invited by Alan Talon as his personal guests. When everyone found their
assigned seats, Alan Talon, the successful inventor himself came onto the stage. "Good evening ladies

Edison was seated in Detective Lance's office waiting to be interrogated. "Good evening, Mr.
Edison," welcomed the detective as he walked into the office. "May I ask, what is the meaning of
this childish nonsense?" asked Thomas hotly. "It has to do with the murder of Mr. Lawrence,"
replied Lance trying to maintain his decorum over Mr. Edison's impropriety. "I already told you, I
didn't kill him," Mr. Edison said. "Then why was your gun found at the crime scene?" inquired the
detective, pulling the evidence out of his drawer and placing it on the desk. "Anyone could have
stolen my gun and placed it there," answered Thomas looking at his

on Fraternity Row. I doubt that Lawrence ever met

My Definition of Success Essay example
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
– Albert Einstein ––
My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you)
what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your
thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that
challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing
what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you
love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content...
Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets
is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important,
and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life
interesting and challenging.
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or
the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I
grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination.
They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the
$55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company,
moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed
to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.
Faith and family always come first –

Sample Of Exemplification Essay

  • 1. For many of us, sports are a daily part of our lives. In fact, for most people who are now involved in coaching, it may be either their first or second priority. For anyone who has chosen to undertake the task of coaching sports, that coach must have a clear and defined coaching philosophy. As was mentioned in the text and assignments for this week, if one does not have his or her philosophy defined, it will make his or her job and goals of teaching and coaching that much more difficult to obtain. Character development is a great philosophy to have, it is the one which I myself try to live and coach by, and one that personally, I feel should be adopted by more coaches. Far too often we see or hear of a coach, be it a youth coach or someone involved in professional sports, who fails to understand that while winning may be important, the number one goal should always be the well being and growth (both personally and professionally) of the members of the team. Perhaps the most recent example of this is the recent events which have and are still ongoing with the Miami Dolphins. There is currently an ongoing investigation as to whether or not bullying is being allowed or even encouraged in the locker room of the Dolphins....show more content... While I have never personally had to deal with a situation as exaggerated as this one, I have seen firsthand how bullying can cause severe problems and rifts in a team. While coaching a group of ten year old boys in baseball, there were a few players who either through a lack of experience, or physical skills or a combination of these were not as good as the majority of the team. Of course, boys at that age will inevitably begin to recognize this and poke fun at the other Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. exemplification essay Oct. 30, 2013 Prof. Farve Exemplification Essay Types of Irony Is it strange how love can be a source of happiness, but also cause a lot of pain? Yet people tend to search for love, and once these people find love it comes with both pleasure and ache. Irony plays a role in love because love is what people perceive as joy but also causes hurt, yet people still search for love. In Kate Chopin's Story of an Hour, there are different forms of literary, situational, and dramatic irony used. The first type of irony which Kate Chopin uses is literary irony. Literary irony is expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite. In The Story of an Hour, Louise says that her husband Brently is...show more content... In the end of The Story of an Hour, Louise walks down stairs to see that Brently is actually alive which causes Louise to fall into severe devastation and die. The last type of irony used in The Story of an Hour is dramatic irony. Dramatic irony occurs when the meaning of the situation is understood by the audience but not by the characters in the play. When the doctor in the story says, "She had died of heart disease, of a joy that kills." The characters in the story, Josephine and Richards, think Louise died out of joy when Brently is actually found to be alive rather than dead. This realization causes Louise to fall into desolation and die because now she cannot live her life freely. Dramatic irony also occurs when Josephine thinks Louise is sick in her room when she is really experiencing joy. This falls under dramatic irony because Josephine thinks Louise is becoming sick due to Brently's death, but the audience reading the story know that Louise is actually full of joy. In The Story of an Hour, Kate Chopin uses these different types of literary, situational, and dramatic irony in her story. Irony is the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning, but there are also other types of irony such as situational which is situation in which actions have an effect that is opposite from what was intended. On the other hand, dramatic irony is Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. Exemplification Essay: Is College Worth It? Is college worth it? That is, is college worth all the debt and stress that it brings? Americans with four–year college degrees made 98 percent more an hour on average in 2013 than people without a degree. While college is undeniably expensive, stressful, and at times frightening, college is absolutely worth going to. Getting a higher education, going to college, is important because it gives