Objective
Independent and resourceful Systems Integrator with five years experience supporting large Geospatial Information
Systems (GIS) contract, looking for an IS-related position that utilizes my strength and passion for technical writing
and instruction. I have performed several roles across the acquisition lifecycle including Concept of Operations
(CONOPS) development, System Initialization Planning and Configuration Management. Proven success at
establishing metrics (measurements) and performing subsequent quantitative analysis and process improvements in a
Systems Engineering Capability Maturity Model (SE-CMM) Level 5 environment across multiple projects and at an
aggregated “organizational” level.
Qualifications
Proven success at performing quantitative analysis, including establishment of metrics and development of data
storage, analysis and reporting procedures.
5 years experience developing various data architecture documents and diagrams, technical training manuals and user
manuals; experience in technical instruction, specifically Insight (Metrics Tool) and Microsoft Excel and Word.
Practical knowledge of numerous system engineering processes including program planning, readiness, verification,
architecture development, and configuration management.
Practical knowledge of SE-CMM, Capability Maturity Model - Integrated (CMMi) and Practical Software and
Systems Measurement (PSM) Methodology.
Extensive knowledge of geospatial systems including segment functionality and end-to-end workflow (tasking,
collection, processing, storage/dissemination, exploitation).
Awards and Recognition
Special Recognition Individual Award, Lockheed Martin Corporation, December 2001 and July 2004.
Special Recognition Team Award-Team, Lockheed Martin Corporation, December 2003 and November 2004.
Education
Waynesburg College, Waynesburg, PA
Bachelor of Science Degree (May 2000), Mathematics and Computer Science, 3.97 GPA
Relevant Experience
U.S. Census Bureau, Chester County, PA, April 2010 - Present
on-response Follow-up Enumerator
Responsible for interviewing residents of households that have not returned a 2010 Census questionnaire.
Unemployed, Elverson, PA, May 2005 - April 2010
Stay-at-home mother
Member of St. Vincent de Paul Society
Member of Poole Forge Historical Society
Lockheed Martin Corporation, Valley Forge, PA, May 2000 - May 2005
Senior Systems Engineer, Enterprise Engineering (EE) contract, August 2003 - May 2005
Senior Systems Engineer on GIS engineering contract supporting National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
Team Leader for Systems Initialization Planning; work included coordinating/leading various technical exchange meetings
and developing data threads to be executed at system start-up to initialize new system data.
Developed animated work-flow scenarios that were presented at the customer-sponsored “Ops Day”, a two-day event
attended by government customers, end-users and segment contractors; the scenarios were used to familiarize the attendees
with a typical “day in the life” of the new system.
Co-authored Geospatial Production Operations document, a 100+ page technical description of the system baseline from a
2. user perspective. The intent of the document was to verify that the multi-billion dollar system being built by numerous
contractors was consistent with enterprise-level requirements and Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and would meet the
needs of the end-user/customer. The document served as a pre-cursor to system initialization planning, test document
generation and end-user training. The document also identified at least one missing requirement, which was added to the
baseline via a subsequent Request for Change (RFC).
Systems Engineer, Joint Management Office (JMO), May 2003 - July 2003
Developed program progress/performance metrics for this newly formed office/program.
Authored the Program Plan and Measurement Plan, which defined processes and metrics to be used by the program in order
to operate in a SE-CMM Level 5 Environment.
Supported segment readiness and testing for Ruler and Math Model Library (MML), components of the Integrated
Exploitation Center (IEC) tool.
Measurement Analyst and Program Process Analyst, Systems Integration Organization, May 2001 - May 2003
Improved the organization’s measurement process (used by over 15 program offices), which included acquisition of
software, documentation of procedures, face-to-face group and individual training and an overall streamlining of activities,
leading to improved report quality and reduced monthly labor.
Responsible for generation of monthly organization-level metrics/performance reports.
Participated in SE-CMM and CMMi assessment preparation, leading to a Level 5 award.
Other Experience
US Steel Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA, May 1999 - December 1999
Student Co-Op
Served as the in-house instructor for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Responsible for revising course materials for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