students an opportunity for a better future, one can gain valuable resources, such as important connections with people, and going to college will most likely give you important work skills. Most people in different parts of the world would die for a chance to have a better future for themselves and for their families. One such example would be my parents....show more content... Let's just say that in the future you are applying for a very remarkable, high–level job. Certainly you can get the job on your own, but what if the CEO of that specific company is good friends with one of the professors to whom you got very close with during the years that you spent at that college. Maybe that One professor can influence the CEO to give you a shot at the job you applied for. You see? What harm did that do? All that professor could have done was make sure the CEO knew that you were going to be competent at the job you had applied for. While obviously you were perfectly capable of getting the job completely on your own, some extra help was very greatly appreciated. At college, most everyone makes friends. Special connections with people that you will have for the rest of your life. In high school everyone, or at least a lot of people, have friends. You will always have your high school friends, but I am convinced people get closer to college friends because you go through the most life changing things with them. However, connections are not important only for getting a job or for making friends. Some day you might need some advice, on your life. Maybe advice about your family, or maybe advice about your job. It will always be nice to know someone, perhaps a professor or a friend, who will be there for you through no matter what is happening in your Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. Exemplification Essay: Living With An Alcoholic The fear, the oppression, the not knowing how long it's going to be until the next episode is utterly soul destroying. What this relatively can refer to is the longing wait of an alcoholic addiction to end. There is a certain complexity of comprehending the differences between a person's life living with an alcoholic and a nonalcoholic. Sometimes, it would take actual experience to atmospherically feel what it's like. Living with an alcoholic is unpredictable and life becomes uncomfortable as a role of a sole provider. Partially, one becomes powerless over their addiction and unless the person has structured help, they have no hope. • 7. Exemplification Essay Kandace Gordon Exemplification Essay Another minor dispute has escalated into yelling and screaming, throwing of objects and breaking of hearts. Words that shouldn't be expressed between two loving people cause tears and feelings of hatred, anger and disrespect. This is just one of many problems that could have been effortlessly resolved before the mole hill grew to the size of Mt. Everest but of course walking away from the situation isn't always the easiest thing to do. It must be a case of "tough love." What could their child have done to have lost all rights of having a roof overhead and being kicked out with nothing more than a bag of clothes and a couple dollars for either some phone calls or some food? Still there are some who barely receive that. Truthfully it's a hard pill to swallow when the reality of these adolescents having nobody to turn to because of their heartbreaking lifestyles sets in. Being sexually, emotionally or physically abused by someone close to home isn't any fault of their own; neither is having a parent or guardian who is more focused on their next hit rather than handling responsibilities they unconsciously took on the moment they realized they were bringing a child into this world. However, these underage people, must learn to survive on their own two feet. What other choices do they have? Going to the police and confiding in them 100% is a exhausting task in its own. These are the men and women who took an oath and vowed to protect and serve each community with their entire being, but are the same men and women who come to the "ghetto" or to the "'hood" and harass and arrest innocent black men and black women for standing on the corner too long. A case of mistaken identity, right? If these youngings see this on a daily basis happening on the same streets they dwell on, is it somewhat understandable why they fear the thought of having to approach those Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. Exemplification Essay: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The one who falls and gets up is much stronger than the one who never fell. Not fighting for what you believe in and giving up could be very fatal, for it builds up hardihood and fortitude; in addition, it corrects all the people who doubted you. First and foremost, too many people are too timid to go through all the trouble and pain to achieve past their limits; however, one act of bravery could make a person's courage ascend to the sky. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. always had a dream about slavery being demolished; therefore, he worked tirelessly and accomplished his goals. Many people today are living freely because of his courageous and dauntless act of believing in something and fighting for making it a reality. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

One of the differences being that Alan Talon was about to release the first ever moving picture with sound on May 16 1908. But on what was supposed to be the most esteemed event in all of Canada, a tragedy occurred. As dozens of elegantly dressed women and men found their way to the velvet seats in the theatre, among them were a detective by the name of Timothy Lance, Doctor Samantha Wilfrid, Inspector Steven Louis, and Chief Constable Craig Will. They were an accomplished group of people who worked at Police Station #2 and were invited by Alan Talon as his personal guests. "May I ask, what is the meaning of this childish nonsense?" asked Thomas hotly. "It has to do with the murder of Mr. Lawrence," replied Lance trying to maintain his decorum over Mr. Edison's impropriety. "I already told you, I didn't kill him," Mr. Edison said. "Then why was your gun found at the crime scene?" inquired the detective, pulling the evidence out of his drawer and placing it on the desk. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first – Get more content on HelpWriting.net
